Absolutely beautiful property! Such a cozy, well kept, high quality stay! Very homey, breath-taking views, amazing experience! Communication was hassle-free and pleasant with hosts, very friendly people. All around 10/10! Will come again! :)

The house and property were beautiful and cozy. There was plenty of space for the dogs to run around off leash and not bother anyone. There was ample space for my family of 5 to choose to be together but also to retreat to their own spaces for some down time. The views were absolutely stunning! If you are a reader, this place is a dream - there are plenty of comfortable chairs with great lighting to enjoy a book and the house has bookshelves filled with books - something for everyone. It was the first time this season that we were experiencing really cold nights and there were an abundance of extra blankets. I had reached out to the owners prior to our stay and they were always very responsive and went above and beyond to be helpful and get information to us. The location is isolated so if you're looking for a quiet spot in nature this is definitely the place. We were looking for some fall activities and found plenty- a mountain coaster, haunted hayride and corn maze all within a 30-40 minute drive. So despite being "in the middle of nowhere" you really were able to access plenty of fun and interesting things to do very easily.

A Perfect Vermont EscapeThis sweet post-and-beam rental in Southern Vermont was everything we hoped for—and more. Set on a large, peaceful acreage surrounded by trees beginning to turn into brilliant fall colors, it felt like a true escape from everyday life.The air was clean and crisp, and the silence was incredible. Other than birds chirping and the gentle rustling of leaves in the trees, there was hardly a sound. It was exactly the kind of peaceful setting we were looking for.The home itself was cozy and incredibly comfortable. The beds were comfortable, the space was spotless, and the easy-to-operate wood stove made the chilly evenings especially inviting. We truly enjoyed gathering around the firepit, with plenty of seasoned firewood thoughtfully supplied. And there’s something pretty special about waking up in Vermont with the smell of cooking bacon in a cast iron skillet, and enjoying the quiet morning surrounded by nature.We also made a point of getting out and supporting the local community, visiting nearby stores, restaurants, breweries, and distilleries. There was plenty to explore, but coming back to this peaceful property at the end of the day was always the highlight.This place perfectly combines rustic Vermont charm, comfort, privacy, and natural beauty. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful Southern Vermont getaway!

We had a comfortable and enjoyable stay. We stayed at the home while on a ski trip to Mount Snow and Berkshire East. The house was equipped with everything we needed. We cooked several meals in the well-appointed kitchen, and spent time in the cozy living space. It is clearly a well-loved house.

Chris and Donna are gracious hosts. Checked on us after a snow storm and we were cleared out quickly by their plow service. The cabin was clean, cozy with stunning views. The notes around the house were so helpful too. It was so peaceful. We loved our early morning walks around the property with our dog Ziggy. We loved how welcomed he was in the cabin. The cabin had everything we needed. The wood stove was amazing and having the wood split and stacked was great!We are already figuring out when we will visit again.Debbie, Tom & Ziggy

The host are gracious and open to being contacted for any questions. The home has everything and any thing you will need including helpful reminders placed right where you need them. The wood stove/ fireplace works like a charm and is well controlled with detailed instructions found in the guestbook. I really loved all the books, so many great selections.

Great, spacious cabin, beautiful view's

Clean, very confortable and with everything needed to relax and have a great time. The property has ample space, we had a great time and felt nature in all it's splendor. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful secluded property

We really enjoyed our time in Vermont. The house is beautiful post and beam construction, and the property is gorgeous. There were still a couple of feet of snow on the ground, and we used the wood stove the entire week. We only saw one car drive by the entire week- very secluded. The internet is extremely fast, which allowed me to work while we were there, but also get away from the city, which is exactly what we were looking for. The property was safe for our dogs to roam as well, which was great. If I had a couple of minor criticisms it would be that there is kind of a lot of clutter in the house (think Grandma's house- comfy but lots of things everywhere), and the dishes were not very clean from the previous renter, so not much housekeeping QC going on- bits of food stuck on glasses, etc. But frankly it didn't matter, everything else was so beautiful, and the house had everything we needed, we just had to dig for it sometimes. We visited with our small family and dogs, but this cabin would be fantastic for a group of 8 or 10 as a getaway. Also, the number of windows is amazing- sunrises were absolutely stunning from the master bedroom. Highly recommended.

Amazing Winter Cabin!

Beautiful and peaceful, great house for a winter getaway with the family. We loved the yard and location. Grab your groceries on the way up, and enjoy the amazing house with your crew, (And dog too)

Peaceful, cozy and spectacular views.

Every need accommodated including a back-up generator! Well appointed kitchen and bathrooms. Very cozy and spacious home inside. Very comfortable bed mattress in master bedroom. Lots of yard for dogs to run free. Nature all around. Lots of books and board games there. Laundry room was a big plus. Remote setting but lots to see and explore within reach. Very lovely stay and hosts were very responsive.

Peaceful retreat

From the photos on this listing, I knew there would be beautiful views. We were able to watch the partial lunar eclipse from the balcony off the primary bedroom! I think the best part, was how quiet it is. The property is fairly close to the parks we wanted to visit and the driving we did involved almost no traffic on winding country roads. The owners made sure the house was well stocked with supplies. I had brought a couple of books with me but found myself perusing the incredible number of books - including some childhood favorites on the shelves downstairs.

We had an amazing time! The property was clean and had everything we needed. Everything was as advertised or better! Though secluded as we were hoping, there was wifi and cell phone reception, which was also great! We definitely plan to return!

Wonderful!

The house was perfect for our family of 8 and a dog. It was well stocked with everything we needed to make meals and feel comfortable. We all enjoyed the large deck overlooking the beautiful yard. It was also convenient to some nice hiking spots.

Extraordinary Experience!

This is our Vermont favorite! Perched way up among the hills, this affordable and rustic homestead has spectacular views of the region. There is not another home to be seen from the property. The peaceful privacy is a rare find. Without the light pollution of a city, the stars glow so brightly in the night sky. We loved the spacious deck, whirlpool tub, fire pit, and wood burning stove. Dogs love running around the acreage. Home is clean and comfortable. Fast Wifi. It's also great location and relatively short drive to local dining and recreational spots including Mt Snow valley, lakes, and parks. We enjoy kayaking the Harriman Reservoir and hiking Molly Stark Park. The owners are gracious, responsive, and very helpful with recommendations. Their family goes back generations in the area so they are a wealth of information to help you have that authentic visit that most tourists miss. Highly recommended. We will be back!
