We spent most of our time when at the property in the beautiful backyard. The pool was very clean, and the yard had a wonderful tropical feeling to it. The house could use some updating but met our needs as far as the number of bedrooms and baths. There was one small plumbing issue but that was handled immediately. Overall, very nice and spacious home.

We loved our stay at this property. We arrived after dark and Dennis had turned on the lights for us. We were a little concerned about not having AC but there were plenty of portable fans and along with the evening breeze it was very comfortable. The highlight of the house is the amazing pool. It was so nice to just step out of our rooms and jump in the pool. We were pleased with the amount of beach and pool items available for our use. We spent most of our time enjoying the pool, walking down to see the turtles on the beach and sitting on the back porch. Access to the washer and dryer was a plus. If you are travelling with children, there is a very large grass area for them to play. We felt very safe and there was very little extra noise. I would highly recommend this property.

The house is older but quite large. We were only inside to fix meals, shower and sleep. The rest of the day we were in and out of the amazing pool!! The pool is quite deep but very floatable with all the pool noodles and other toys. The water is crystal clear and the temp is perfect!! I can’t say enough good things about the pool! The pickleball court was a great hit with our 2 grandkids. They played there every day at least twice. If they weren’t in the pool, they were playing pickleball. Of course there were easy walking trips to Baby Beach as well. Safeway and Krispy Kreme are nearby as an added bonus….Dennis is a great host. He responded to my requests almost immediately. We even locked ourselves out once and he drove a key over! And he was very nice about it!There were no insects in the house and very few outside. Trade winds kept the house ventilated and all the fans were helpful. Thank you so much Dennis. We had a wonderful time!!

Such a beautiful place to stay with an awesome pool and amenities! Loved the pickleball court in the morning, the beautifully manicured grounds and each couples own bathroom. Being close to the airport was actually a plus. There’s a LOT of traffic here. The beaches were close and getting dinner in Paia was easy enough. Thanks for the hospitality! Quick response from the owner, but no problems. Thanks again! Debbie

The house was a great solution for kids to play and enjoy the day while the parents worked. The pool is amazing, and some toys were provided. The tennis/pickleball court was used heavily and greatly appreciated. Great location, central to our friends and family in Makawao, Haiku, and Paia, and just far enough away from the airport's take-off pattern to not be too disruptive.The house could use some TLC, and the amenities need refinement, but the location and grounds made up for it. A five-minute walk to Baby Beach. It would be five stars if additional attention were paid to refining the dishes, ensuring all lights work, using coffee filters that actually fit the coffee maker, etc.One disappointing aspect was that many of the rooms were spacious but had only double or queen beds. A king bed would have been greatly appreciated.

Aloha the kitchen had always gotten great reviews well equipped and all glasses and dishes always replldaced when needed . All our guests have commented in the past reviews . the main house has a king the end room a king the little room has a built in double and could never fir a king the middle room has a queen and queen sleeper and often sleeps 3-4 guests and often we have a pak an Play for babies and todlers and that is where they put it so a king would limit that room to guest accomadations . We has A 25 year storm Just before guest arrvied and we had booked off repairs and he contacted me at 5 in the morning and needed to know if he could come the next . In 12 years we have never had that happen . I woke up my cleaning staff to see if we could help him and we did . Then he texted me wanting and early check and later a late check out so we did both for him. The prior guests must have run our of coffee filters and bought the wrong size . All he had to do is text me and we would have gotten hiem the right size in an hour. .The proir guests just bought new ones but wrong size. We did not know. He also asked because of a death in the family if 3 family members living here could visit the property because the the death. We normally cant do that maiu;county rules but we said ok . Im surprised with his review after everything we did to accommodate all his needs . There are so many lights and lamps in each room its hard for me to even see how he noticed any burnec out and all

Please read entire review for context. We had family in town for a wedding and needed 4 bedrooms with 4 baths for 4 couples. Our initial reaction to the place was that it was clean enough but lived in hard. This may be what you would expect in other island homes. Don't know. There is no air conditioning however, once we got settled in, we realized there were plenty of windows, sliders and fans throughout the house and that made it pleasant. Once the breeze started a couple of days later is was very comfortable and a wonderful place. Location was awesome as it is a 3 block walk to a beautiful beach and also close to shopping(Costco and Walmart for supplies) and the airport. The pool was huge for a single house! We used it often and it was awesome. I think the shallow end must start at 4 feet and rapidly get deeper so not for youngsters who cannot swim. However, in the closet next to the pool was a full array of water toys and floaties and boogie boards! Those were awesome! Boogie boards are 60 if you were to buy them locally. Extra bag chairs were available and we took them to the beach. Those were an excellent perk! We did not use the tennis/pickleball court as it rained often but the house had all you needed for that. Kitchen was well equipped for making plenty of food for 8 the grill worked well. Overall it worked very well for what we needed. 5 stars if it had A/C and was cleaner/refreshed like a resort. Otherwise awesome!

We spent 10 days here and totally enjoyed our stay. The accommodations are perfect - plenty of room, clean, and well stocked. The location is its greatest attribute being totally private on 3/4 acre, yet very close to many of the amenities of Maui - Baby Beach, shopping in Paia. And the rental fee is a bargain considering there are 4 bedrooms with sleeping for 8 persons close to the center of Maui. WE WILL BE BACK! Thank You - Dennis.

We had a great stay! Very comfortable home for 5 adults. We loved all the windows opening up to the pool from each room. Baby beach in short walking distance and chairs provided. All kinds of float items available for pool and beach. Fully stocked kitchen made it easy to prepare our own meals. Dennis was available for any questions. Only recommendation would be to update the owner book and remove old/outdated info.

We loved the location. It allowed us to go in any direction in a reasonable amount of time which was the goal. We didn't want to be locked in to a resort location or beach, we wanted to explore as much as possible. The home was perfect for 4 couples! A room with outside entrance for each couple yet great community space pool side. The kitchen was well stocked and roomy for prepping large meals. The pool was a perfect end to each day with beautiful views morning and night! We also really appreciated all the pool toys and various water sport items that are complementary with the property. We didn't take advantage of the courts only because we were too busy. Baby beach was an easy, 5-10 minute walk from the house so we felt like we got a great location without the cost of a beachside home.The only reason I couldn't give the overall experience a 5 was the comfort of the beds. If the beds were upgraded, this would have most definitely been a 5 star experience overall.Our Host Dennis was super responsive which was appreciated when your trying to organize a trip for 8 people.

This house is in a great location, walking distance to lovely beaches where we swam, snorkeled, and saw dozens of turtles. It has a beautiful kitchen well equipped to cook for yourself. The pool is huge, although it is deep, so not really suitable for small kids. Great for a group of adults. It also has a large beautifully kept yard, as well as a tennis/pickleball court which we took advantage of too. Dennis was a super host, very accommodating when we needed to change our plans a bit. The couple of times we had problems with appliances, were dealt with before we even got back from our day trip! Can’t say enough good things about our house, host and trip in general, would recommend this property anytime!

We loved everything about this stay. Our host Dennis was attentive, going out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed. The home was clean, with a well-stocked kitchen. At first we were worried about lack of air conditioning, but it wasn’t a problem at all. My family loved the pool and played with all the pool toys (grown children—hahaha) as well as using the tennis court. We used the grill and ate outdoors every day. We will be back.

Our family of 7 adults enjoyed every minute of our stay here! It had absolutely everything we needed. More importantly, our whole family agreed the set up of having a well appointed kitchen right off the pool entrance, and separate entrances to each of our bedrooms, and the ability to enjoy our meals poolside each day provided a perfect private “compound” feel that really enhanced our vacation. We much preferred staying on this side of the island and easily driving to hikes and activities versus staying in the thick of all the tourist activity. Host very responsive to the couple of questions we had. Highly recommended for groups of 5 - 8.

The house has the perfect location. The pool and access to baby beach is exactly what we wanted. The house is in desperate need of painting. A few issues like no hot water, some windows inoperable, some window shades don’t offer privacy, the bathroom fan in 2nd bedroom was inoperative. The host was super responsive delivering us a NEW baby crib and beach chairs! Super helpful!!

Aloha we checked out the fan in the room it works he just didn't know where the switch was We can't find anything wrong with hot water every room has hot water He might not have noticed but the house is partially painted but we didn't have time to finish but we will as soon as we have next opening We can't find any windows that don't open The guest new he could contact me all the time because he did so and never once addressed an issue I have his text and he said everything was great I wish he would have said something The switch for the fan in the room he could not get to work is not next to the other switches it has it's own switch A call or text would have solved everything It takes a few minutes for hot water to reach the far room it's a distance away But we checked all the rooms all have hot water

We come to May a lot and this is by far the best place we’ve ever stayed. The location is perfect- just a couple blocks from some of the best beaches on the island. The house is centered around a wonderful large pool that’s beautifully landscaped; we ate every meal around it and swam in it throughout the day. The tennis court is excellent and there are lots of rackets and balls so you don’t have to bring your own. We loved the place and are already planning to come back.

My wife and I recently stayed at Kunea Place with our family to celebrate our 50th anniversary. It was the perfect home for our party of 8 which included our 2 grandkids aged 10 & 12. The house was plenty spacious enough for our group. When we arrived we found it to be very clean and with a well equipped kitchen and a gas grill to prepare meals after days of hiking and snorkeling. The grounds were beautifully landscaped and meticulously groomed and the pool and tennis courts were a big hit with our group. Kunea Place is centrally located in Sprecklesville on Maui's north shore and is close to beaches, the Hana Highway Mt. Haleakala and many restaurants and attractions. The property manager, Dennis was very helpful both in the booking process and in making sure that our stay was comfortable and pleasant. We would definitely stay there again if we return to Maui. ..... Aloha

Great family location

Fabulous house. Pool is super clean and warm and huge; greater for swimmers. Beds are very comfortable. Cotton linens. Great kitchen. Everyone had plenty of room. 2 blocks to family friendly beach with cove that helps with young kids. Very responsive manager. Great house for family use. The airport noise is not a deal breaker. The bathrooms and showers are quite clean but could use wall washing and base board cleaning but that actually allows family use without lots of worry of being meticulous. Thank you; great week.

Great location

Kitchen has everything you need for cooking family meals. Lots of pool towels and toys for the kid's. The grounds are beautiful The setup for each of the rooms allowed for individual privacy. Walking distance to the beach.This home was very roomy for our family of seven.

Stayed with a group including kids and grandparents. Loved the place, great jumping off location for the many activities in Maui. The pool, tennis/pickleball court, and outdoor dining area were the highlights! Communication with Dennis was great, my daughter left a cherished stuffed animal in her bed sheets and Dennis arranged to have it shipped to us. Would definitely stay again.

Maui Paradise

House and property is beautiful, better than the photos. Located near just about everything you could ever want to do. Check in/ out was a breeze, everything worked properly and the house had all extras (towels, pool and tennis equipment). I would highly recommend staying here while on Maui. If we return we would definitely stay here again.

Stunning property and exceptional location; opt for comms & property info

This is probably our favorite neighborhood on the island. It’s incredibly convenient to Kahului and the airport, and Baby Beach (just a short walk away) is a gem, perfect for families with its calm, shallow waters.The real standout here is the property itself. The expansive lawns, beautiful lanai, and stunning view made it easy to spend 99% of our time outside, which was exactly what we were looking for in a Maui vacation.We had a great time using this home as our base. While some areas of the property are a bit worn (some older bathrooms and outdoor furniture), Dennis was quick to respond when one of the chairs broke, which we appreciated. One thing to note: the pool is absolutely gorgeous, but deep throughout (no shallow end) so it's not ideal for young children or shorter folks. That said, we’re avid swimmers and loved it.The only real stressor was the lack of detailed instructions around check-in, check-out, and home logistics (e.g., trash, lawn and pool care schedule). We had to reach out for a few details that would have been helpful to have in advance or in a home guide.

We loved having these guests but I sent them detailed instructions how to get there gate codes house codes several times and they for some reason couldn't get them we verified email and text and finally after they called me I gave them the information over the phone the phone i texted them told them check out is simple just do your dishes and empty garbage we do the rest The shallow end of the pool is 4 feet The outdoor furniture is all very expensive teak chairs and table with glass top There's a folder on the desk with garbage instructions when to take it out and bring the container in from the street This is a multi million dollar home With private pool and tennis and pickleball courts The guests were very nice but this was my first time ever not being able to get contact information straight I always at time of booking send directions and codes instructions to the guests personal email along with our contract For some reason I sent it to 2 emails they provided and they said they didn't get it until later after I told them over the phone We provide the folder so you understand about garbage and other things For some reason they text me about garbage etc because they didn't read the information we provided But it's so simple I am available always and we provide a phone also for you to call me and my number is everywhere on every contact 90% of our guests have small children and we have never had a problem with the pool I just hope we can accommodate these nice
