Overall we had a lovely stay. I spent 3 nights there with my kids (late teens and 20s).The land itself is truly amazing - quiet, private and serene. The house is well appointed and we felt like we were home away from home which is what most people traveling are looking for. It was a huge bonus that it is pet friendly and you would never know that it is by the clean condition it is kept in so. Well done cleaning crew! I would have given it 5 stars but there are two concerns.I reached out to the PM when the oven went out while we were preparing dinner on day two. No one ever responded. Fortunately we are resourceful people and dinner only consisted of a frozen pizza that night so we cooked it on the grill and the next day was our last night so we got take out. If it had been a week-long booking, I would have burned up phones but shouldn't have to.The last concern is the wood walkway to the beach. It is in dire need of repairs (screws are backing out, the boards are weathered to the point they are deteriorating (there are a couple of holes, several splits, boards are curling up and the skirtboard is coming off in some areas). I am not confident that the supports are adequate or that they are simply in need of reinforcement as it shakes quite a bit while walking across in the areas where it is higher off the ground. Unsettling.Otherwise the private beach alone was worth the inconveniences but anyone booking should be aware that the aforementioned issues exist.

Beachfront Beauty June 2026

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: My husband and I traveled to Cape Charles with our four adult children recently and had an absolutely fabulous time staying at the Beachfront Beauty property. We hadn't been to Cape Charles in over 10 years and we were impressed that it still has the same charm, but we also enjoyed visiting a few new places and restaurants which are great additions to the town. The house itself is situated on the Chesapeake Bay about 18 minutes from town. We practically had the beach to ourselves except for 3 people who walked by over the course of the week. Given that the house is minutes from Cape Charles, it was amazing to be in a completely private setting where you really couldn't see the neighbors and had a beautiful beach to yourself. The house itself was gorgeous. I really don't think the pictures on the listing do the windows overlooking the land and water justice. The beautiful tall windows in the main living space and in all the bedrooms really brought the view inside and made even sitting inside the house part of the beach experience. We loved everything about the house from the deck, to the screened-in porch,the boardwalk down to private beach, outdoor shower, great bathrooms, beautifully outfitted kitchen that had everything we could need to cook a few meals at the house,to the comfy couch for watching movies in the evening.The Blue Heron team was great to work with from start to finish. We had a minor issue with the front door knob at the house and within a couple of hours the rental agency sent a very nice repairman to fix the problem. It can be tricky to find a house and location that the whole family agrees on, but Beachfront Beauty was a huge hit with all of us. And we're all hoping to go back very soon.

May vacation in VA Eastern Shore

The demographic of the area was beautiful. Bayfront, sand dunes and wooded areas. The best of all worlds.Private. All pet friendly!
