The 1,114 sq ft basement suite is yours, never shared with other guests. Relax in the spacious lounge, sleep in a bedroom with a walk-in closet, and use the washer and dryer in the suite's laundry room (the host also uses it on weekends, for up to 4 hours). You have a private bathroom with shower. North of Sixty Luxury Accommodation is a licensed 1 private bedroom suite, sleeps 4 (double bed, sofa bed and couch; the bed and sofa bed each have a heated electric blanket), in Frame Lake South, Yellowknife, near YZF airport. The kitchenette (not a full kitchen) has a fridge, microwave and coffee machine. There's also streaming TV, Wi-Fi, a crib, a pellet stove and space heater for winter, driveway and street parking, and a fully fenced shared backyard. City of Yellowknife licence 04008715.

Property was not as expected. Said 1 bathroom and one half bathroom. There was one bathroom only and couldn’t even close door properly or lock it. We couldn’t find any half bathroom. No hand washing soap available in bathroom.Said to go to front door in the instructions. The entry door was at the back of the house. For myself with a disability makes a difference for better communication for that.Shows one double sofa bed, it was maybe a large twin. Very very uncomfortable!!!!Everything else was excellent and appreciated. Thank you very much for our stay.

Decent space to live in. Was under the impression that was it more private without the open staircase but was a solid place to sleep and to do any work. Host was a good communicator and was very nice to accommodate for my needs. The addition of the washing and drying machine was nice too as well as the location being walkable to basically anything Canadian around it. A overall good place to stay

The unit should be marketed as a bedroom which was nice, bed was comfortable and clean, unfortunately that where the positives end. There's no separate entrance to the unit (read as basement tv room) so there is no real privacy. It was very cold (I live in the Yukon I'm used to cold) with no way to control the temp even though the furnace beside the bedroom was quite loud, so they supply an electric blanket. The TV was big and new with an apple tv and nice speakers attached big full dramatic sound, but there in lay the issue, if I wanted to watch tv at night it would fill the room and make me concerned I was bothering the family up stairs (that you could clearly make out their movementsThe bathroom was cooler yet and the door did not close. If this was marketed as a semi privet bedroom I would have left a better review. But I was let to believe I was getting a suite. Would not recommend in its current form.

The property was clean, well maintained and centrally located close to many uptown amenities. Walking to downtown or Old town was difficult and required a cab, unless you wanted to walk over 1 hour. Unfortunately my low rating is directly related to the lack of privacy this unit has. The unit shares access through a mudroom that connects directly to a basement unit, with no secure barrier or lock under guest control. This arrangement was not disclosed in the listing, and it caused significant discomfort during our stay due to unexpected foot traffic, noise and the lack of privacy or security in this shared space.

A great stay

The unit was very nice, clean, and stocked with everything you might need. The host went above and beyond to provide coffee and snacks in the unit and checked in to see if I needed anything. It was a good location, quite close to everything you need. I would definitely stay again

Great place!

This is a great place to stay while in Yellowknife and It’s in a perfect location. The host was very easy to deal with and very quick with messaging back! I would definitely stay here again!

Great for group

We had a really enjoyable relaxing stay while in the area for a family wedding. Lots of room for everyone to sleep comfortably, hot tub was a treat and we had enjoyed the big dining room table for card games during the rain.

50th anniversary

We had an absolutely amazing stay. The house was just as advertised and had plenty of room for us to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. In total there was 20 of us ranging from 2-72 years of age. The house was beautoful! The hosts were amazing, quick to answer any questions and to make suggestions ie. photographers in the area. During our stay we even had family photos in their backyard to celebrate my parents 50th and the engagement of my oldest son!! The house was equipped with everything we should have needed and was clean.

Super Stay!

It was absolutely perfect for our family! There were 15 of us ranging in age from 2-73! It fit us all perfectly with room to spare! Everything about the place met or exceeded expectations! We would rent it again and would recommend it to anyone travelling to Scotch Creek!

Fantastic Family Fun

The "cabin" that 15 of us stayed in at Scotch Creek was the best accommodation we have encountered in our 7 years of family gatherings. It was beautifully laid out to accommodate different age groups and activities (board games, jigsaw puzzle, video games, reading, hide and seek!). The kitchen and linen supplies were above and beyond expectations. Proximity to the lake, availability of rentals, delightful decks and the huge hot tub also added to the desirability of the property. The only problem - if too many people know how spectacular this property is, there won't be room for us to return.

Scotch Creek Family Vacation/Reunion

The location close to the beach is great, and the size of the house is good for accommodating a large group. Lots of parking. Some of the amenities are top notch ie the dishwasher and the barbeques. Lots of fridges, 2 in the house and 2 small ones on the side patio. The kitchen is well stocked with dishes but lacking some larger cookware. Beds were comfortable and nice bedding. The arcade game was a big hit with our grandkids. No air conditioning so it was warm, especially in the evening and night. Lots of fans so that helped. The house, patios and deck are great besides needing a bit of maintenance ie stain, but we were a bit dissapponted in the yard and firepit area- it wasn't as nice as in the pictures. The back deck is shaded by trees so that was awesome, and the patio lights are a nice touch. We almost didn't get to use the hot tub/swim spa as there was an issue with the filtering when we got there. The host called the spa company to come the next day and then it was going to be Tuesday, then ended up they didn't come until after we left on Friday. Luckily we own one and were able to get the water inhabitable for the 2nd half of our stay. This amenity was important to us, as we think it would be to a lot of guests. Overall our family had a great time. Thank you to our host Jen for being flexible to our needs and helping to make this a memorable and enjoyable holiday!

Best family get away.

It was more than we thought it would be, home and surroundings were beautiful. Everything we needed was there that we needed. The beds were so comfortable and the bedding was top notch. The children loved it so much they didn’t want to go home. We plan to go back.

Karen, Jennifer and their spouses were great hosts. There was some last minute changes to the amenities due to damage from previous guests, but they were wonderful at ensuring we would have an amazing time and we did! If you’re looking for a place that will accommodate a large group with enough space to not feel cramped, this is a great spot. There’s lots of outdoor/indoor areas and it’s very close to the lake!
