The GarageMahal was a sweet little cabin with all you could want, and more! The kitchen had everything you need for cooking in, bathroom, bedrooms, and living room were comfy & cozy. The waterfalls and stream were beautiful, the scenery and grounds around the cabin amazing, and you couldn’t want for better hosts. There was a pumpkin and an indoor mum plant - a welcome touch for our October Stay! Highly recommend!

Great property, great location for outdoor adventures. All of us (two adults, three children (1 years,3 years and 5 years old) had a blast. We especially enjoyed the easy access to hiking trails (we did the waterfalls in the back of the property and the boardwalk twice, ventured into Dolly Sods during the rain and made a stop at Blackwater Falls State Park on our way back). Kids enjoyed the selection of toys that was available and the house was the perfect refuge from the elements. Hosts made everything easy.

The property was a great location to the event we were in town for. The Host were great. Yes they live right by where the rental is, but only saw them coming or going. They were very friendly to talk to and made you feel like it was your property.you had a nice yard to use and a nice hiking trail right there to hike. We had outer 2 dogs and was great for them to have a place to run. Would rent this place again. The house was very clean and they prov8ded what you need. It was nice that they l8ve right there as we locked ourselves out the one day and was able to just walk over and get another key. Thanks and hope to see you next year

The Garagemahal is wonderful! The location cannot be beat. Chip and Laurie were helpful and friendly hosts, fixing a small thing very quickly when we reached out. Even though their house is nearby, they provided plenty of space and privacy and made us feel very welcome to enjoy the home and property. The home was clean, comfortable, and spacious, equipped with useful essentials. The deck is huge - great for outdoor meals and relaxing with a view of the large yard and forest that leads to mountain and valley trails, or the dark sky (we saw 5 shooting stars on our last night!). There's a firepit and access to miles of trails, including one that starts at the edge of the yard and runs uphill along a creek with several very pretty small waterfalls within the first half mile or so. The location is amazing, right in Canaan Valley National Wildlife Refuge (the popular Freeland Boardwalk Trail is on the way - listen and look there for frogs, beavers, birds, and balsam fir trees), very close to Canaan Valley Resort State Park, and not too far to Dolly Sods Wilderness, Davis and Blackwater Falls State Park, and more. We couldn't imagine a better place to stay for our outdoorsy vacation week!

Garage Mahal is perfect! It’s clean, it’s convenient, it’s in a beautiful setting, the hosts are amazing, charming, and welcoming. The house is well stocked. There are thoughtful touches everywhere. Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay!

It was a very nice place to stay. It was clean and had all the basics one would need- towels, bedding, plenty of cooking supplies. The area was very quiet and the owners were very friendly. There is a slight musty smell, but we were there in a hot and humid spell so that could be expected.

We both bragged on how important pets are to a family and found out that you were a vet. Appreciate the review and comments. The musty smell is likely a combination of the first floor garage that can at times be noticed and the high heat and humid smoky conditions of this summer. It certainly is not from the upper apartment itself and this is the first feedback like this and we'll try to figure out how to fix this for the renters of the future. Enjoy the rest of your summer and please visit the UP of Michigan especially Copper Harbor like we talked about while you were here. Cheers and love our pets! Chip and Laujrie

This was my first solo trip in over 25 years!I am a DV survivor and was absolutely terrified of going on this trip solo!! The location was beyond my expectations; as not only did I feel safe enough to not lock the doors, but I was able to relax and sleep better than I have in a long time!Knowing Chuck and Laurie were close, but so respectful of me being there means more than they will ever know!Thank y'all for allowing me to experience this!The house is very well stocked with every day needs, clean and beyond my expectation!I awoke to a bear the first morning. Lol. I've never moved so fast to get back inside, but, it too was a reminder of the simplicity of life that God desires for us if we are willing to trust in Him.I cannot say enough positive things about this property! You must experience it for yourself! I will return to the area, and I will definitely stay here again!

Very well appointed cabin in close proximity to so many points of interest. Excellent friendly hosts - we absolutely love them. Don’t know who we love more the hosts or the cabin. An extraordinary setting; a nature preserve in its own right. Everything we needed in a rental and then some. We loved it so much. It was hard to leave. Hope to come back soon.

We had a wonderful stay in this comfortable and cozy apartment. We cooked, relaxed, and skied out the front door. The kitchen was well-appointed with everything we needed to make a nice meal and the living area was very comfortable. All in all, a very peaceful and relaxing getaway!

This was the perfect home base for a quick two-night trip. The location couldn't have been better—we loved being so close to the hiking trails and getting outside right away! After a long day of hiking, the comfortable beds and cozy space were exactly what we needed to relax. Highly recommend this property.

Overall really great stay. House is in an excellent location near tons of hiking spots. Kitchen is well stocked. Very clean. Only minor critiques are that beds are not very comfortable and the unit is a little closer to the owner's house than expected.

My first visit to West VA. What a great rental, so clean and comfortable, dog friendly, close to shops, hiking, pubs and restaurants in Davis. The owner couldn't have been more friendly. We had a great bonfire, cooked on the grill, walked the trails and walked to the beautiful creek right on the property. Only good things to say about THE Garagemahal! Beautiful area!
