We had a great time in this house, the management team and the owner were amazing, responded very quickly to our needs. Very smooth check-in and check out. Good for families with kids.

The house was beautiful and comfortable. Everything you need is there. The owner communicated wonderfully with us. Close to the beach. Golf cart was fast! We booked last minute and they accommodated us and made us feel welcome. Plenty of towels, beach and bathroom towels. We would stay again for sure!!

Great stay! The owner was incredibly responsive when we had a little hiccup and helped solve the issue immediately. Would stay again! Great pricing and beautiful home!

Did not have a good experience. Interior is nice though. Be sure to receive all information pertaining to golf cart in working order (back up, if not). Would never charge since we arrived. Use of amenities (host does not have club membership), so you are only able to use the public pool and hot tub, and the working condition of television (outside). You will not be able to sit outside at ground level. Tremendous amount of mosquitos, even with mosquito repellent. Also, we were not assisted on departure day, even after messaging management and host. They were aware of the time we were scheduled to take the ferry. There were 9 of us and we had to make 2 trips with luggage. Almost missed the ferry. The bedding and furniture were nice. Refrigerator takes at least 12 hours to get cold. We were told by management to put in freezer until then. This was only after I contacted them and food was getting warm. I will definitely be visiting the island again because we love it there, but not here.

Amazing Time

Turtle Nest did not disappoint. Home was bigger and better that the pictures!! 😊 Kitchen had everything we needed, beds were comfortable, TV was super easy to use and we had no internet issues. Beach is really close and we walked back and forth several times. Location of the house is perfect and close to Barnacles and Mangos which we visited while we were there. Taylor, the owner was amazing and resolved any issues we had immediately! Tortuga Properties was also easy to contact, and extremely pleasant to work with! A terrific stay was had by all and we are already planning for next year!! Thank you Taylor for sharing your beach house with us.. we loved it!!

Great location!

Our second trip to North Captiva did not disappoint! The Turtle Nest is located walking distance to the beach (or you can take the golf cart and park it and the end of the road.) Also close to Mainstay and Barnacle's in case you're looking for a Captiva Breeze or ice cream. The house had everything we needed for our stay and was the perfect size for our group (3 adults and 3 kids). The WIFI and cell service is spotty but who needs contact with the mainland when you're in paradise?! Will be back again soon!

Can’t wait to come back

Great house! Don’t pass it up. Lots of room, easy place to relax, very short walk to the beach. We got lucky and had the owner’s golf cart for our stay due to the other one being in the shop (some reviews said the golf cart was not in good shape, so worried about that). Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Beds are comfortable, lots of towels, pillows and beach towels. Some things need updating but wasn’t a reason to not go back. Only complaint was the wifi was not good or reliable at all, and we were unable to use the tv for that reason also (wanted to watch a movie one night). There are tons of dvds there but all kids movies. Thanks for having us!

Turtle nest was okay for our needs.

We rented 3 houses on north captiva for some family and friends to stay in for a wedding. The house was okay, the beds were large and comfortable, but the rooms are small. The house could do with some care. Yard had debris laying in it . The crows nest is very sketchy and dangerous. The Tortuga management are very attentive and when we had a dead golf cart they came right away to fix it. Good house, just needs some help

Communication was great! We loved the property. Highly recommend having Chef Bo come over and cook while you are there! Great family stay!

Relaxing on the island.

Overall stay was wonderful. House was clean and description is very accurate. It is very basic but has everything you need and plenty of room for a large group. The golf cart that is left for your use is the only complaint - it is old and needs to be replaced asap. There is not a lot to do on the island so plan on relaxing and entertaining yourself. Bikes and kayaks are available for free rental with this property. Property management was not great about communicating before arrival but once you get there and start your vacation they are the best. They work very hard to make sure you have everything you need so tip appropriately. Michael was the best. We traveled to the island with our own boat which gave us many options each day to explore.

A fabulous time had by all (ages 22 months-71)

We loved our stay. The house was actually bigger than we'd expected from the pictures and the layout is great with 2 bedrooms up and 2 down. Everyone had their own space and those that got up early were able to let the others sleep. The attached tower with screened dining area and lookout crow's nest another floor up was the BEST!! Great for sunrises, sunsets and star gazing. The property was in good shape with a few things that need fixing but very comfortable and suited our family of 8 perfectly. Lots of towels and beach towels available. There were also sand toys, beach chairs and a little raft. We brought a few games which was good. The water is drinkable but has a different taste, however we found the Mangos store has gallons of water for purchase. Tortuga Property was great. We had late and early arrival and departure times and they were ready for us on both legs. They were very responsive when we needed anything. We would definitely recommend this property. One of our best vacations ever!

Can’t wait to go back

Ferry and check in process with property management was amazing. They quickly resolved problem with the golf carts. Carried all of our luggage up all the stairs. House was clean in most areas Only problems was there were sand ants everywhere. Had a leak in the downstairs bathroom while on our stay and the property management had someone out immediately and fixed the problem. House needs alittle bit of updates otherwise it was perfect beach style house and the outside deck and look out were just amazing. Over all we were extremely happy!

Great family vacation

After a very stressfull check-in day we had a great time. (It took two hours for the management company staff to get our luggage, groceries and other belongings to the house. Meanwhile, my husband became overheated.) The house was not steps to the beach, but it was within walking distance. The house was perfect for a large family...we had plenty of room for six adults and five very active children. The beach was great! The location was extremely beautiful and peaceful. The owner was very responsive.

Best vacation ever

It was in an excellent location. I loved when the food was delivered that the gentleman brought it right to the house and carried it up the stairs for us. I loved the golf cart transportation and easy access to activities and the ocean water.

Christmas Vacation

Decent house in ok location; however, there had been little to no clean of the property since the hurricanes. Not really 360 degree views from the less than safe crows nest. Listing also included a cart which was not available during our stay, so I had to rent additional carts on my own. Could use newer bed linens and towels, appliances, and fixtures. To sum it up if you’re looking for a very basic house without view and a lot of stairs this is the house for you.

5 star Island 2 Star Property

For the price we paid to stay here, I felt like the property was fairly dated and lacking amenities that other properties had. Golf carts were consistently breaking down on us, the hot water heater was out from the minute we got there. Thankfully the property manager let us use another house where we could shower, but it was still a major inconvenience. Lots of other miscellaneous broken items in the house including the outdoor shower, a toilet upstairs and one of the sinks in the basement didn't work. Good luck figuring out which of the 7 TV remotes works the TV upstairs. Couldn't figure out the internet the entire time we were there. The crow's nest is death trap and in desperate need of an update or repairs. There was trash outback from the previous tenants and was never picked up. On the last night we were there, it looked like some raccoons got into it. I would definitely come back to North Captiva but would avoid staying at this place again. It's a shame because this property really has the potential to be a lot nicer with a little more attention to the details.

Beautiful Island, not a great house

Our trip started off on a bad note when a team member of the property mgt group picked us up, he just had an annoyed attitude from the start. It was hot and a holiday weekend so I am sure they were busy but part of their "service" is that they pick you and your luggage/groceries up and take you to your house, he seemed annoyed and commented something about our house and all the stairs (which btw MOST of the houses on the island have several flights) We had 2 golf carts waiting for us (which we were told were loaner carts, not the owners that those were in the shop, which was fine) but there was a pack of cigarettes with empty butts in them and a few other pieces of trash....you would think they would throw that away. I had also rented a crib from them which was not there when we got there, I quickly got a pack-n-play but that should have been noted on our stay. We had a few questions in the beginnnig and the response was VERY slow, it wasn't until someone else from the team came by (on accident she meant to be at the neighbors checking in) and we happened to be outside and expressed our frustrations that things seem to turn around. One golf cart died in the road, they were quick to get it and replace it. The house itself needs some TLC, the upstairs and kitchen area are really getting run down, the blinds don't work properly, the screened in porch had a big hole in it and the fan and light didn't work (which we told them but never got a resolution). No shower pressure upstairs, used the downstairs bathroom which seems to have been more recently updated, the others were old. The house was clean when we arrived but I think because its getting run down it does not feel that way. Tons of beach towels which was great. We would not rent this house again. The island itself was beautiful and we look forward to going back.

Dreamed home

The house was absolutely beautiful and fantasticly located. The decoration was amazing from top to bottom. The owners were always very friendly and responsive to our concerns and accommodated all our needs. The only issue were the golf carts but we managed it. There were plenty of beach and bathroom towels. I cant wait to go back again.

Lovely house

The house is really nice and comfortable. Amazing services. Quick response at any issue. Great for kids. Be aware that the last water taxi to get to the island is at 5,30 so you can’t plan arrive later than that unless you paid for a private boat.
