Oceanfront - Sunset Condo

CASA DE EMDEKO-borettslag ligger ved havet i den verdensberømte byen Kailua-Kona på Big Island of Hawaii. I motsetning til mange eiendommer føles alt med Casa bare som Hawaii. Denne leiligheten er renovert og smakfullt innredet. Nyt den store private lanai som har utsikt over havet med nattlige fremste rad utrolige solnedganger.

Casa er en av de få gjenværende eiendommene der du kan nyte kveldene under tradisjonelle Hawaiian Tiki fakler.

Casa de Emdeko har to svømmebassenger i lokalene. Det ene er et ferskvannsbasseng og det andre et saltvannsbasseng som ledes direkte inn fra havet. Bare noen få skritt unna ligger en sandstrand med lenestoler og bord slik at du kan nyte havet.

La vinduene åpne og sovne til lydene av bølger på stranden. Vakkert anlagt grunnlag og et fossefall er en fryd for den lokale ville parakittbestanden. Ingen fôring takk. Om natten vil du sette pris på godt opplyste stier og begrunnelse.

Beautiful unit at Casa de Emdeko

Immaculate and beautifully updated. Best view of sunsets and perfect for whale watching from lanai. We loved our stay!

May Stay

Arrived to find previous occupants had left the air on with windows open. This brought moisture into the unit and leaving a musty smell. Part of our group could not stay because of health issues so they got a hotel room. The tv was nonfunctional also so we let the owner know of the issues. He was able to bring the cleaning crew in and had the tv replaced. He was responsive to the issues and made things right. Nice quiet location and enjoyed the stay for the most part.

Roaches and needs upgrade

The place was not very clean, shower is dirty, old appliances and place needs upgrade. Every time I cooked roaches came up the side of stove it was disgusting I was killing roaches while trying to cook. I am fearful roaches in my personal belongings. I was also surprised we had to wash all the towels. I’ve never stayed in room that I had to do laundry. Someone let themselves in our unit while we were there and walked in saying he didn’t know we were occupying the room. This place needs complete remodel and spraying for roaches weekly do the come out of units

Geraldine -Sorry we didn’t meet your expectations…You can see by our numerous 5star reviews we try very hard to make Our guests comfortable. Must say, we are puzzled by your comments about our towels and appliances….the microwave, dishwasher, fridge and washer/dryer are new! Stove is older but is in perfect working order. We have from time to time seen cockroaches in the bathrooms. It’s Hawaii and they do show up. Once again sorry you were disappointed. Mike & Betsy

Good location but needs work

The unit is spacious and located in a well-kept resort. The pools and grounds are lovely and the view is great. The ocean is very nice to listen to from the bedrooms. The place needs a deep-cleaning, windows are dirty, master bath shower is grungy, found a used mask and a sock beside the bed, appliances all work but the washer is so noisy you can’t have a conversation in the living room when it’s running. A/C works but not super cool and it’s noisy. The slider going to the Lanai is hard to work, needs two hands to open and close, and the screen is equally uncooperative, the tub drain is slow. It’s just stuff that is not great but the price is not the highest either, so I guess you get what you pay for. They provided two garbage bags and two rolls of tp and no paper towels. Four of us stayed 11 nights and seriously it is not as if we would take extra supplies home in our luggage. If you want people to remove garbage and recycling it would be prudent to provide them bags. We made do and hauled it off, but I have never, ever had to buy garbage bags in a rental unit. The owner asked us to let the plumber in on a day we would be out and then we no longer had a functioning toilet in the master bath. The owner has agreed to refund part of our fee, but this should never be part of a vacation. Bottom line is, it’s a fair price for a B- unit. It feels like the owner is doing the bare minimum in maintenance and cleaning but the location is great.

We booked this unit last minute due to a change to our travel to Maui. This property is older and needs some maintenance. I will give the staff who maintain the common areas (bbq, man-made beach and outdoor seating) props for their care and attention. They were out in the early mornings attending to these areas. The condo itself is dated and would benefit with a thorough cleaning. Kitchen and bathroom tiles are cracked, ceiling fans draped with dust, the ensuite shower door appears to have either dirt or mold around the outer edges. On the third day of our stay, the property had a scheduled water shutoff for necessary maintenance. After the water was turned back on, we lost the use of hot water. I emailed the owner, with no response, so we had cold showers for the remaining 8 days of our stay. I emailed the owner after we left and received a response stating the property was awaiting parts. Other than that, the condo is spacious and is in a great location for sunset viewing.

Amazing

We had a wonderful time staying here! It was perfect for my husband and I and our two kids (ages 7 and 10). We swam every day (sometimes a day) in the pools, barbecued during the sunset, chatted with other residents and loved the ocean sounds from our rooms. The lanai was spectacular and a fully stocked condo was perfect. So many great memories made on this trip. Thank you for the wonderful and affordable accommodations!

Great location, great amenities

I Am very frustrated with this VRBO review website, I wrote a lpng and glowing 5-star review of this property and the site deleted it! Suffice to say we 4 adults had a great time,Owner was very helpful, nice gated parking, lovely ocean sunset views from the unit, and great accessories come with the unit (spices, beach items). Great pools, grills. Unit was dated but very clean, riomy, well appointed with AC and wash/dryer. Highly recommended, 5-star.

Wonderful stay at Casa 217!

We had a great vacation staying in this unit! I was very familiar with Casa de Emdeko, but this unit is much more spacious than most, and has a totally amazing view from the lanai. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating and very kindly arranged for a check in as soon as we arrived-- much appreciated after a 4:30 am pickup to the airport! The beds were comfortable; the unit very clean, and more completely furnished with every detail: no need as I discovered to pack a sewing kit or a flashlight; cupboard full of spices and other staples; hairdryer in each of the two bathrooms. As an older traveler with some mobility issues, I was very pleased by the large walk in shower with a supportive hand rail. We fed our chicken bones to the almost tame moray eels in the tidepools and saw three "green flash" sunsets the first week from the lanai. I highly recommend this unit, and want to thank Mike and Betsy for the opportunity to enjoy it on our vacation.

In need Of pest control

We stayed there for a total of 6 days and seven nights. The location was the only good part of this property. The blankets were not freshly washed. The sheets had stains on them, so did the towels. Master bathroom shower lights were not working. It was dark and moldy in the drain. The kitchen was full of ants and cockroaches. We understand this is a warm place, but with much needed pest control this place could be kept in better shape. On the last stretch of our vacation, we had to have cold showers for the days in a row. We came back from the beach dirty and iky and found out that there was no hot water in the entire community. We texted the property manager at around 9.30 but never heard back until the next day. In the meantime spoke to another resident and got to know that there was no hot water in all units. There was no communication to us about it and no ETA. Overall not as good as the ratings suggest it to be. Thank you.

Amrita - Thank you for staying at our Kona Oceanside condo. I must say I’m surprised at you review. I must apologize again for the lack of hot water during your stay. As I explained to you at the time, the boilers for the entire complex went down on Christmas Eve. The were put back on line as quickly as possible. As for the other issues you stated, the bedding is kept clean at all times, we have regularly scheduled pest control and the bathrooms were sanitized and recaulked when we were there in late November. We talked two or three times during your stay and you never mentioned any theses items. ??? Once again I apologize for the unfortunate hot water situation. All is up and working now. Good property.. But too many stairs for seniorsrs

Lovely setting. Clean, easy communication. Good a/c and ceiling fans. Wonderful salt water pool and clean grounds. Accessibility is poor if one has difficulty with stairs and handling luggage. The elevator was useless and you had to climb stairs to utilize it. Property is on an incline so stairs needed for all at casa de emdenko.

Very nice piece of paradise

This is a gem, nice secluded area but conveniently close to all the hot spots where you can dine, shop, and enjoy entertainment or you can just relax at the fully supplied spacious condo and enjoy the pool and ocean view. You only hear the ocean no traffic noise. It truly is paradise.

Kona Coast Beauty

Well maintained. Spacious with large lanai overlooking pool area with ocean views. there were boogie boards and a cooler that we used for the beach. Cleaning crew comes every morning to wipe down tables and chairs by pools. Hoses down walkways and cleans the grills. Everyone was respectful of quiet hours. Peaceful. Would definitely book here again. The host, Mike, responded to text messages promptly .

Nice complex although parking is difficult

The complex is very nice and well maintained. The parking is a bit inconvenient when you have suitcases or groceries as it is not next to the unit. The salt water pool is great when it’s open. The unit is outdated and needs a deep clean and new towels. No beach chairs or umbrellas in the condo. We rented from a store downtown. The location of the complex is great.

Amy - Thank you for your stay and your review. The short walk from the parking area guarantees you never hear road noise from our unit. That was one of the things that was important when we purchased. Too many Kona oceanfront complexes have excessive road noise! We have instructed the cleaning staff to deep clean the unit & replenish the towel supply. We don’t advertise we provide beach chairs or umbrellas, sorry. The unit is up for remodel after the winter season. Unfortunately it will be followed by a substantial rate increase. Right now two bedrooms on the ocean for $190 a night is a great deal! Glad we have been able to offer that rate. Mahalo, Mike & Betsy

Great View of the ocean. Beautiful grounds.

Easy access to the condo was wonderful. It is in a great location.
