Dating back to around 1830, this adobe house with shingle roofing and a sandstone staircase has been preserved almost entirely in its original architectural style: <br>From the building materials to the hinges, windows, doors, and flooring—right down to the room layout—everything in this spacious vacation home has been left exactly as it was found. The old half-timbered house, epitomized by its massive oak beams, was built with an emphasis on ecology and sustainability. The freshly renovated romantic cottage, featuring a modernized country style, exudes a unique country-house charm. No two rooms are alike, so each guest can choose their sleeping quarters according to their own taste.<br><br>Our Nibelungen vacation home offers plenty of space for up to 6 people—whether couples, families, or even a group of friends. When the weather gets too hot, you can spend lovely days in the shade of the adjoining barn, which has also been lovingly renovated and invites you to linger. Do our guests feel like grilling? With the OFYR—which serves as both a grill and a fire pit—you can enjoy mild summer days outdoors.<br>From the vacation home, the view sweeps down toward Güttersbach. Right next door is a swimming pool with a playground and a beach volleyball court. Many hiking trails start right from the cottage. This makes it the perfect base for exploring the area around Güttersbach, the Mossau Valley, and the Odenwald. Until 10 p.m., you’re free to do whatever your heart desires. So just sit back, enjoy the view, and find some peace and quiet! Please note that the Güttersbach Outdoor Pool Festival traditionally takes place on the first weekend in July. On this evening, there may be increased background noise lasting well into the night.<br><br>Special Benefits<br>Since the vacation home accommodates up to 6 people, groups of different ages can stay at the Nibelungen Premium Cottage. This serves as the hub for a variety of activities. <br>Whether it’s cooling off in the swimming pool located directly below—complete with a volleyball court and children’s playground—or visiting the Marbach Reservoir, just a stone’s throw away, where you can go fishing and enjoy freshly brewed coffee and delicious cakes at the on-site café. <br>There are also a large number of hiking trails in and around Güttersbach, such as the Nibelungensteig, which explores the legend of Siegfried and Hagen. In addition to day hikes, multi-day hiking trails around the legendary Odenwald and the Bergstraße District Geopark are also available. <br><br>Of course, a visit to the Hüttenthaler Dairy and Cheese Factory is a must, as the producers source fresh milk from cows in and around Güttersbach. Thanks to the Lenz Trout Farm in Güttersbach, fresh fish is always on the menu.
