Super charming house. The photos don’t do it justice. Extra parking in back. Walking distance from a variety of restaurants. We are recommending it to our friends who are visiting the area soon.

The house was dirty and had an odor. The host was clearly aware as evidenced by the dollar store air fresheners in every room. The living room furniture was stained. Pillows on the beds were visibly stained. Every night stand, end table, and surface were covered in dust and grime. Floors, baseboards, stairs and window all dirty. I rented the house for family that was visiting but could not allow them to stay there. I followed the instructions to report any problems within 24 hours but they refused to refund the full cost. The property manager said that she had visited a week prior and found no problems. Both she and the realtor who manage the property should be ashamed. Do not rent without reading all of the reviews!! There are complaints going back years citing odor and even bugs. In each case the property manager, Tina, replies blaming all of the issues on the renters. I'm sure she will try to do the same to this review. There was no quick fix to the condition of this property. The house had not been cleaned properly in a LONG time. Do not think that I am overreacting because the house is old. I prefer older homes with character. No rental should have dirty linens.

We loved our stay here! My kids and I really enjoyed just imagining all the history of the place and those who lived there (like imagining how they lived back then with no ac). It was just minutes walk from the beach and some of the most delicious restaurants we've had in a while. We stayed for the 4th of July weekend specifically to watch the fireworks at the beach and it was the perfect spot. Would book again!

Beautiful house! Very close to Parris island for families looking for a great place to stay when your Marine graduates! I have already recommended it to families that have upcoming graduations. It really is a beautiful home and we enjoyed it very much

The home is in a great location. It has a lot of historical charm, a beautiful huge oak w spanish moss in the yard, and a covered front porch and upper balcony. Check-in was simple, a code for the lock box on the front door.

Everything worked in the house as it should. There's an issue with cleanliness that I let the property manager know about. The upstairs bathroom has an old clawfoot tub with a shower curtain around each side and it's a little difficult to navigate when taking a shower. All of the antique furniture is a plus if you like that sort of thing.

We have stayed in numerous locations in the Beaufort area. Many of them are also historic locations, but this place was a disappointment. It smelled like cat urine. I was in town for a job interview and there was no hairdryer or iron/ironing board. The location is great, but overall was a disappointment.

Property was as listed. Great Stay. Loved the convenience and location. I do think the place would be a little warm in the summer months; but found everything else to be great! It was a wonderful place to stay in a great little community.

Great location, but the property needs an update

The property is older as is noted in the listing. But it could definitely use some updates across-the-board. There was a dead squirrel on the front porch. The listing agent came immediately and took care of it. There are two other apartments on the property. We did have some challenges with the person in the upstairs apartment, not wanting us to park where it was noted we should park, the listing agent also took care of that very quickly

Very quaint house in great location

My family stayed at this property for a week in July. We loved the location - very quiet neighborhood and beautiful downtown Beaufort is only a 20 min drive away. The house is exactly as described in the listing. No frills, but had all the needed items for a relaxing stay. Beds were comfortable and the overall feel of the house definitely fits the area - rustic and relaxing. Some things to note: * As the listing says, the upstairs does get warm over the summer. We adjusted the vents as noted in the listing details, but if you are someone who likes

Great spot!

Great spot, brought our small dog, walked everywhere. Place was very clean and had all items, like towels and napkins, easily accessible. High ceiling which was lovely. Bathroom was very clean. We would stay again! Only con that’s not even really a con- The clawfoot tub is so cute and clean, water pressure great BUT as a tall person I felt unstable and didn’t know where to hold onto should I fall while showering. This is probably a personal problem….

Beautiful house

We enjoyed our stay. If you are interested in history this is the house for you, and most of the furniture is era correct. The host communicates very well, which is a huge bonus. The home is extremely clean.

Perfect location for MCRD events

Our group attended family day and graduation for our new Marine. The drive from the property to the base was under 10 minutes- and that matters at 5 am! The property, particularly the kitchen, was very well equipped for all of our needs. Comfortable beds, quality linens throughout, informative guest book, easy check in/ check out ( once we learned how to open the lockbox!). Parking was easy and convenient. The town of Port Royal is charming, and everyone we encountered was very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely consider visiting again!

Terrible

House was flea infested and had to leave after 1 full night.My 14 lb dog was blamed who had been groomed and flea treated on the 9th of June,they claim exterminator had to come 3 times. I was told I would be given partial refund and then they denied. I asked to speak directly to owner and was also denied. This was a total dissappoinment

Our company has been the property manager for this home 2014 - 2016 for the previous owner and from 2016 - present with the current owner. We have never had an issue with fleas in the home in the entire 9 years our company has been managing it. EVER. The last quarterly treatment for this home was done on Monday, June 12. The main furnished home (unit A) was treated as well as the two rear apartments (units B & C), both inside and outside. These units are not on regular treatment due to ongoing issues. This is preventative treatment. The current owner, who lives in Pennsylvania and owns a bed and breakfast there, actually came down and stayed in the house from June 13 - June 20. She does not have any pets and had no issue with fleas during her stay. We also had vacation guests who rented the home June 21 - 23 after the owner left. They also had no pets with them nor reported any fleas. We also had no reports of issues from Deborah until she had been there for 2 nights. Even then, I offered to send our exterminator over right away. If there had been an existing infestation, she should have noticed right away, just as I did when I went over to check the house after the morning they checked out on (Monday June 25). I immediately had fleas jump on me within a few minutes of being inside of the house. Therefore, the only conclusion we can make is that the fleas came from their pet. Her stating that her dog had been treated for fleas tells me there was an active problem with fleas for this pet. We have sent our exterminator over three times since they checked out. We were unable to try and rent the house in the weeks since their departure due to getting this under control. We should have but did not seek compensation for the extra costs incurred as a result of having the home treated multiple times due to their pet. I told her we would forgo seeking compensation in lieu of not granting them a refund. I have been in continual contact with the owner with updates and she did not wish to speak to the guests.
