Coastal Relaxation

Thank you for a well-cared-for property. It was clean, convenient, and within view of the beach. The things that were not our favorite (but not a complaint) were the stairs up to the kitchen and living room, the huge windows without curtains, and the scary downhill parking space. Again, not a complaint. The house was as promised and advertised. We celebrated our 56th anniversary there. Thanks.

We'll equipped and excellent location

Excellent location with beautiful views and walkable to restaurant, store and beach. Thoughtful items in kitchen and bathroom...things that you might have forgotten to pack like qtips, lotion, etc. The host responded very quickly and clearly. The whole family appreciated the space.

Great quirky house

The house is great in many ways. A bit more run down on the outside than is shown in the pictures. The main living area is upstairs but the only bathroom is downstairs with the bedrooms. There are several pots and pans that will not work with the induction stove; they should be removed. And there were several bulbs out so the lighting was quite dim. The location is great for walking to the beach. Overall a great place to stay; would be perfect if there were more attention to details.

I'll be back!

This location in the hidden gem town at Dillon Beach is amazing! The resort restaurant and general store are across the street and it's just a 5 min walk down the street to the beach. 1 hr to San Francisco or Napa and lots to explore in the nearby towns like Freestone. The house has a well stocked kitchen with newer appliances and is well maintained. I would have loved coat hangers in the bedroom closets to hang clothes, but otherwise the place had everything I needed! Can't wait to come back.

Great place!

Lovely property, close to the beach. My only complaint was the wall heater in one of the rooms did not work and it was quite cold but the bed was nice and warm!

Terrible

Dear Host, I appreciate you hosting, however, I have some feedback going forward. Our stay for 2 nights was anything but what your listing advertised and it seems as though even the pictures have been manipulated/ photoshopped. I'd first like to start with the general smell of black mold (toxic) as you enter the house. I have also included a photo of it on the window sill upstairs. This is a hazard for anyone that rents your listing. We couldn't use the shower, since the shower head does not attach and falls on you while you are rinsing off. We had someone try to use the shower and it hit them directly in the forehead. The toilet seat could not be used, it is corroded and probably has not been changed in 20 years. This is just a $20 fix to help guests to be able to use the toilet. We wanted to drink coffee in the morning on the upstairs deck and the outdoor furniture was infested with bugs/ spiders (also see attached photo). The indoor furniture is stained and dirty. We had to use towels in order to even use them. The bed sheets are made out of plastic, not cotton, which makes it difficult to sleep. Overall, we were not able to spend any time at VRBO and I would like to give a 1 out of 10 stars. I would appreciate it if you could refund at least one night's stay as this place needs extreme care and maintenance and is not usable for hosting.

Walk to the beach

The location is amazing--my kids were able to walk to the beach by themselves (after some careful instructions on where to cross the street). The General Store is a 2 minute walk away for whatever you may have forgotten to bring (warning: prices are steep). The partial view of the ocean from the living room is lovely. The kitchen is has all the basics implements you need to cook with. Beds were comfy but the rest of the furniture was not (especially the couch). The driveway is at a very sharp angle and may be difficult for someone with mobility issues. Overall very good value, given that we spent most of our time at the beach!

Nice Location Old House

Nice Location in Dillon Beach. Two bedrooms and 1 bath small but fine. TV didn’t work well. Some pots didn’t work on the induction stove. Black mold on kitchen window sill. Baseboards need cleaning. Handrail sticky. We managed just fine

In response to your observation about the window, we inspected the area and found that it's not mold; rather, the frame has rusted due to the salt air at the beach. Your feedback regarding the cleanliness of the baseboards and handrail has been duly noted. Canceled on us 30 minutes before check-in.

We made this reservation 6 months in advance for a 2 night stay. We drove 3 hours to stay at Dillon beach. Check-in is at 4pm. We arrived at 1pm to camp there and had this vrbo for our parents who cannot camp. We also had it as a backup for our baby in case he couldn’t handle camping. 30 minutes before check-in they canceled on us saying there was a power outage. No compensation for the 30 min before check in late notice. We asked around the area and there was no power outage. Ridiculous!! We love Dillion beach and visit often. We will never vrbo with this company to safe us the headache of last minute cancellation. Get one of the cottages instead!!

Jennifer, We are very sorry we had to cancel your reservation. WE were having electrical problems at this cottage and PGE turned off the electrical to this house. We cannot rent a house without electrical. This was beyond our control. We have discovered what the problem is and the electrical panel needs to be replaced, to date it has not been replaced and we are hoping that the electrician can get to it by the end of the month. IF you will please note that the entire month has been blocked off at this house until the electrician can replace the panel. Again our sincere apologies , we never want to cancel a reservation however without electrical it was not possible for you to stay in the house.

Excellent communication!

The location was perfect! We didnt have to drive to the beach or store. The only that didn't work out on this trip was The Dillon Beach Cafe closed at 5pm when the told us 6pm the night before. Obviously not a problem caused by the vacation rental, but don't count on the cafe for dinner.

Nice Dillon Beach Experience

Our overall experience was very good. The property was clean and comfortable. However, the on line photos don't show the wear on the property and furniture. The view of the ocean and beach was limited but we enjoyed it. Being able to walk to the beach was wonderful. The cottage was right on Dillon Beach Road which made traffic noise an issue at times.

Great time!

This house is close to the general store, which has amazing ice cream cones, and has an easy path to the beach. We stayed at the beach until the sunset and was able to watch the fog roll in before walking back to the house. We spent most of our time playing games at the kitchen table. It can get a little stuffy upstairs but as soon as you open the slider, the fresh air fills the room. We love this house and will keep staying here!

Enjoyable time

Enjoyed the view from both decks n inside home. Cute n cozy. We cooked each night had oven issue, door wouldn't stay closed but we managed n had an awesome weekend. Great location beach was 10 min walk away.

We were so excited to spend a couple of days at Dylan beach but we were very disappointed when we arrived to our home away from home. This place was pretty dumpy! Very dirty, terrible smell of mildew upon entry that stayed with us for the entire trip. Broken windows

Patricia We are replying to your evaluation based on our spoken conversation with you upon your arrival via email. Following our talk, I sent you an email confirming our verbal conservation. You made no complaint about the residence's cleanliness; in fact, you informed us that the house was "clean." Instead, you complained about a scent. We told you that our cleaning staff is continuing to clean in accordance with COVID requirements and sanitizing the home as they clean. If the odor disturbed you, we offered to have you vacate the home and refund your fees paid. You were adamant about not leaving the house. We disagree with your rating and felt compelled to comment, as this is most emphatically not what was said to us during our conversation. Linda Martin

Nice/Basic Beach House

Nice, simple, good value beach house. Short walk from the beach was really great. And being so close to the market/cafe was a plus. The downstairs was a bit chilly in January, but not too bad. The living room and kitchen are set up nice for cooking and enjoying the view.

Nice close getaway

This was was a nice last minute holiday for 2 nights. The location close to the market was very convenient. The rental was as expected. No real complaints. It for a little cold in the evening but space heaters were available and very helpful. this would not be an issue during summer months.
