This cottage is amazing! The pictures are very accurate, but they can't capture the warm, welcome feeling that you get when you walk in. The home is spotlessly clean, the living room and patio furniture is very comfortable and bed is excellent! Lynn and Jerry have thought everything a guest might need or want and it is provided!We loved the location of the home, at the edge of town close to all the attractions and activities of town, but with the total feel of being in the country. We loved sitting on the patios reading, listening to the birds and squirrels and watching the deer that came in morning and night. We even saw a fox the morning that we checked out. We will definitely be staying here again!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!The attention to guest’s comfort is above and beyond! Everything you could think about needing was there. I really felt like a valued guest! Host was responsive and gave much appreciated suggestions. Cleanliness was off the charts! Comfortable, clean, cozy!!

This is a little slice of heaven. It is furnished with everything that is in my home. Recliner chairs are inside and on the patio with a Weber grill. The coffee pot is Cuisinart programmable one with 3 kinds of coffee. There is a nice variety of snacks and juices. The large shower has a teakwood bench. We loved enjoying our coffee and cocktails on the patio while we watched the pampered deer. The hosts provided the corn to feed the deer. This is our second visit and we will return.

Where do we start, we booked this property in lieu of a pet friendly hotel as 99% of the time we travel with our 2 four-legged kids. It was our first experience with a VRBOhonestly as with some hotels the pictures exaggerate the actual experience, not in this case, what you see in the pictures provided online do not do this cottage justice everything you see and more from the moment we arrived we knew we were going to love our stay and at this point we had not even been inside, when we arrived our host Lynn was outside filling bird feeders and baths introduced herself and gave us a tour of the cottage (How absolutely wonderful) and then she was gone not to be seen again unless it was in passing. Everything that you could possibly have forgotten when packing for your trip was at your fingertips, from coffee filters to snacks and cold drinks even a selection of teas, short of having a chef onsite (LOL) one would have to feel as though they were home away from home in this adorable cottage. I (husband) am the picky one when it comes to our accommodations when we travel, I could not have found a thing to complain about if I had tried. when I say perfect it doesn't do this VRBO justice as this property is beyond perfect, and I have not yet expressed how peaceful and beautiful setting out on the back patio was from the wildlife to the cool breeze (and it was hot) it provided quite the comfortable time. I'm running out of characters but could go on and on about our stay 5 STARS

This cottage is out of the busyness of Fredericksburg very relaxing setting on the patio viewing 1500 acres of countryside. Owners were very pleasant. Plenty of room parking your car. Property was excellent clean organized so many amenities. I will definitely stay there again.

A wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion. The cottage was adorable and extremely comfortable. The hosts anticipated every need, were kind and responsive to all communications. My husband and I enjoyed watching the wildlife in the evenings.

We had a wonderful stay at this Fredericksburg property! The location was perfect, close to everything in town while still feeling peaceful and relaxing. One of our favorite parts was sitting on the back porch and watching the deer wander by just a few feet away. It made for a great Hill Country experience.The hosts were fantastic and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The home was comfortable, well-equipped, and made us feel right at home. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Fredericksburg!

The house was immaculate inside and out. All the rooms were clean and tidy. The snacks left by the host was a nice welcome gift. The place was central to all our activities and the added early morning and late evening visits by deer was an added bonus. We will definitely want to visit this house in the near future.

Our trip was great and so much fun! It began with checking into our Cottage and it certainly did not disappoint. Everything was just as it had been described and much much more! Lynn and Jerry have truly built a little piece of Heaven and made sure it was just like home. You really don't have to worry if you forgot to bring something with you because they have thought of almost everything!!! One of the highlights of our visit was watching and feeding the deer in the mornings and evenings! It was so peaceful and quiet sitting on the porch listening to the birds talk to each other and watching the hummingbirds 'jockey' for a place at the feeder. Our little rescue dog Sally enjoyed our walks and watching the squirrels in the trees as well as the deer of course.The little bit that we have shared is only the tip of the iceberg because there are so many special surprises at the Cottage. We would share more but they wouldn't be surprises would they?!!! Our thanks to Lynn and Jerry for a wonderful visit and we will certainly be returning!

Here’s a heartfelt review you could post:We absolutely loved our stay here! From the moment we arrived, it felt like the perfect getaway. The property was spotless, beautifully maintained, and had everything we needed to feel right at home.The views were incredible and easily one of our favorite parts of the trip. Every morning and evening we found ourselves just sitting outside, taking it all in. Seeing the deer come right up to the fence was such a peaceful and memorable experience—it really made the stay feel special and gave us a true Hill Country experience.The home was comfortable, well-equipped, and thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. It was clear the owners put a lot of care into making sure guests have a wonderful experience.If you’re looking for a relaxing place to unwind while still being close to everything Fredericksburg has to offer, this is it. The cottage was so clean with a farmhouse feel but with all the modern commodities. Very peaceful and relaxing. My husband and I will plan to revisit in the future. Lynn and Jerry were great people to arrange our stay.

Thank you for your review! We try to keep everything fully stocked and on hand for your visit. Glad you mentioned the "farmhouse" feel - this property was part of the Neffendorf farm of over 200 acres. The farm went all the way south down to Morse Street and east to Cross Mountain! Mr. Neffendorf and his family farmed it with oxen (less likely to be stolen by the Indians!).

We will always come back to the Cottage on Spoted Fawn in Fredericksburg. This home away from home was the best. We sat on the back patio and watched the beautiful deer, birds, hummers and enjoyed the awesome sunsets. We felt like we needed more than three nights. Next time. I can’t say enough about it. The BEST!

Butterflies, hummingbirds, and deer! OH MY!!This charming cottage was a great getaway destination for us (2 people & 1 dog). The owners clearly take pride in being good hosts not just by providing a clean and comfortable property to stay in, but also through the thoughtfulness in so many small details. The hosts were communicative before the stay (but not in a pushy or overbearing way) by providing recommendations on things to do/places to eat in the local area along with providing news about events happening around the area the specific dates we were there. Additionally, while the cottage is located near the hosts' house, they gave us our space during our stay. We did seem them and they offered a friendly wave, but there was no pressure or unannounced visits.The cottage itself was cozy. One bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen and a living room with all of your normal house amenities, but the space felt large, open and peaceful.All of the small things were there to enhance your stay; fireplace ready to be lit, snacks for us and for our dog, grill and citronella candles outside to enjoy the porch. Specifically, sitting outside in the morning and evenings was such a blessing since the property backs up to a ranch. The hosts setup a birdseed feeder, hummingbird nectar, and leave a bucket of corn to feed the neighboring deer. Throw a scoop out and you will quickly have numerous deer stop by for a meal (we saw 8 at one time). This is a quiet home ready to help you recharge.

We try hard to put ourselves in our "Guests shoes" and think of things that will ease & simplify their visit at the Cottage - such as the missing toothbrush & toothpaste, headache & allergy pills, a first aid kit & bandaids, etc. Could save a trip to into town at the end of a long day - time better spent sitting on the back porch watching a deer or a fox! We love staying here. Accommodations are always on point, squeaky clean, inside and out, seasonal decor everywhere, and the wildlife viewing is exceptional. Very close to dining and shopping but it doesn’t feel that way while you are there. A treasure for sure!!!
