We ate dinner at the Luna Trattoria next to the Sweetwater Inn. The meal and service were excellent. The bed was great. We also appreciated the free muffins left at our front door every morning.

The room was cosy and very tidy in the style of an English Bed and Breakfast. The Lady at the reception was very friendly and helpful. I am not sure, how to rate the Spa. The sauna and the bathing area were a bit rustic and old fashioned. On the other side, it fits to the hippie flair of Mendocino. All in all, I recomend the accommodation

Best Inn for a quiet getaway

The Inn was as cute and quaint as you can imagine. Perfect location across from the beach and close to hiking trails. Will definitely stay again and upgrade to one of the cottages in the back.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Sweetwater Inn. It's in an excellent Mendocino location and is quiet at night. The furnishings are mid century which was fun and fresh muffins were delivered each morning.

The sweet water tower was the best. Use of the public spa and redwood tubs during after hours was well worth having to go down a flight of stairs for the showered and bathroom

best little retreat

such a gem! we stayed 2 nights here to spend a day at orr hot springs (we had a dog, who we rover'ed). from check in to muffins in the morning, everything was so lovely! the spa in the back was amazing; call ahead if you want to book a massage. and definitely go to luna trattoria (through the garden gate) while you're there!

We have stayed here several times and will keep coming back! The staff is friendly and the units are adorable. Plus you get fresh baked muffins delivered daily. This time we stayed in the Sears tower, which is right next door to a phenomenal Italian restaurant-Luna. I’ve also stayed stage Redwood tower which is the best place to star and ocean gaze. Most units are pet friendly as well.

views from roof deck are wonderful. Muffins in morning were soo good! Everything was really clean. Landscaping is beautiful. Very quiet at night, so could sleep easily. No complaints at all.

Sweetwater Inn and Spa is a lovely, large, comfortable, cozy studio apartment. A full sofa neatly separates the bed/living area from the kitchen/dining area. The round dining table comfortably fits 3 people. The full kitchen is well supplied with pots, pans, etc. They deliver breakfast muffins every day. A gas fireplace cozily drives away the evening ocean chill. A large screen TV accesses lots of channels. The queen bed is comfortable. Good quality linens. We have free access to sauna and hot tub. All units beautifully set in lush gardens. And, the inn is walkable to restaurants, museums, hiking, the ocean, quiet beaches and a grocery store. This is a lovely, quiet retreat.
