We loved everything about our stay. The location is unbeatable, and the entire property is spotless. Our one-bedroom suite was huge, immaculate, and filled with natural light — plus it was incredibly quiet, which made it easy to relax. The bed was very comfortable, and we slept so well. Most importantly, the hotel staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful — they really went above and beyond to make our visit smooth and enjoyable. The breakfast buffet was another bonus. We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

We loved everything about the Property once we got there but getting there was a nightmare. The traffic was horrible, parking was far away from the hotel so we had to drag our bags to the hotel. It was not easy to locate. Once there is was beautiful!!! The views from the hotel restaurant are fabulous.

The hotel is so lovely! It’s tucked away in an ancient little alley just off of the river (a little hard to find with GPS; just ask). The room was spacious, well-appointed, and comfortable. There was even a gorgeous skylight directly above the bed! (Think sleeping in a lighthouse) with beautiful stone walls. It’s so convenient and I’d definitely stay again. Warning: however, there is no parking and the closest garage was a bit of a haul (~1-1.5km?) so, I just backpacked it instead of fighting with my luggage. It ended up costing >50€ for overnight-4pm.

喧噪もまた魅力的なホテルです、

キッチン付きリビングにベッドルーム×2,シャワールーム×2のリバービューの部屋でした。 リフォーム後日が経っていないのか、大変きれいでした。アイロン、アイロン台、食器、ポット、コーヒーメーカー、トースター、オーブン、レンジ、カトラリー、大きなレードル等揃っていますが、鍋、フライパン、まな板的な物、調味料は見当たりませんでした。聞けば貸して貰えたのかは不明です。 チェックアウト後預かってもらっていた荷物に土産物など詰め込む作業をレセプション階上のエリアでさせて貰えて助かりました。 スタッフの皆さんは、親切でフレンドリーです。テラスでの朝食も気分良くステキですが、カモメには注意が必要です。 また、朝食は8時〜でしたので、リバークルーズや各種ツアーに参加する場合には時間が合わないのかな？と思いました。 非常に賑やかなエリアですが、窓を閉めれば気になりませんし、夜も静かな朝も人々の様子を眺めて楽しい時間が過ごせました。 坂の下、川沿いにありますのでアクセスには注意が必要です。 カンパニャンバスターミナルからBolt利用でカイス・ダ・リベイラの入口まで行き、そこからキャスターバッグを転がして到着しました。(ホテル前まで入れないようでしたが、カード？をかざすと車止めが下がるシステムのようでしたので、ホテルの車だと近くまで行けるのかもしれません) ペスターナホテルとの間の坂道をキャスターを押して登っている人を見ましたが、大変そうでした。
大きな松の木が目印になりますが、残念なことに松枯れの様子だったので次行った時にあるのか…涙

A gem at the river. If your budget allows try to book a room with river view. Yes the zone before is busy until late in the night but windows cut most of the noise off and in summer you want to use the aircondition anyway. Amazing friendly staff treating us like family and friends.

From the moment we booked, the Porto River team was incredibly kind and attentive—offering transportation and assistance with our luggage, which is greatly appreciated given the hotel’s privileged (and somewhat hard-to-reach) location right on the Douro River. Check-in was quick and efficient, and the room… simply one of the best I’ve stayed in anywhere in the world. Overlooking the Douro, the space was impeccably maintained and beautifully modernized. It was spacious and well-designed, with a kitchenette, dining table, comfortable sofa, and four balconies offering breathtaking views. Despite being in a lively area, the reinforced windows kept most of the street noise out, allowing for restful nights. The staff also provided excellent restaurant recommendations, adding a thoughtful personal touch to our stay. I would return to Porto River Hotel without hesitation—highly recommended for anyone visiting Porto.

It was perfect as it always is - honestly the only downside was a guy called Carlos who works in the restaurant who made me put a tip and then when I gave him a decent tip he started negotiating for a higher tip - tipping is not standard in Portugal or anywhere in Europe and I even gave him a good review on another website after he begged me to. It was a shame then for him to insist I tipped him (fine) and then start bartering with me to give him a higher tip like I’m in a bazaar in Istanbul (not fine).
