"Driftwood Island Retreat" Spectacular View, Private Waterfront on James Point.

Located on the beautiful west side of Vashon Island, this is a unique, renovated waterfront home on a privately owned sandy beach with a permanent and attached floating dock. It has an expansive, spectacular 180-degree view of Puget Sound facing Gig Harbor to the south, the Kitsap Peninsula to the west and Mount Baker to the north. There is no other place on the island quite like it. Our 3-bedroom home is beautifully furnished to make you feel comfortable and at home. The refinished wooden walls give it a warm, rustic, retreat atmosphere. You can enjoy the view from the inside of the house or comfortably sit on the west and north facing wrap around deck. The beautiful westward water view is relaxing and breathtaking. You may experience colorful sunsets, glistening calm or whitecap and windy stormy waters. Every day is a unique experience, never the same. The property is accessible to smaller boats during the spring, summer and early fall using our floating dock.

The largest bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed, the middle guest room has a full-size double bed, and the smallest bedroom has a single twin bed. The house sleeps a maximum of 5 guests.

We have a flexible cancellation policy and are following all VRBO recommended cleaning and disinfecting protocols. It is our top priority for visitors to stay healthy and feel safe.

The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances including dishwasher and microwave oven as well as fresh coffee and tea. Towels, fresh bedding, shampoo and soaps are provided. The bathroom is a 3/4 bath with walk in shower. There is a full laundry area with washer and dryer for your convenience.

The living room is comfortably furnished and has a Smart TV with HDMI cable, DVD player and Echo Dot. Free Wi-Fi, Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney Plus are included.

The dining room seats 6. The kitchen is open to the dining area where there is extra counter seating.

Our sandy beach is home to a variety of sea life, mammals and birds. You will likely see eagles, blue heron, the occasional sea otter, seal or orca whale if you keep your eyes to the water. There is a large sand dollar bed and multiple shellfish along the beach. Sand toys available.

We are located about 5 minutes from the center of town for quick access to the local scene. Vashon Island is a small community, home to many artists, musicians, farmers, theatre, restaurants, coffee shops, shopping and much more. You may choose to attend Island events and visit landmarks and local businesses or decide to just experience a relaxing, quiet vacation on the beach.
