Mostly good….

We arrived at 1945, check in was advertised as 2000 close, no one around, knocked on a couple of doors and looked around then a guy appeared and said your key is in your room, as if we should know what he meant…we had no email so didn’t know our room number. Apart from that pretty good place, very close to everything in the centre, all clean and tidy if a little dated….

Queenstown is expensive, but the Lofts gave me (at half the price of a room in nearby hotel at the same) a large apartment with everything i needed.

A con.

Once we actually got the room we booked the stay was not too bad. They tried to fob us off with a lesser room and we had to be adamant that it was not what we had booked. We were told that we were 'lucky' that there had been a cancellation. In fact for the three days we were there the 'Vacancies' sign was displayed. Did not like the attitude of reception and I do not think the 'bedmaker' had ever made a bed in their lives.You could not open the tumble dryer door by more than six inches and the washing machine lid had to be propped open. Overall not a good experience.

One of our friend got serious sick & admitted in the hospital. We had to extend our stay in Queenstown 2 more nights in hope that our friend would get better and continue with our plan. it was Easter holiday and most of hotels were fully booked. We stayed one night at the Loft and moved to another hotel the next day. Overall, the room condition needs renovation, especially, the drainage system. The shower water leaks on the floor and flooding the floor even the next morning it's still there. But the location is great, facing to the lake and close to the city center.

The room was very spacious and clean with all cooking facilities and washer dryer too! Really enjoyed my stay as it is right in the centre of queenstown.

Pleasant hotel , staff pleasant and helpful, cleaning staff particularly nice. I had a room with settee and kitchen, spacious and clean. Decor tired, could do with a spruce up.

Although the hotel was good and in a good location to get out and about in Queenstown it had limited parking available. Also, any credit card payment incurred a 2.5% penalty so would advise anybody staying here to prepay the room. One of the few motels we stayed at in New Zealand that charged for Wifi access at $8/day. The Wifi access also had a download limit so could be less than a day's access. Both these would not encourage me to return to this motel. There were much better locations with good views and better overall facilites.

Centre location but room was not clean.

Light bulbs out, water dripping from a light fitting on balcony, lots of complaints from other customers whilst we were there. Receptionist tried to be helpful.

Great central location.

We spent one night in this hotel before moving on to another hotel in Queenstown. It has a great central location and our apartment was spacious, but the furniture was very old and tired and the room didn't feel very secure- it could have also done with a more extensive clean. Be careful who you book with as there are the hotel apartments and also the timeshare apartments. I double checked that we had a hotel apartment and was assured by management, as it seems that any of the rooms with poor reviews on TripAdvisor are timeshare ones....

Basic, noisy, uncomfortable, but cheap and central

paid £50 a night for a studio apartment. Stayed in room 101 for 2 weeks. The room was very very basic and really really dated. The shower was like something you had at a campsite. It has a 2 ring gas hob, microwave, kettle and toaster. And full kitchen equipment which is good if you are going to sell cater. It's probably the noisiest room I have ever been in. Cars and busses going past sound like your sat directly on the street and in a night time you can hear people's conversations fully as they walk past! We complained about the noisy room and the owner just shrugged it off and laughed as if to say well yeah corse it is!! The bed and sofa was so uncomfortable. We asked the owner to ask next door to keep it down once. He told them off then came straight to us and told us that if it carried on we had to tell him about the noise and he would call the police!!!!! Not a good thing to do when the lads saw and heard him coming to our apartment!! Then knew it was us!!!! Felt very very awkward !!On our 3rd last night he offered us a room change because of the noise...... But we had to pay for it!! We felt he was extremely unhelpful with the noise issue. Highlight is that the hotel is on shot over street which is as centre as centre can be!! No need for busses or taxis and the big supermarket is only a 10 minute walk away. The studio rooms need a massive refurbishment and new windows and this hotel Would be worth the money!

likely wouldn't choose again

The property is conveniently located for walking around the center of town but felt rather run down. We had plenty of space in the unit we had for the 3 of us (no shortage of beds), but I was concerned that there might be mold in the carpets. I'm glad our stay was limited to a single night.

Perfect for location if wining and dining your way around town. Everything is within a very short walk. Love the big balcony with a view. Stayed in Room 302 - 2 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms. Rooms definitely outdated and cleaning and hygiene was an issue. There were used women’s sanitary items left in the bathroom bin, the microwave didn’t have a working turn table, there was broken glassware in the kitchen cupboard, there was 7 used and very old and dirty scouring sponges under the sink, no laundry powder (but then was provided when asked), washer/dryer tricky to operate and was in the main bathroom so awkward to access for rest of people staying in the apartment, no air conditioning in the bedrooms. As there are no fly screens, unable to open any doors or windows as the place quickly filled up with flies. NZ definitely needs fly screens! Overall the place is perfect for location if you don’t mind the place being outdated and not clean/functional/cool in summer.
