THE APARTMENT

Here’s a luxurious 1 bed apartment in west London that caters for contemporary tastes. The property certainly has stand-out on the street, thanks to its distinctive turquoise façade. Take a few steps up from street level into the house, and a couple of flights of stairs inside and you’ll be in your new home which is up on 2nd floor.



OPEN PLAN LIVING / DINING / KITCHEN AREA

This will soon become the hub of the apartment, thanks to the presence of a sofa, armchair, wall-mounted television, dining table and kitchen. Even making the tea and toast in the morning can be a social event in here! You walk straight in here through the front door of this 2nd floor apartment, and you’re sure to nod in appreciation at the high standard of presentation in the room. Relaxing on the comfortable seating, working or eating at the dining table and preparing snacks and meals can all happen in this one, attractive space.

Quality towels and toiletries will be provided by the A Place Like Home team, so there’s no need to bring those.





THE LOCAL AREA

The apartment is perfectly situated to help you discover the capital, being a very short walk from Ladbroke Grove tube station. You’ll surely want to take a trip to the world-famous market on Portobello Road during your stay. It features an eclectic mix of antique, food and clothing stalls and shops.



Being located in Notting Hill, the apartment makes for an ideal base from which to enjoy the Notting Hill Carnival which takes place every August, though early booking is advised.



To the south you’ll find the cool bars and restaurants of Notting Hill and Notting Hill Gate. Fans of the 1999 Hugh Grant movie ‘Notting Hill’ will no doubt recognise many locations from the film in the area, not least that famous blue door, located on Westbourne Park Road.



Head further east and you’ll arrive at the boutiques of Westbourne Grove and Bayswater. To the south of the apartment you’ll find Holland Park and the popular exhibition and performance venue at Kensington Olympia. So if you have tickets for an event here, you won’t have far to go.





GETTING AROUND

While there’s plenty to keep you entertained, fed and watered within walking distance of the apartment, those who want to spread their wings and see more of the capital will find Ladbroke Grove tube station a very short walk from the apartment. Trains from here will connect you to Hammersmith, Shepherd’s Bush and various destinations in central London and the City beyond. It makes this an apartment that’s ideal if you’re planning to work in London or explore its many attractions.



Holland Park Underground Station is a longer walk south of the apartment. The station’s on the Central Line, so it’ll take you straight to Oxford Circus, London’s premier shopping strip if you head east, or to the vast Westfield Shopping Centre in White City in the opposite direction.



Want to stay above ground? No problem. The area is well served by buses that’ll take you all over the capital, as well as black cabs which regularly ply their trade in the area.



Paddington Station is a short drive away, from where the Heathrow Express will get you to (and from) the airport. Other train services from Paddington will take you further west to locations in Devon, Cornwall and South Wales, handy if that’s where your UK adventures are taking you next…

The stores we use are usually no longer than a 5-10 minute walk and we always try to make it as convenient as possible!
