Gulf Shores

The location of Seawind was great! We were right on the beach with an awesome balcony view. Plenty of family fun activities close by!

Good. Pool and hot tub area small for the complex.

Good room. Ample sleeping space. The room with the bunk beds did have a bad odor. The balcony was great. Pool and hot tub area was small for the size of the condo complex. I would stay here again.

Great condo, bad elevators

We enjoyed our stay! The condo was clean upon arrival, however we did find lots of mold in the cabinets above the stove. The kitchen supplies were adequate. Beds are comfortable. Elevators are slow and have lots of mechanical problems. Pool is very small. Overall it was a great time, the view alone is worth every penny!

Enjoyable

Bedrooms were small. The room was dated and needs upgrades. The smallest tv you can buy were in the rooms and Dish television was going out while trying to watch the televisions. The elevators are the worst. Two elevators for the 20 story building is not enough to accommodate the guest sufficiently.

Summer get away

Everthing went great until we got in, The place is very nice but carpet is nasty. We could not go with out shoes. We were locked out of the until as our code did not work but they got on it right away and we were able to get back in with in the next 10 or 15 mins. The microwave went out and smelled like it was burning and it took about 30 mins for someone to come check it out, replace with a temp one. Not enough chairs on the deck only 3 for 8 people. Other then that we had a great stay. Would stay again if those items were addressed.

A Few Issues

Overall the property was ok but won’t return to this unit nor go through this company that manages the unit. Cons: The biggest issue was the check in. The code that was provided didn’t work. After getting to the location at 6:15 and realizing the code didn’t work, I called the phone number to the property management company. It took until about 7:30 to finally get into the door. Talked to several people through the company including the first couple people that seemed like it went to an overseas call center. A couple of the cases on the extra pillows in the master closets had stains on them as well as the curtains. Master bedroom fan was very loud so didn’t want to run it. Washer and dryer worked great the first couple days but last full day we were there, the dryer wouldn’t work. Pros: the 2 Ladies running the elevators were very friendly. The elevators were also extremely fast…didn’t have to wait long for one. Beautiful view from the balcony. Close to all the touristy spots so you have the ability to walk around straight from the condo. Kids splash pad was cool as well.

Would Not Recommend

The small details inside the unit make a huge difference. This rental was spacious, the bathrooms were good size, however, there were no hooks to hang your bath towels or hand towels. The shower curtain was dirty/stained and when I went to hang my towel over the curtain rod as there was no place to hang them, it was rusted and dirty. The shower heads were moldy and had black buildup. There were 4 adults sharing this bathroom so storage and hanging space would be appreciated. 2 of the 4 lightbulbs were blown out. We had half a toilet paper roll. It did not appear that this unit was cleaned as thoroughly as one would expect. Storage/hanging space was lacking in the en-suite bathroom as well. Same issue with the shower head. The fan in the living room is on its last leg, makes noise and has one speed only. There was a table and 3 chairs on the patio. This unit sleeps 6, one would expect more than 3 chairs on the patio. We waited with everyone else in the complex for one elevator every-time we needed to go to our room. One of the two elevators were broken the entire time we were there. I paid a large amount of money for this vacation and feel completely ripped off for the price we paid compared to the accommodations we received.

First time to Gulf Shores

This was my first trip to Alabama. I wanted a place large enough for my family of 6 and this place fit us comfortably. I had some issues checking in to the condo as the provided door code didn't work, but the property representative was very helpful in troubleshooting the problem. Overall I was very happy staying at this property.

Nice place to stay

Overall, very nice. If you have a compact/small vehicle/motorcycle/scooter/Play School kiddie car, or bicycle parking may not be an issue. We have a full size truck and it was a challenge. There are two elevators that are beside each other. One was broken the day after our stay through the following week. Needless to say, it made for some very long wait times to the 18th floor in which I elected to climb a couple times.

Very responsive management

We loved our stay. We had a couple of “issues@ at the start but these were VERY promptly and successfully corrected. Loved the master suite. Please note: you need to bring EVERYTHING- salt, pepper, paper towel etc. That is outlined on the listing but I wanted to emphasize. The location was SUPERB! You will love it!

Location great, needs updates

The location is great. You can walk to a lot of places, like The Hangout. The building is older and the elevators aren’t always working at the same time. Got better as the week went on. The condo is very outdated and needs some major upgrades, couch and carpet are really bad. But if the weather is good, you aren’t in it that much. Make sure and bring slippers or plan to wear shoes the whole time- carpet is awful. The rental company who manages it is great though. Owners just need to upgrade a few things to make it comparable with everything else out there.

It is such a great place but the parking and the elevator situation is terrible!

We spent half of our vacation waiting on elevators or walking 18 flights of stairs! They only have one working and it is too congested. The parking is not good either. We had to park on a curb one night after waiting and looking for security for over an hour.

Anniversary Destination

The location to the beach and all Gulf Shores restaurants and shopping was perfect. We had our son, daughter in law and two grand kids (4 and 6) stay with us. Plenty of room in the unit and the only tool missing was a pizza cutter. The property did have the pools shown on the photos, but are much smaller than the photos would suggest. The pools are also in a neighboring building, except for the kids pool shown. We enjoyed the unit and will stay there again in the future.

Elevators

There were 2 elevators for 20 floors of condos on the first day and then after that they were working on one the rest of our stay. I would think that would be a huge safety hazard. One of the people that work there said it had been like that off and on all summer long... The couches seemed dirty. Other than those 2 things we had a blast!

Great location

Nice condo right on the beach. The unit and building needs a few updates. This unit had a broken closet door, the handle fell off the balcony door, and carpet in the bedrooms definitely needs to be replaced. The pool is rather small and there's only one set of elevators. Plenty of room for 6 people. A great value right in the middle of Gulf Shores.

Another great trip to Gulf Shores

The condo was very nice, very close to several attractions and right on the beach. The indoor pool was nice when the grandchildren had enough of the beach.

Great view!

We had a great time. The view of the ocean is amazing! The only thing I needed that wasn't there was a dish cloth for wiping down the kitchen. I bought one at the Dollar Store, so no real issues. There were enough bath towels for all of us, and that was greatly appreciated. We would definitely stay here again!

View great, beds comfy

Furniture old & uncomfortable. Kitchen poorly stocked, no serving bowls, poor knives, fry pans just plain nasty and stove vent filthy, smoke alarms dirty, curtains torn and stained..will not stay here again unless really updated

Thank you for this review Margo. We do appreciate you bringing these items to our attention and we would have loved the opportunity to address them while you were in town. This property was updated just last year and there are plans for additional updates in the future. We apologize that you found some of the furniture to be uncomfortable. Our properties are furnished to the individual owner's preferences and comfort level. We have inspected the kitchen and found it to be stocked properly.
