Beautiful Home for the Perfect Vacation

The home was even better than advertised – pictures just can’t do it justice. Everything we needed was there and the host was wonderful to communicate with. This was our second time in Los Barriles and this property will be our preferred place to stay from now on.

Lovely home on the Sea if Cortez

We absolutely loved our stay! The house was equipped with everything you could possibly need. Beautifully decorated with a beachie vibe. Lots of areas to gather and talk. We saw whales and dolphins in the morning and amazing stars at night.

Fantastic property

We had a wonderful week at Janie and Mike’s beautiful beach-front home in Los Barriles. The home had everything one could want, including awesome views of the Sea of Cortez, migrating whales and leaping Mobula rays. If you want a quiet peaceful get-away, this is the perfect place! Many thanks to Janie and Mike for making their home available to us!

A slice of heaven

We all had a wonderful time. This property is everything it appears to be and more. We actually got to meet the owners upon our arrival which was nice to put a face on the property. Janie and Mike were really nice people and very attentive to our needs. I recommend this property with the highest rating I could give. The town of Los Barriles is very laidback and there’s no shortage of wonderful places to dine.

Heaven on the Sea of Cortez

Beautiful location. Perfect view of paradise. Right on the ocean. Amazing sunrise. It just doesn't get any prettier. Just outside of town about 8 minutes. Groceries close by. Fabulous restaurants within minutes. Janie was very responsive to all our needs. Wonderful host! There are 3 bedrooms - 2 with ocean view. All beds are queen size so if you are, like my hubby & I - over 6 feet - queen beds are a little small to share ;-/ Beds & pillows were pretty comfortable. Two full bathrooms are wonderfully styled in Mexican decor. Kitchen is great. Well stocked, but if you plan to do alot of cooking know that the oven & microwave are placed very low on the floor so you need to do alot of bending down to use. Also, only the bedrooms have AC. The living area does have two fans but they are light on air flow. We opened up the front & back slider doors so there was usually a nice breeze. It was great to have use of the kayaks and snorkeling gear. The beach here is not sandy - very rocky so remember to bring your water shoes to get into the ocean for a swim. We will definitely rebook!

Beautiful House on the Beach

This place is lovely and comes with all the creature comforts you could ask for in a vacation beach house. We've been to Los Barriles many times and this home is one of the best we've found. Jackie, our host, met us at check-in and answered the few questions we had. She has put together a binder full of great info about the town, restaurants and activities. She was quick to respond when we made the reservation and her communications were timely and very helpful. The beds were fantastic--a real selling point for all four of us! The beach side of the property is beautiful and the road side is gorgeously planted and maintained. We'd love to book this perfect property again next year!

Amazing Accommodations for a Family Vacation

Janie and Mike are wonderful hosts to interact with regarding their beautiful property. They were extremely responsive with any questions or concerns we had with are trip and checked in on us to make sure that we were settled in and if there was anything we needed. The house and property allows you to enjoy a beautiful and relaxing vacation directly on the Sea of Cortez. My husband and I stayed in the master bedroom with a private bathroom and listened to the wonderful sounds of the sea every night through the screen door. We traveled with our two adult children, their spouses and our 2 grandchildren and the house was perfect for all of us. Sitting out on the back of the house overlooking the sea was magnificent and the meticulous landscaping allowed our grandsons to explore in the own natural sandbox. The front yard space and gardening is equally beautiful. The property is very private in a quiet and safe neighborhood, just a few miles out to the lovely town of Los Barriles. I highly recommend this property for your stay in this wonderful area of Mexico!

Better than home!

Love this house! Wonderful rental with every amenity you could ask for. Owners quickly responded to our questions and even left us a lovely welcome note & gift. The view cannot be beat with the sounds of the surf from the entire property. The back patio was the perfect respite on those days when the wind was too much. We enjoyed dinner and afternoons on both patios. Kayaks available for use right on the beach. views of the sunrise and splashing marine life where we were hypnotized daily. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of bath & beach towels available. I cannot say enough about this property and these owners....almost hate sharing!!

Beautiful home right on the water

This home is in a great location, right on the water. The home is really beautiful with great outdoor areas both on the water and in front with gorgeous landscaping. The home was well stocked and beds were comfortable. Janie and Mike responded quickly if we had questions. We hope to come back again!

Could not have asked for a better Christmas getaway

The house and garden are really lovely -- I didn't think we would use the chaise lounges in the front courtyard as much as we did, but they were perfect for the late afternoon. We enjoyed breakfast on the rear porch overlooking the ocean and at the table in the front courtyard. The beds are firm and very comfortable and there's very little night time noise and almost no ambient light (excellent sleeping). The internet worked well, as did our AT&T cell service. Janie and Mike were great hosts; the restaurant recommendations were very helpful -- we ate three dinners at La Casita and breakfast and three lunches at El Viejo (terrific fried clam tacos). Easy day trips to El Triunfo and to Rancho Ecologico Sol De Mayo. We rented a VW Jetta from Hertz at the airport (we actually reserved a Jeep or similar which Hertz did not give us, once they learned there were only two of us, each with one bag). While the Jetta was fine, it would have been nice to have had a four wheel drive. An easy drive from SJD to the house as long as it is light out. Watch out for the cows and goats.

Wonderful vacation home.

This house was very comfortable and well equipped like we were in our own home. Mornings watching the sunrise from the porch were spectacular. The owners were helpful and answered all our question quickly.

Unbelievable!!

We loved this place! It was perfect for our family. We got to see the sunrise every morning from our bed. It was very close to the new pickleball complex that also has great food and happy hours! It's the perfect floor plan to host a group and yet give everyone privacy. We loved taking the kayaks up and down the coast on early mornings. The owners were super helpful. We plan to come back often.

We really enjoyed our experience here!

It's a beautiful home with plenty of space to appreciate. A couple of the rooms get a perfect view of the sun rising up out of the Sea of Cortez every morning and the quiet beachfront is only a few stair-steps away. As far as we experienced, everything worked properly (although we didn’t give the A/C much of a go since the weather during our stay was milder than expected). Janie and Mike were great hosts and were available locally should we have needed anything; we definitely recommend this home and look forward to returning!
