Beautiful palapa roofed beachfront home located one-mile from the charming town of Los Barriles. This unique two bedroom and 1-1/2 bath property sits on 2.5 acres garden of lush palm trees and desert flowers. The large living room and two bedrooms have open views of the Sea of Cortez. The living space extends to outdoors where the palapa roof creates an expansive shaded out door area also facing the sea. Tables and chairs provide a wonderful environment to dine al fresco while a large built in banquette with comfortable cushions create a space for quiet afternoon reading or perhaps a nap. The terrace is also perfect for sleeping on a warm summerā€™s night. The house is equipped with a full kitchen, an outdoor mesquite bbq and wood burning pizza oven. Rental fee includes light daily housekeeping. For the more adventurous, two kayaks are available for exciting ocean excursions.

Truly an oasis

Near everything but so private. The grounds are like being in a botanical garden. A rustic Old Mexico decor. Very clean. Incredible unobstructed beach view and access. Ocean just a step away.

Great house, Amazing Gardens, Beautiful View

The house and property were amazing. There were no cleaning supplies on site and no cleaning was performed while we were there other than what we did ourselves with store-bought supplies.

It's OK

The house is nice the location is good. They had a Easter celebration on the beach over the weekend the music and 4-wheelers were loud late into the night. We didn't have hot water 2 nights and lost power 2 times all day and night

Peaceful perfection

This home was all that we had hoped for and more: Walking through the gate and up the driveway, through the amazing landscaped garden full of beautifully tended palm trees, exotic cacti, bamboo and flowering plants, we were immediately captivated by this property. The house looks out over the Sea of Cortez and the beach is your front yard. Fabulous for a morning walk before breakfast on the extensive outdoor patio The living area is very open and inviting with high ceilings and lots of seating areas. The kitchen is amazingly well stocked with everything you could possibly need. The housekeeper and her husband, who caretake the property, were very friendly and welcoming We had an ATV and the town was easily accessible by a fun drive along the beach. We plan to return next year and stay longer

Location and...

Overall the place is clean and spacious with wonderful beachfront views. We had some issues though: no hot water for 3 days, until fixed by maintenance man, gas for cooking ran out first morning and took some time to fix, cleaning and gardening people were at property about every other day including Thanksgiving which impacted privacy, location is such that ATVs are constantly riding up and down the beach in front and down the access road which borders the property, ATVs and cars use the beach right in front of the rental as a parking lot, exhaust from ATVs blows up onto the deck. We used the outside pizza oven on T-day since there is no oven and at least a microwave would have been nice. Large viewing windows in living room and bedrooms and bathroom but no curtains to outside for privacy. The property is huge though and like a botanic garden of native cacti. My friends review is as follows: This house is in the best location in all of Los Barriles. Just a few feet away from the popular turtle hatchery and the daily release of hatchlings, this house is ringside to many beach activities. You are right where sport fishing boats are launched in the morning and where ATV riding anglers try their luck in the surf at sunrise. The dog friendly beach in front of the house is popular with families and their young children as well couples who come here to enjoy the long lazy afternoons. There is great beach access next to the house for when you want to explore the sand in your ATV or take the whole gang out in your SUV. Afternoons are great for kiteboarding if you dare, and you will never be bored by the spectacle of dozens of enthusiasts zipping along in front of you. The house is open and airy surrounded by large uncovered windows and a magnificent palapa roof that makes it feel like you are right outside. The house is meticulously maintained by a house keeper that is ever present and thorough. The beautiful grounds are unique and spacious. Credit the many gardeners who work hard to keep this gem spotless.

Donā€™t want to say too many good things about this rental because I want to keep it a secret! The caretakers are so nice. They maintain the property and itā€™s beautiful garden with so much care! The pictures definitely donā€™t do this listing justice! Amazing trip and we will definitely be back!

Wonderful spot right on the beach. Beautiful home and well maintained grounds.

Donatella was very responsive and helpful in finding us a fishing guide. The kitchen was well stocked making it easy to stay home and cook all week. The only issue was that we lost power on the last day, which meant no water either. Would have been nice to have a generator. We couldnā€™t tidy up the kitchen like weā€™d hoped, again with no water. Hildalisa seemed very understanding though.

Have been doing vrbo for a while and have to say this home is special. May not have all the updates or bells and whistles, but what it does have is old Mexican palapas magic and 2.5 freakin acres of beach front awesomeness. Im with other reviewer who was torn on writing review for fear of word getting out on this. In my mind a rare treasure that we will be returning to.

Perfect House in Buenos Aires

We really enjoyed our stay in this beachfront home in Los Barrrilles. It's located just north of the town in an area called Buenos Aires and that means that it's out of the hustle and bustle of the main tourist area, but still close enough (5 minute drive) to shops and restaurants. You really couldn't find a better location. The setting is spectacular and particularly so, the outside veranda. We spent hours dozing in the deck chairs watching whales spout, manta rays jump and the kite surfers zipping around. Lying in bed and watching the sunrise is sublime. A short walk down the beach for a swim is how we started most days. The house is clean, well stocked with everything you might need, whether you're staying in or going into town for meals. Hildalisa will come to the house and clean for you during your stay, but we opted to have her come just one day and she was pleasant and friendly. Donatella, the owner responded quickly when booking and when I had a question about whether the water out of the tap is safe (yes, but tastes bad. Get bottled). I've stayed in many places in Mexico and particularly in Baja and this was my favorite place by far. It's a wonderful property and highly recommended.

Great property

Beautiful home with fantastic beach front view. We enjoyed snorkeling and swimming just steps away. Saw a turtle laying eggs as well as hatchlings being released. The caretakers and property owner were very responsive. The beach was busier than we expected with ATVā€™s.

Great location in a classic setting

The property is awesome with a garden oasis right on the water. Well stocked for kitchen supplies with a stove and toaster oven. No tv but you can stream through the internet, we would use for work. Loved the all the art work, open air windows, the books were amazing. The house keepers were wonderful. Thank you hope to be back again!

Excellent location, comfortable stay

This is a great property with beautiful garden grounds, not to mention an amazing view. There are not a lot of extras at this house - it's basically all about the outdoor spaces. Heads up - there is no oven in the kitchen, but we knew this and made plans to use the wood-fired oven which was amazing. Beach access, kayaks, and the turtle release every morning was so great.

Beach Front Paradise

This property exceeded our expectations. The landscaping is incredible! As you enter the property and the house emerges, it is stunning. As you walk up to the front entrance, you can see through the house to the sea. Wow!! The patio is huge, which is where we spent most of our time while at the house. The furniture in the house and bedrooms was great. The AC kept the bedrooms nice and cool even in the summer. Windows throughout the house and ceiling fans in the main house create a nice breeze. The kitchen was well appointed and we even used the grill. I wanted to try the pizza oven, maybe next time. We used the kayaks everyday and experienced the jumping manta rays up close as the sun rose - this part of the trip was surreal. We rented snorkel gear from CanDoo right up the road. Each day we snorkeled - walking down the beach in front of the house. We saw eel, tons of fish, sting ray and even an octopus! The water was crystal clear! It was like swimming in an aquarium - no tour guide needed. The turtle estuary was awesome too. Omar was burying turtles in a protected area right near the property (you can watch from the patio). My only disappointment was that I didnā€™t get to see any hatch then assist them to the sea. Finally, Hildalisa snd Renee, the caretakers were so kind and helpful. The owner was also very responsive with any questions we had. I was reluctant to write honestly about this property because weā€™d like to keep it to ourselves and those who have discovered it thus far. We will definitely be back again to make more memories at this incredible beachfront property.

amazing location!

the home lives large due to the spacious outdoor areas and the location is amazing. Literally right on the water and less than 50 yards from the turtle nursery!! we rented a UTV for our stay so getting into town was very quick and easy but the location is also close enough to town to walk to most of what you'd need or want to see. the homeowner was very responsive to all of our questions and having the house keeper come in periodically was an extra perk!

Perfect location to relax

Beautiful beachfront property. The space is magical. The front of the property is a well maintained garden protected from the wind. Every window offers panoramic views of the Sea of Cortez. I am not usually a morning person but looked forward to waking up to the sunrise each morning. Enjoyed the calm waters in the morning for kayaking, snorkeling and fishing. Great kiteboarding right out front of the property on windy afternoons. We enjoyed our stay.

Excellente!

This was our second year at this property and just love it. The sunrises are spectacular and you can't help but just relax. The house is very well appointed with everything you need to cook gourmet meals, including a charcoal bbq and oven. We hope to back again next year!
