Steps away from beach and park, popular fishing dock and kayak launch area. 1 mile to train station, 1.5 hours to NYC, 2 hours to Boston and 15 min to New Haven. Short drive to Thimble Island Cruise in Stony Creek.

This is a phenomenal location and property. The views are incredible. This cottage is impeccably decorated and immaculately maintained. It's such a unique experience. The way this is built into the rock is stunningly beautiful and aso keeps a consistent temperature in the house. I also loved the hanging clothes rack because it keeps clothes fresh. This is a true hidden gem. The park adjacent to the house is beautiful. We had the beach to ourselves on several days. One of the best VRBO experiences yet!

Beware: No air-conditioning or de-humidifier

My husband and I are active renters, all over the world. Typically, our stays are typically for four or more weeks. In sum, the house itself is a #1; the location is a #5. On the plus side, the location, town center and beach/park within a tiny walk are wonderful. Sitting in the rental's adirondack chairs reading a book while looking out on the sound was sublime. We'd certainly come back to Branford, but find a better house. So what's not right about the house? First, there is not one closet to hang clothes. The owner set up a rack (not shown on pictures). Because of the house's steamy poor ventilation during our July/August stay, we had to rewash all clothes when we got home. The drawers barely open on the very warped dressers, so our suitcases were used to store clothing. One wall (not pictured) in the first floor bathroom is built into a rock, so the room "sweats" so frequent mopping is required. A few nights we had to sleep elsewhere because we couldn't take the excessive heat. The house would benefit from editing down the furniture and tchotchkes for space considerations, granted some may like the charm of it. The pictures do imply a larger living space. This could be a wonderful spot in the Spring and Fall for short term rentals. As said, the town is special and has more restaurants to offer than say nearby Clinton. New Haven is close, the train system can get you to NYC without much of a hassle. For the daily rate, this house should be more.

Effortless, Coastal Charm!

My wife and I stayed for more than two weeks in this beautifully decorated, charming, well-situated cottage, located right on the Branford harbor inside Parker Memorial Park on the Connecticut coast. The property has a lovely multi-level outdoor space that leads directly down to the harbor. The cottage is completely charming and beautifully decorated with a designer's touch that's unpretentious but feels more like a European cottage on the French or Italian coast than central Connecticut. The upstairs bedroom suite has a comfortable bed, dual ceiling fans, and a lovely balcony with rocking chairs and a telescope to view the beautiful coastal harbor. There is a small twin bed available in an adjacent room that we did not use but would pefect for a child. Rob, the owner, was very helpful in recommending local restaurants and other places to visit. He was very responsive to questions and always checks in prior to coming out to maintain the property. There's a lovely little beach right in the park which is an easy 5-minute walk. The hosts provide beach chairs and towels. We were also treated to an amazing town fireworks display on one of the weekends during our stay. We can't recommend this place more highly and would love to return anytime.

Wonderful location

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Rob was a fantastic host and readily available to answer questions or assist in any way. The location is quiet and peaceful with stunning views from both the second floor porch and the terraced patio. The house is clean, well appointed and super charming. The beach is a short walk and just beyond the beach is some great fishing from Branford Point.

Gorgeous, Idyllic, Heavenly

What a slice of heaven! It was very special to spend a week at Rob + Robin's place, right on the water. Fish jumped, ospreys flew above...it was just so peaceful. The beds are comfy, and the house has everything you need - we cooked all our meals and had every utensil at our fingertips. The house is beautifully appointed with so many carefully chosen, artistic details. The little beach is a 2-minute walk away. Rob is lovely and was kind enough to meet us at the house and show us around - and he was available and responsive regarding our questions. We just adored our time at the cottage and hope to return!

Great Shoreline Cottage

Italy in Connecticut

This little cottage is a gem. Build among rocks and boulders reminds me of Italy’s Almafi coast. Rob and Robin, the owners, have done a great job maintaining the property. The interior flows beautifully and everything is very clean and comfortable. The kitchen has everything you would need. And the view, even from your bed, are spectacular. We will be back.

A gem

This is a beautiful property , like sitting on the Mediterranean coast! The owners have decorated and appointed the house with such detail. They are extremely nice, helpful and responsive. The beach is a 2 minute walk , quiet and very clean. The only slight glitch is there is not much privacy as the neighbors are quite close, but also very pleasant and not intrusive. The location is great as it’s close to town , restaurants and a large plaza with super market, etc. We definitely recommend Rob and Robins “Cottage “

Beautiful slice of the sea

I stayed nearly a month at this beautiful, well built cottage with multiple spaces for enjoying the peaceful and expansive water view, boats, sunrise, and sunsets, or entertaining. It sits in the park near the beach. The owners are very helpful, resourceful, and responsive- even though there’s nothing that is needed. I loved my personal retreat time here and will be back 💖

Amazing stay!!

We absolutely loved staying at Robin and Rob's house. The pictures do not do it justice - it is like staying on the Italian coastline (but here in CT). It is totally relaxing and absolutely stunning. Robin and Rob were such a pleasure to deal with - they were super attentive to everything we needed. We are excited to come back soon!!!!
