Beautiful Chez Lussaud

We really enjoyed our stay in this gorgeous gite. Meg and Mark have done a fantastic job and put a lot of work into making the whole place beautiful. They are also lovely people, nothing was too much trouble for them. We arrived on Sunday with no food and no shops open, Meg sorted us the ingredients for spaghetti bolognaise. Thank you both for making our stay so perfect

An escape to the country

Like so many people, whenever I’m lucky enough to stay in a really outstanding property, a little bit of me is always reluctant to leave a glowing review as I might never be able to book it again! Chez Lussaud is exactly that type of property. When I booked, I was expecting somewhere comfortable and attractive where we could just escape and unwind for a week. What I hadn’t expected was just how much care and thought Meg and Mark have put into Chez Lussaud. It’s immaculate, in every sense, and completely deserving of its claim to be a luxury gite. Outside, the beautifully kept grounds provide plenty of spots to sit and read, paint, play boules or badminton, swim, or just relax and drink in the views. In the evening, the hot tub offers the ultimate in relaxation, just gazing up at the stars. Inside, the house is gorgeous. The high quality furnishings are what gives the house it’s luxury factor and the beds are to die for. They’re unbelievably comfortable, guaranteed to give even the worst of sleepers a good night’s sleep (and I speak as one of those sleepers ...). While we didn’t venture too far afield on this holiday, during previous visits to the region we’ve enjoyed trips to Angouleme, the distilleries of Cognac, and, a little further afield, Bordeaux and the seaside towns of Arcachon and Pyla sur Mer, home to Europe’s largest sand dune. The review wouldn’t be complete though without saying a huge thank-you to Meg and Mark. They were the perfect hosts in what has undoubtedly been a challenging year. Nothing was too much trouble. We really enjoyed Mark’s brief history tour of the house! We’d certainly love to come back another year, if it’s not booked out!

Manifique - Amazing

What an amazing holiday! Full calm and peace on site and lots to do in the area. The lodge is just beautiful from the interior and exterior where you immediately feel at home. Top cleanliness, super comfortable and well equipped. There is lots of space on the terrace surrounded by a terrific garden. The garden and terrace are directed towards a majestic tree line and you are 100% on your own with private access to the pool. All of that is topped by a hot bath tub on the terrace for your special night watching the stars. Meg and Mark do their utmost to make the guests feel at home. The area offers lots to do for family, couple or more the sporty type. Thanks again for the great holiday. TN Un grand merci à Meg et Mark, chez qui nous avons passé un magnifique séjour avec nos 2 enfants de 10 et 8 ans. Nous étions dans le gite - le four à pain - un gite très confortable, aménagé avec beaucoup de gout, très propre et avec une vraie literie de qualité. Tout ça au milieu d´une nature magnifique. Un vrai bonheur! La propriété est très grande et très bien entretenue, nous avions même toute une partie du jardin rien que pour nous. En plus de la piscine nous avons beaucoup apprécié le jaccuzi sur la terrasse. Quant aux propriétaires, ils sont au top! Très gentils, très à l´écoute de nos besoins. Nous nous sommes sentis comme à la maison grâce à eux! Leurs deux chiens adorables ont fait le bonheur de nos enfants. Merci encore pour ces 2 semaines dont nous garderons un excellent souvenir! CN.

Beautiful place - faultless

We stayed at Chez Lussaud in January whilst out in France wedding planning. It surpassed all expectations from the wonderful welcome from Meg and Mark, to the beautiful accommodation and idyllic environment. A welcome hamper awaits on arrival with the log burner on and an apartment that is just stunning. The area is beautiful with typical French villages located nearby and sweeping countryside. They are fantastic hosts and go above and beyond for their guests. I have to say this is the best holiday accommodation we have ever stayed in! Faultless. And I am picky! :)

Magnifique gîte très bien aménagé, lieu idéal pour la quiétude et la découverte de la Région

Le gîte a été entièrement refait, tout est neuf, et il ne manque rien. De nombreuses délicates attentions des propriétaires viennent agrémenter l'arrivée et le séjour. Les hôtes sont adorables, très discrets mais à l'écoute du moindre besoin. L'environnement est très calme, beau jardin fleuri, immense terrain pour que les chiens puissent courir, nombreux espaces de jeux pour les enfants, grande piscine sécurisée très agréable. Accès direct à pied à de nombreuses promenades. La Région est pleine de beaux endroits à découvrir, avec à proximité le Château de Chalais (à visiter), le village d'Aubeterre sur Dronne et les Etangs de Guizengeard. Nous recommandons vivement cet endroit
