UPDATE: There are NO tasting room fees for our guests (pass required) at four local, family-owned wineries in Kenwood: Ty Caton Vineyards, Muscardini Cellars, Loxton Cellars, and Deerfield Ranch.

The Acorn Cottage is located approximately one hour north of San Francisco on scenic Highway 12. Your hosts, Bev and Jerry Stemach, invite you to indulge yourself in this charming vacation rental nestled among grapevines, olive trees, and ancient oaks in the heart of the Sonoma wine valley.

The cottage is generously appointed. Enjoy a private hot tub and patio, a bottle of petit verdot made from our grapes, breakfast provisions, and other delightful additions.

If you are inclined to explore, an array of exciting experiences are minutes away: hiking in local State parks or along coastal beaches, biking on backroads, dining in restaurants in Kenwood, Glen Ellen, and Sonoma, and wine tasting throughout Sonoma County's 13 viticulture regions. Napa Valley is just over the hill.

Bev and Jerry have lived here for nearly 40 years and they love sharing their insider recommendations to make your stay memorable. Read a few reviews if you need convincing.

This property exceeded all of our expectations. The property was super clean and the hosts provided many extras, such as park passes, wine tasting passes, and private wine tasting on their property. We had access to the entire property, which is very private, but still close to great restaurants, wineries, and hiking opportunities. The hosts are absolutely fantastic. Best property we have ever stayed at.

We had a amazing time at the Acorn Cottage. It was everything and more that any of the 5-star ratings and reviews indicated. Jerry & Bev have a sweet gift of hospitality! My wife and I said it was the best vacation rental experience we have ever had! The cottage and location were peaceful and had beautifully landscaped grounds. We loved the hot tub, privacy, breakfast on the deck looking at the old oak tree, vineyard and gardens. It was a good location to drive to various Sonoma towns for hiking, biking and culinary/winery adventures. We definitely hope to return and can't thank Jerry & Bev enough as it was a needed vacation and great way to celebrate our anniversary!

One of the best places I've stayed. Perfect for two people. Clean, charming and the hosts are next level. They really go above and beyond on many levels. Can't say enough about how wonderful the property is and the hosts are. Will 100% be returning.

Our stay here at Acorn house was amazing! Bev and Jerry are the best hosts and have the most beautiful property. The house is so cute, fully stocked with all the necessities, and in a quiet peaceful location. We feel so lucky we found this available and can't wait to plan a trip back. Bevs banana bread is delicious and Jerry has great stories to share, plus, we learned a lot about wine and Sonoma!

Words cannot describe how special Jerry and Bev made us feel. Right from the beginning upon them greeting us we knew that our stay was going to be an exceptional one.Starting with the amenities which included a fully stocked refrigerator of water, juice, beer, yogurt, milk, creamer, fruit, and cheese. There was coffee, muffins, banana bread, and crackers...and on top of that some wine (port) for us beside our bed. Then there was a lovely hot tub amidst the beautiful manicured grounds and vineyard (to which they gave us free access to the 4 acres on the property). It was so private that they said the hot tub was bathing suit optionalOn top of this they provide free passes to 2 state parks in the area, as well as free tastings at 4 of the local wineries. But the real value of our stay was their hospitality, which made our stay more like the combination of a bed & breakfast and a VRBO.This is a wonderful hidden gem in a beautiful setting with wonderful accommodations and extraordinary hosts. We're encouraging all of our friends to visit our new found family as we can't wait to go back.

Wonderful Stay at Acorn Cottage!

We had such an amazing time at the Acorn Cottage. The cottage was adorable and Bev and Jerry were great hosts. They had the place stocked with essentials and even shared with us a glass of wine in their lovely wine room. We will definitely recommend this to anyone looking to stay in the Sonoma area.

Secluded Get-Away!

Beautiful, clean and accomodating! Our hosts keep a very lovely and well thought out rental! Complete with welcome snacks and wine from their own vineyard! We would 100% stay on this property again as it was homey, quiet and peaceful.

Wonderful Hosts and sweet cottage

The Acorn House is a lovely cottage and the hosts were exceptional. They were very accommodating and generous, including leaving us a Marin cheese and crackers, homemade banana bread, wine, beer and bottled water. The hot tub was great and the property is private and secluded.

Wonderfully peaceful

My daughter and i stayed for a short weekend and didn't want to leave. The hosts were so lovely and shared some wonderful goodies in our cottage. We didn't have much time to visit but hopefully will be back again soon.

Amazing Experience in Wine Country

My girlfriend and I stayed for a week to celebrate a birthday, and this place was one of the highlights! The property itself is beautiful and quiet, and maintained to a standard that shows thoughtfulness and care. The hosts are the nicest people, they seem to actually care that people enjoy their stay on the property and in the area.

Fantastic Memorial Day weekend

We had a fantastic stay at the acorn house. The place is beautiful and immaculate. The grounds were gorgeous and we used the awesome hot tub day and night. By far the best VRBO I’ve stayed. Bev and Gerry we amazing hosts as well. We’ll be back!

Jerry and Bev Stemach are life-long residents of Northern California. They have lived in wine country for 40 years and have hosted guests for 20 years. They farm petit verdot grapes under the Sonoma Valley appellation. Petit verdot is a Bordeaux varietal often used as a blending grape. When it comes to winery and restaurant recommendations, guests consistently describe Jerry and Bev as "spot on".
