Welcome!! Fish & Sips is a gorgeous, "Old Florida" style home located on Pine Island. It is a hidden gem for fishing and the adventurous type!
The house is much roomier than it appears from the outside. With 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, it boasts high ceilings and an open layout with 1800sq ft+ of air conditioned space. It also offers a breezy, open front porch along with a large screened lanai area enclosing back deck, master deck and the heated, saltwater pool area with gas grill.

A well stocked kitchen with coffee maker with capability of full carafe or K-cups, toaster, blender, Kitchen Aide Stand Mixer, convection oven and so much more, lends itself to vacation meal making. There is also an outdoor table with running water for fish cleaning on side of home.

The master suite is the highlight of the bedrooms and bathrooms boasting a large and open space with a king sized bed and sofa, French doors open out to a small garden deck overlooking pool area where morning coffee can be shared while watching the sun rise. The dreamy master bath area has a double sink, glass enclosed shower and what we refer to as the "cereal bowl", a beautiful, round pedestal soaking tub. With a tankless water heater and the solid surface tub, you can enjoy a nice steamy bath after a long hike or beach day or just linger in a bubble filled tub on a rainy day!

Plenty of books and some games along with smart TVs in living room and all bedrooms to keep you busy should you encounter imperfect weather.
The home feels much larger than it is with the high ceilings and open layout. The home vibe exudes island living and relaxation with a comfortable and tastefully decorated beach and fishing theme throughout.

Just 3 blocks away from water access for kayaking and fishing, is Tropical Point Park.
The gorgeous islands of Captiva and Sanibel are a short drive away and can be accessed even quicker by boat with Sanibel being visible from the bottom of St James City. Rent or bring a boat for access to Cayo Costa or other islands and explore the many unspoiled and pristine beaches.

We offers kayaks for use as well as bikes and two scooters. There is some fishing equipment, beach chairs, beach umbrella, beach towels, binoculars and beach bags for use.
Last but not least explore our island along with Matlacha Island for shops, marinas, bait and tackle and many incredible restaurants and bars!

A True Gem

Suzi was the perfect host. Communication from her was on point. The house and environment created for guests as a home away from home was perfect for our family or 7. We enjoyed the well stocked kitchen, the decorations around the property, the comfort of the inside and outside amenities, and the pool/lanai. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to create ever-lasting memories with our family!

Wonderful Oasis

This home is beautifully decorated, warm and welcoming. We enjoyed everything about it. Situated on a quiet, private lot with Tropical Point park right down the street, the location is awesome. We stayed for two months and enjoyed the kayaks, bikes and beautiful pool. Pine Island is one of our favorite places and we have stayed here before but this home was the absolute best ever. The fishing is fantastic too! Suzi and Rick are the friendliest, most responsive hosts. Thanks for sharing your home. Looking forward to making more memories there.

Amazing, Beautiful, Relaxing Honeymoon! Don’t Miss This Vacation Spot!!!

I highly recommend staying at this beautiful house. We are already counting down until we can come back! The house has everything you could need - great kitchen, beautiful lanai, and the pool is amazing. Not to mention the beautiful landscaping - Suzi has a green thumb and it shows! They also provide bikes, kayaks, fishing gear, beach chairs…everything you could need. Suzi is an amazing host, she is very easily accessible and gave us so many amazing recommendations for dining and activities. I asked Suzi if she could have a bottle of champagne in the fridge for us on our arrival to celebrate the honeymoon - she and Rick went above and beyond with big bottle of champagne and boxes of beautiful and delicious pastries and desserts (which we ate much quicker than I’d like to admit!) A day trip to Cayo Costa is an absolute must, the beach is gorgeous there. There are also so many fantastic restaurants. We especially loved the Perfect Cup for coffee on Matlacha, the Tarpon Lodge on Pine Island for our last dinner to celebrate (the meal was unbelievable), and if you go to Sanibel you have to go to the Pecking Order for some excellent fried chicken. We were so happy to spend our honeymoon here and highly recommend renting from Suzi and Rick!

Beautiful must stay house.

Location was quiet and beautiful. Even though there were no beaches there was plenty to do. Kayaking was fun. Many yummy places to eat. Winn Dixie was full size grocery store and really close.

Cozy beach house

This property was exactly what we saw online. The area was quiet and very peaceful. We found the home was well kept, stocked with all necessary items to cook. The owner was quick to respond and very kind. They even gave us ideas of places in the area to take the kids for sightseeing. It was fun to kayak with the provided kayaks at tropical point park which was very close to the property. Overall was a fantastic place and our family would love to visit again. Thank you

My favorite VRBO so far!

We had 4 Adults on our vacation. This house is exactly as described. Very homey! It is decorated very nicely with all sorts of beach and seashore decor. Beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the pool, screened in back porch and the front porch in the evening when cooler. We had 90 degree days but the winds were higher when we were there so we didn't get a chance to take the kayaks to the close by boat launch. But we did take them to the Galt preserve (close by) one day and a few other places since we had a truck rental. We road the bikes in the neighborhood one night. Kitchen was stocked with extras, like spices, coffee(at least until we could get more), sugar, paper towels and tp. We saw an Osprey in the tree enjoying his catch in the tree above the pool one morning, little newts or lizards, a few got in the the porch area, so cute. Bunny and squirrels enjoy the jungle like area behind the pool area, very serene. Lots of plants! This is my favorite place we have stayed on vacation with VRBO!! I just wish the beach was a little closer

Florida Paradise

We spent a week at the Baskin’s property. It was a most relaxing stay. We spent most of our days in the pool. They had plenty of beach towels available. The kitchen was well appointed, everything for cooking was available including a gas grill. We used the bikes to check out the neighborhood. They also had kayaks available to use and the launch area was just down the road. You could even use the bikes to tow the kayaks. The house was very professionally designed, all bedrooms offered plenty of storage. Every where you looked there was a cool beachy item. Plenty of space, lots of things to do & well appointed. We would return to this property and recommend it highly.

We so appreciated all the different amenities. From the comfortable home, to the beautiful pool, to the fun bikes and the exciting kayaks, we enjoyed them all! Wonderful Stay

This is a great place to get away from it all! The house is perfect. The beds r great. Our favorite part of the house is the back porch and swimming pool! It was January and a little chilly but being from Pa. this didn't bother us, we still sat outside for our meals. We only went out to eat twice in 2 weeks cause we just liked being at the house. Suzi has supplied everything you need for a great vacation. We used the kayaks and bikes several times. Very friendly neighborhood. Suzi does her best to make sure you feel comfortable. Everything is just as you see it on line. If we are in Florida in the future we will definitely want to stay at Baskin's Fish & Sips! My sister in law wants to go back to the house with her whole family. lol Thanks Suzi for letting us enjoy your home.

Relaxing getaway

We loved staying at Suzi’s house - it met every need for our family. The house itself is beautiful and functional, and the outdoor space expands on that. We loved getting out on the bikes and kayaks, and sharing family dinners in the screened in outdoor area. If we were to come back to Pine Island we would definitely stay at this house again.

Great place to relax away from hustle & bustle

The home was just as fabulous when we got there as the photos display. The decor was my favorite part of the house, very tasteful coastal be adding that was super comfy. Mattresses were in good shape and that’s always a plus! Kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to say in cook all of our meals. All appliances were in excellent condition. The pool was an awesome amenity that I had to have in choosing our home on Vrbo , this one was beautiful and refreshing on the hot sultry days. We implemented kayaks, bike, and went fishing. Couple of the kayaks needed new seats and bike chain came off one of the bikes we rode but nothing a little tlc can’t take care of. Beautiful week, loved traveling through Matlacha to the home from the airport! Cayo Great time spent with my favorite people celebrating my 50th Bday❤️

Hidden piece of paradise

We spent 90% of our vacation at the property, especially in the saltwater pool and outdoor area. Very relaxing atmosphere inside and out. I am an avid fisherman but had no desire to get out of the pool and leave behind my bluetooth radio, cooler full of beer, and the smell of the bbq grill with our next meal on it. Needless to say for us personally It was a much needed decompressing local get away

Amazing St James Retreat

This place has made it to our favorites. Thank you Suzi for everything. Your home is so beautiful. The decor is so fitting, feels like your vacationing at the beach. I think our favorite part is that the house is surrounded by trees. You can’t see your neighbors except across the street in the front. Salt water pool is very refreshing after a hot day on the boat. Boat ramp is very close! Lots of room with four bedrooms. The deck is very a relaxing and cozy place while listening to the rain. Suzi is very sweet and is available for anything you need. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back!

If you love fishing and houses that have everything you pretty much need this is the place!

We had a awesome time at fish and sips even though it rained most of the time we were there. The owners are very interested in making sure you have everything you need to enjoy your stay! Even though it rained, we enjoyed the pool and the back yard. Setting out on the deck just listening to the rain and the local wildlife is so relaxing. Excellent Island Getaway

I can't say enough great things about this property. Suzi has thought of everything, it had everything you could possible need. The house itself was beautiful. It had a great split floor plan so traveling with 2 couples worked out great for us. The pool area was amazing. We did use the kayaks one morning. (kayak launch a short walk away) The location is great, short drive to restaurants, marinas, nature preserves and Matlacha. Check in/out was a breeze and great communication with owners with any questions. After seeing my pictures my girlfriends want to come back for a girls trip! I would highly recommend Baskins Fish n Sips!!

Awesome location!

We had 2 families meet to share a vacation and the space was perfect! Everything we needed, Suzi had available. The home was spaced ideally to allow everyone to be together, but also have some down-time when needed. The pool and lanai were our favorite locations, as we were escaping the MN/NY winters. The neighborhood was wonderful for biking/walking and we were close enough to the small towns/cities to go and explore/eat without feeling like it was a waste of time. We definitely hope to return to Baskin's Fish & Sips! Thank you again, Suzi for the wonderful accommodations.

Very comfortable. Met all of our needs and we were just happy hanging out there.

The owner obviously wanted the guests to feel at home! There were very few items that weren’t provided. We felt she went above and beyond! And to top it off, she decorated the place with great skill. We were so very pleased.

Great place for a getaway!

This little gem is the perfect getaway. It’s nestled in a remote area of the street with so much natural vegetation around it, you feel like your in old Florida. The house is just adorable. It feels like home. Suzi decorates this place just perfect for the setting. We did not use the pool but only because we took advantage of being so close to beautiful beaches. You want for nothing at this place. They have thought of every necessity and then some. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay on pine island!

We're Rick & Suzi Baskin. We both have ties to Florida and decided in 2016 that we would make our dream come true of owning our own little piece of it.
Living twice in Florida during my fathers Air Force training, I was exposed and forever changed by the beauty and free spirit of the state. The sun and the salt found its way to my heart and has stayed with me. Ricks parents both were Floridians and all of his siblings were born in the state as well. We both have always been drawn back to the area and for years we have visited the Gulf Coast and called it our favorite vacation spot. We started house hunting in 2016 and finally found our home in June 2017.
We both love to kayak fish, days on the beach, gardening and caring for our property! We are hoping that we will retire (early if we’re lucky) to the coast, in our much loved home.

When we found this house we immediately knew it was the one for us! It screams Old Florida and offers a front porch and a back lanai on a double lot. The floor plan is open with vaulted ceilings making for a beautiful, spacious and relaxing space where you can't help but feel at home. It is located in a neighborhood with many other homes of varying styles and is located just a few short blocks from Tropical Point Park where you can launch your kayak, paddle board or even launch a small boat. The water is fairly shallow and is perfect for wade fishing or you can always throw out a beach chair and make friends with the local birds.
We are so excited to share our special place with so many others. A place that truly lets you kick back and relax or brings out the adventurer in you. You choose!!

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

The house looks deceivingly small from the outside but once through the front door, you realize it is large, open and inviting. The home has a beachy personality, making it incredibly easy to just relax. Lots of nice areas to get together with everyone or find your own space to cuddle up with a book.
Since hurricane Ian, we have remolded areas of the home as well as the landscape. Though we have lost a lot of the surrounding trees which opened up our once very private property, we have taken steps to plant things to bring that privacy back as the landscape matures .
There are now two areas with hammocks. One in the front and one in the back. Both areas are planted with plenty of plants and palms to make it a relaxing experience in a secluded little area.
The back lanai attaches to the the pool area and is a great place to hang out in the sun or the shade with friends or family. The pool is saltwater and is refreshing in the summer or can be heated for a warm swim in the winter.
With a beautiful house, unique landscaping and beautiful pool area, you can't go wrong!
