The indoor pool and sauna are a bonus enjoyed by all. Red squirrels sighted daily in the extensive garden . This is our second family holiday in this palatial house.

Back Again!

Back to Oughtershaw Hall for a weekend with our family of 15. This was our fourth stay which was yet again amazing. The house and grounds continue to be maintained to the highest standard. Tara & Ben were great as usual to deal with, and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

Well what can I say…… This was our third visit to Oughtershaw Hall in two years, and it was just as great as the first time we visited. It really feels like home from home now. Thanks Tara and Ben for looking after us, we’ll see you again soon!

A Beautiful Historical home to enjoy with your family in stunning surroundings

This was our first time at Oughtershaw Hall and we had an amazing time. The home is absolutely stunning with spacious rooms to accommodate everyone. Its a grand space with a cozy atmosphere. The team that look after the property are friendly and helpful. The house has amazing grounds which can be enjoyed all year round. If your looking for some where special to make happy memories Oughtershaw will not disappoint!

Another remarkable week

This was our twelfth visit to the Hall over several years, each time we are always impressed by the quality of the property. Well maintained, excellent facilities, warm and comfortable. The location is excellent, walking, photography (especially for no light pollution night shots) there is virtually everything you could want. Will we be back - undoubtedly!

Another excellent visit

This is our umpteenth visit to Oughtershaw Hall and, again, we were not disappointed. This time our pre-Christmas No Tinsel week was as good as ever. Such a comfortable place to stay. The walk along the Beck is a little different at this time of year, varying from a mere trickle to a flow resembling the Orinoco - just had to play Enya when we got back into the warmth of the Hall. Our plans for next year are already coming to fruition. Thank you for such lovely accommodation in a truly wonderful part of the country.

Perfect venue for a weekend away with loved ones

Oughtershaw Hall has everything you could possibly need. Ben and Tara cater to all your needs and go above and beyond to make sure you have everything. Once you get to Oughtershaw, you don't really need to go anywhere else! The property is top quality and has enough space that everyone is more than comfortable. There are plenty of places to explore, relax, cook and even swimming and a sauna. It caters for everyone and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

The most stunning property and location

This property is outstanding along with the location and grounds it sits in. We are a large family catering for needs from an 88 year old to 6 month old baby and we did not want for anything. The facilities were excellent with the added benefit of swimming pool and sauna . The property was spotlessley clean and very comfortable ,there was also ample parking. Ben who met us at the property was great ,he explained everything to us and even produced a bottle of wine as it was my sisters 60th Birthday celebration weekend. We would have no hesitation to book again and we are actually planning for next year, I would also suggest for Sunday lunch to go to The George Inn which is about 5 miles away

Excellent (again)

I'm lucky enough to have enjoyed several stays at Oughtershaw and it never falls anywhere short of brilliant. The new riverside walk is a fantastic addition to the estate and was enjoyed by all the members of our family from George (1) to Great-Granma (84). We had birthday and retirement celebrations, a murder mystery evening, and lots of time just enjoying the house, the facilities and the surrounding countryside. The walk down Langstrothdale to 'Helen's House' has to be one of our favourite things to do in the whole world and this year I even made it up the ramp at the end of the return leg in one go. We love it here and hope to be back again very soon.

Breathtaking

A truly spectacular property in very good condition, with everything you could need. Scrupulously clean. Well equipped kitchen which was a joy to cook in. Lots of comfy places to curl up with a book or join in family games. The pool is gorgeous. The only setback for us was that the house is very isolated and there was nothing (apart from spectacular walks and views) for miles around, so every trip or meal out for our group of 11 meant 3 people did a lot of driving, on top of long journeys to and from Yorkshire (from as far as Brussels). None of this detracts from the loveliness of our week or our desire to return.

Beautiful and Luxurious Place to Stay!

Oughtershaw Hall is a beautiful place to stay, perfect in every way. The house has been done up to an excellent and very tasteful standard - no expense spared! It feels so comfortable, cosy and enjoyable being there, despite it being fairly large all the home-comforts really does make it a very special and warm place to come and either relax or enjoy a special get together. We especially appreciated the swimming pool and sauna (including the kids) as well as the basement games room for the kids. One thing to note, it's setting is very rural so perfect if you want a bit of peace and quiet but just to note it is not any where too near to main towns/cities so if the weather is poor the swimming pool/games rooms/TV would be your options.... Lastly, we want to say a big thank you to Ben, Estate Manager, excellent in every way and very friendly and helpful as was Tara when booking our stay. Overall an excellent and beautiful stay, thank you very much to all.

Great Holiday

We enjoyed our family time together at the lovely Oughtershaw Hall. There was always plenty to do, from water volleyball in the stunning pool, walking round the gardens, playing games in the cellar, sitting by the fire chatting, barbecuing, playing board games, sweating it out in the sauna, watching the wild life in the garden, playing football, gathering round for family meals and a wonderful place to have a treasure hunt! The facilities were super, luxuriously warm everything so well stocked. We enjoyed some scenic walks (one in the rain and some in the dry) and it was always lovely to return to the welcoming Hall with only the sheep to disturb if we were laughing too loudly! Ben was very helpful, respectful and unobtrusive. We have all come home with some marvellous family memories.

A wonderful experience from start to finish. Excellent venue and customer service. Fabulous Venue!!!

The most amazing weekend!! Oughtershaw is the most stunning venue, and we will definitely be back. All of the rooms are individual and have their own character. Every single person in our group was stunned by how beautiful the hall was, the grounds and the hall are breath taking. Everything was super clean, the beds were really comfy and to have a sauna and a pool was amazing. We were all excited about the weekend and kept looking at the video and pictures, I can honestly say the pictures on the website just don't do it justice. It's more fabulous in reality. I would also like to say that from my initial contact with Tara and the welcome received from Ben, I could not fault the personal customer service. 5 star if not more!

The most amazing holiday house ….ever!

Three generations stayed at Oughtershaw Hall to celebrate my upcoming 70th birthday . Even before we arrived Tara and her team had been so helpful with our various queries ( extra duvets, no feathers , car charging ) Ben was there to meet us as we arrived and we felt at home straight away …the treat basket and sunflowers were a nice touch . The sunflowers provided the only sun we saw that week but the house was so spacious and the grounds so beautiful we still had an amazing time ….and of course there was the swimming pool! Just the right size ( and depth) for “ proper swimming” but also to accommodate the crocodile, dolphin and doughnuts that added to the fun and games . There were so many comfortable areas to just sit and look at the view or enjoy sitting by the fires….it was chilly some evenings but everything was available for fire lighting . Even after we left the great service continued and my youngest grandchild’s soft toy which was found under a bed will be posted back to him . We would love to return !

A Family Tradition

We’ve just returned from another stay at Oughtershaw Hall and, having been coming here for several years now, I can honestly say it never disappoints. The children absolutely love it, especially the pool and outdoor space, and they literally count down the days until we go! It’s always lovely to arrive and find the hall looking immaculate, both inside and out. It’s really well equipped too, so you have everything you need for a comfortable stay. A special mention to Tara and Ben, who are both brilliant. Tara is always so helpful with the bookings and Ben, the Estate Manager, is there to greet us when we arrive and is always on hand if there’s ever a problem or we need anything during our stay. They both make everything feel really easy and relaxed. We always have a lovely time here and it’s become a bit of a family tradition for us. This was our 5th visit since 2022, so I think that probably says it all! It feels like a home away from home for us now. ❤️ Already looking forward to the next one!

Another fantastay

This is the 2nd stay at this wonderful place. Absolutely fantastic house with great facilities. The pool & sauna were even better in the cold weather. The caretaker Ben was amazing, nothing too much trouble he even came to help did the cars out when we had a dump snow. This added to our enjoyment and the Christmas season. We hope to return very soon.

Memorable family gathering

Family from around the globe gathered at Outershaw Hall to celebrate Mum's 90th birthday. From the minute we arrived and were welcomed by Ben, to our leaving and once again chatting with him, we all had a wonderful time. With ages ranging from 18 to 90 there was something for everyone, meeting in the evenings for dinner in the kitchen/dining/lounge area: a space so perfect for us that many of the other ground floor rooms were never used. The bedrooms were all comfortable, with lovely views, and the bathrooms spotlessly clean and warm. The kitchen was well equipped with all we could possibly need, and we made good use of the sauna, swimming pool and games room. We enjoyed lunches at The George in Hubberholme, and the wonderful walks right on the doorstep. The welcome basket and bubbly were an unexpected and much appreciated surprise. Thank you for a most enjoyable and memorable stay.

A repeat visit - just as good as, if not better than, the previous ones.

We have visited Oughtershaw Hall several times over the last few years. A group of 16 friends coming together for a week in a splendid property in a lovely part of the world. We made full use of all of the excellent facilities - swimming pool, sauna, games room, thoroughly enjoying ourselves. Now, with a covered walk way through to the swimming pool, there's no need to brave the elements going for a swim. The surrounding countryside has many excellent walks, good pubs, great views and, is in God's Own County, who could ask for more. The bedrooms are warm, airy, comfortable, clean and tidy. Cooking facilities can exercise the organisation of Sunday Lunch somewhat challenging, but a large lunch was served to everyone's satisfaction. Help is on hand should there be problems, Ben is a real asset. Always cheerful, happy to oblige, and rapidly responsive if there are problems. All in all, a great week (again) in a great property. Would we go back again? A resounding "Yes, most definitely".

Weekend reunion with university friends

Fantastic accommodation in a very beautiful location. Everything about Oughtershaw hall requires superlatives to describe: Decor, furnishings, comfort, kitchen, bathrooms, pool, sauna, views- all absolutely amazing. Customer service was excellent before and on arrival. We had a thoroughly relaxing and restorative stay!

Fun for all the family

Just returned from an amazing family weekend at Oughtershaw Hall for my mums surprise 70th. The perfect venue for our party of 16. The property was very grand with plenty of room for our party of various ages to all feel comfortable and enjoy the house and the impressive and well maintained grounds. The house was lovely and clean, extremely well equipped and the pool and sauna were the icing on the cake. Ben met us on arrival, he was very helpful and was only a phone call away if needed. The welcome hamper, flowers and champagne were a lovely touch. A fabulous weekend was had by all, lots of great memories made and we hope to return again in the future. Thanks for having us
