Cottage with both Creek & Ocean Views, steps to the Village

Capitola living at its best! Stay in the heart of the Village with both ocean and creek views. Enjoy walking less than a block to Capitola Beach, dining and shops. This delightful waterfront cottage is just a few steps to Soquel Creek, the "River" and a private waterfront garden escape. Fully furnished, the cottage offers one bedroom and bath plus a Murphy bed in the living room. There is a full kitchen, dining area and deck.

Recent storms did not damage this house or most of the Village. Shops and eateries are thriving. Guests are greatly enjoying the water view deck. Washer/dryer are in the garage.

Guests may park one car in the left side of the garage and one in the center of the carport on the street behind it. Relax by the "River" or stroll to the Village or Beach. Shadowbrook restaurant and many other favorites are nearby. Grocery stores, banks etc. are about 1/2 mile away. Feel free to ask Janet, the property manager for a tour of Capitola.

Quiet hours are 7pm to 7am. Please do not move interior furniture outdoors. We allow 2 days between guests. No pets. Park in center of 3 car carport.

Just was good . But the place even though it’s on the river walk it is in desperate need of up dating . The owner was responsive but the water heater was turned down . Cable was not working and the roof had a leak. We were credited a nights stay for the inconvenience.

We have stayed in this charming cottage for several years. We feel this is the best location in Capitola…on the river, under the trestle with views of the ocean and the village. We love this place. There are two parking places which is a big plus, as well as a washer and dryer in the garage. Don’t forget to book the classic taxi for a ride to the famous Shadowbrook restaurant up the hill.

What a perfect little cottage in a prime location. We loved being able to walk to downtown and the beach, sit by the river, BBQ on the deck, relax in the historic living space and, importantly, park 2 cars in the carport! Janet was a great communicator and we had everything we needed. At one point my sister looked around and said, "how did we manage to get this place?!" We've already booked another week next year.

Convenient central location with valuable private reserved & covered parking spot. We enjoyed seeing passersby on the path that bisects all properties along the adjacent stream-backwater near the beach. Bed was comfortable. Manager was eager to make sure we had everything we needed. This was our second stay here.

Very very nice cottage. Just right for two people.

Spent nine days in the cottage. Could use new frying pans. Currant pans could fry meat or hot dogs but not eggs. The TV was a little complicated Two remotes and difficult to locate channels. But over all. Great fun and very relaxing.

We stayed at the cottage for one week. It's a quaint cottage right on the river. You can see the beach from the back deck. The cottage was neat and very comfortable for 2 people. It is located in a great spot and it's easy to walk to everything in the Village. It comes with a parking spot which is very nice, especially in the busy summer months. Would recommend and would stay there again.

The Cabin

Very beautiful views from patio. House small with a lot of character. The town of Capitola is fun, lots of shops, restaurants. Everything is within walking distance. Enjoyed our stay!

Another delightful stay!

This is our 4th time staying a week in the charming cottage. It has become our all-time favorite vacation spot. The view, the village, the shops, the railroad trestle and of course dinner at Shadowbrook! The cottage is quaint, with lots of history and the deck is outfitted with wicker rocking chairs , umbrellas and a table. A great place to watch the people walking by on their way to the beach.

Charming perfectly located cottage.

Comfortable cottage for two. Loved covered parking, good WiFi, full kitchen & comfortable bed. Nice bathroom remodel, and handy washer/dryer. Watching holiday floats on adjacent waterway was an unexpected plus. Property manager, Janet Russel, responded quickly as we became familiar with property layout.

Wonderful

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful spot in Capitola. It is steps away from restaurants, shops, and the beach. The weather was just perfect and the view from the living room, or from the outdoor area, was so beautiful and relaxing. The house was nicely decorated and set up with everything we needed. The location was also the perfect jumping-off point for many adventures around Monterey Bay. Just wonderful.

Its all so comfortable except the bathroom. The toilet is old and the shower is very small. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedroom iscomfortable. Love the murphy bed

Locations is tops! From the deck you can enjoy the Soquel Creek or in a distance the beach and ocean, plus it’s only a very short walk to town. Everything was fine, except owner needs to put a shade on the window by the table in the living room/eating area as this is also where the murphy bed is located. Highly recommend this cute one bedroom one bath historical home.

Another glorious visit!

This is the third time we have stayed in this delightful cabin on the river. This quaint cottage brings back my days of visiting Capitola in the 60’s. It’s right on the river, a few houses from the bridge. You can enjoy the river view, the ocean view with a touch of the colorful Venetian, and be steps away from the village. This is by far our favorite stay as we relax on the deck and interact with the passerby’s as they trek to the beach. Of course we have to take the free antique taxi to Shadowbrook for a magical date at this famous restaurant. Be sure to take the funicular down to the restaurant for an extra treat. The cottage has all the amenities that you need to make your own dinners as well as wifi and tv. And of course Capitola is close to Santa Cruz as well as many other attractions in this area. A gem of a place!!

Clean, well-provisioned, perfectly located (5 min. walk to beach/shops). Parking included is a big plus. Owner and host both pleasant/helpful. Check-in botched due to travel plans of host. Consider it a one-off. Refund given to compensate.

My friend and I were so pleased with this adorable cottage right on the river and with a view of the ocean waves. The bedroom was roomy with comfy bed.
