Saturday to Saturday weekly rents June through August. 3 day minimum at other times.

Marian Cottage is in Scilly ideal for those who want to enjoy the extensive leisure facilities available locally or the many friendly pubs and restaurants that have led to Kinsale being called the Gourmet Capital of Ireland. Marian Cottage is a 7 minutes' walk from Kinsale town centre where you will find many interesting shops, art galleries and museums. The properties have off-street parking and free WiFi.

Marian Cottage sleeps 2+1 on sofa bed. Studio layout. Large bathroom with claw foot bath and separate power shower. Patio garden suntrap.

Marian Cottage is next door to Cara's Cottage (sleeps 4) so they can be rented together for larger parties. Please note to book Cara's Cottage you will need to navigate to its own listing on HomeAway.

Kinsale:: Winner of European prize for Tourism and the Environment, Entente Florale, National Tidy Town, Gourmet Capital - one of Ireland's oldest towns, with narrow streets and many historic buildings to explore; all sheltered by a beautiful harbour.

Museums, historic forts, art galleries, craft shops, not to mention the 40+ bars and restaurants that give Kinsale its reputation for good food and that Irish only phenomenon called 'craic'. Oh, and the Guinness is good too!

For the active: Choose from 3 golf courses including the spectacular and world renowned Links at The Old Head of Kinsale, deep-sea fishing, sailing or perhaps a harbour cruise. Maybe spend a day at one of the many 'empty' beaches nearby or perhaps visit the Norman built 12th century church of St Multose and 15th century Desmond Castle which houses the International Museum of Wine, or the twin 17th century forts guarding the entrance to the harbour to learn about our town that is one of the oldest in Ireland.

Whatever is for you, you will find it here in Kinsale.

Getting here: Is easy with direct flights to Cork from most UK and many European airports. Coming from America? Cork is only a 3 hours car journey from Dublin and 2 hours from Shannon Airport.

If you're arriving by car Cork Ferryport, serving Roscoff in France, is only 14 miles away.

We absolutely loved this lovely cottage. Close to town, a lovely pub, and terrific hikes. Better than described and we are already planning a future stay. Thanks Mark, for being a great host.

The Marian Cottage is a gem of a place for a stay in Kinsale. Mark our host was welcoming and helpful as could be. The cottage has everything you would need for a comfortable holiday. The location is quite convenient and nearby to wonderful restaurants. We would come again!

A perfect stay in Kinsale. My wife and I have rented well over a 100 VRBOs across Europe. The Mariam Cottage is in our top 3 -- comfortable and spacious. So very convenient to downtown-- easy 5 minute walk down the hill. The Spaniard Bar is just across the road and the Mad Friday restaurant (great food) is 50 yards away. We highly -- I mean -- highly recommend the Mariam Cottage.Todd

Quintessential Irish Cottage

What a lovely cottage! Everything was perfect - from the welcome scones, butter, jam and fresh flowers from the host to the quaint cottage furnishings with modern conveniences; this cottage has it all. Perfect for a couple. Thank you, Mark, for making our trip to Ireland so memorable!

Quiet Lovely cottage

Host was easy to contact. The cottage was clean, quaint, and had everything you will need for a lovely stay, Mark was very friendly and made sure everything we needed was taken care off. His attention to detail in the cottage and few little extra details added to how homey and comfortable we felt. Perfect spot to be able to walk to the town and a few of the historic sites nearby.

Marian's cottage was a fantastic place from which to base our week long explorations of Kinsale and the greater Cork county. The host, Mark, met us as we arrived and was friendly and responsive to any requests throughout our stay. They small courtyard was a perfect place to unwind with an evening beverage surrounded by a small garden. We easily walk to Charles Fort and to the town for exploration, shopping, and dining. There was ample private parking at the cottage. The kitchen was well appointed with all the necessary tools and equipment, which we used extensively. The dining table in the kitchen provided a cozy place for our meals. In the living area, there was a wood stove available, which we did not use, but was supplied with everything needed for a cozy fire. The living area provided a place to stretch out and relax. The bathroom was quite large with a soaking tub and plenty of countertop space for toiletries (somewhat rare in Ireland, I think). The water pressure was amazing, making showers a joy. There was both a rainfall showerhead and a separate wand that could envelope you in quite a luxurious spray. Truly, I wish I could get that kind of water pressure at our home in the States. We also took advantage of the washer and dryer while we were there. We would not hesitate to recommend this cottage for a self-catering stay. It was perfect for the two of us.

Perfection

We were greeted with scones, butter, jelly and flowers on the kitchen table. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed for our 4 week stay. The garden was lovely for reading or a meal. I was able to easily work remotely part of the time as the wi/fi connection was great. The pictures do not do it justice. Mark was the perfect host. Always there when you needed him, otherwise we had the place to ourselves. The location is perfect- quiet, yet very convenient to the village with all of the great restaurants and shops, and to the wonderful pub - The Spaniard - only 92 steps away. I can’t say enough good things about the cottage and our stay. Perfection.

Lovely cottage in quieter area

Beautiful little cottage set just above town. Pub and restaurants a quick walk away, and many options just a short, safe, and pleasant walk to town. Walk up or down a couple of streets from the cottage and you are on the high road (cars and beautiful views) or low road (foot path and a beautiful stroll) to Summercove and Fort Charles. We never needed our car once we arrived, as we asked everywhere. The cottage is comfortable and is well equipped with amenities and thoughtful touches. On the downside, there is basic tv but with limited channel selections, if that is important to you, and the internet is slow (pages took awhile to load, etc) and my husband did have some frustration getting his email, news briefs, etc, (but I found it adequate for planning our daily activities, etc). The WiFi in the pub just across the street (The Spaniard) was much faster, so husband found it convenient in the late mornings and evenings to sit in their bar with an espresso or pint and use his iPad there. Just know that it is sluggish in the cottage itself. Overall, however, we would return in a heartbeat, and actually hope to do so soon! Mark was a great host, never hovering but always within text range. This will be our destination for return visits!

We're working on the WiFi, and hope to install a new box very soon. There are 4 Irish TV channels, and over 50 UK channels on the Satellite box. We'll make sure to make this clearer in the info manual in the cottage.

Thanks for your kind review. We do provide 2 contact phone numbers both in the VRBO Welcome Guide and in the Welcome Guide in the folder in the kitchen so I think these may have been overlooked at the time.

Very luxurious accommodation

This may be a studio cottage but the accommodation is very spacious and well furnished; we felt the living accommodation was as good as a one bedroomed cottage. The hosts have clearly paid great attention to detail. The kitchen was well supplied with cooking utensils and the bathroom fitted to a very high standard. We highly recommend a stay at Marian Cottage any time of the year.

Beautiful and convenient

The cottage was within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. It was spacious and clean with everything needed for convenience. Mark (owner) was close by and always available to help. We highly recommend this place and Kinsale.

Pleasant stay with no complaints.

Very well laid out with enough space for 2 people. Bright spacious working kitchen and bathroom with great shower. Good TV and internet connection. Mark and Diane were always contactable. Easy trip into town and 2 minutes from waters edge.
