Houseboat located 400 meters from the central station, featuring 2 separate apartments connected by a small hallway.
This is the perfect place for 2 couples, four friends, or a family of 4.
This is not a good option for people with mobility issues, as there is a steep staircase and steps throughout the property. Getting on board with a heavy suitcase is just the first physical challenge!
The minimum stay here is 3 nights.
The boat is the second and last one at the end of a pier, offering both a magnificent view and all the privacy you could imagine.
Both apartments have a kitchen, shower/bathroom, and bedroom and can be connected via a small passageway and a steep staircase or separated by two doors. They are centrally heated; the wheelhouse is equipped with an air conditioner.
The apartments are called the wheelhouse and the hold apartment. The Wheelhouse has a sleeping area in the rear section with a twin bed tucked under the floor. The ceiling height here is 110 cm, so you’ll need to get in on your knees.
There are several portholes here to let in fresh air.
The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator and a Nespresso machine, along with as many cups as you’d like. Cooking is not possible, so there is no gas stove or oven.
In front of the wheelhouse apartment is a terrace: here you can quietly enjoy the diverse aquatic life (from ducks to tourists in canal tour boats taking pictures of you).
The hold apartment is located in the rear section of the hold, where cargo was once stored.
Like the wheelhouse, it is constructed from many different types of wood.
With an area of 35 m², it offers more space than the wheelhouse. The kitchen is equipped with a dishwasher, a refrigerator, a Nespresso machine, and a kettle.
Regulations prohibit the use of a gas stove or oven.
There is a twin bed—two separate single beds placed side by side.
Dogs are not allowed on the boat.
The Bambooboat is within walking distance of most of the sights Amsterdam has to offer (in fact, it’s hard to be more central), and you can always use the (free) Bambooboat bikes to reach sights further away.
Those arriving by car can park in the Oosterdok Parking lot across from the boat; the entrance to the parking lot is about 800 meters away on foot, or they can park much more affordably at one of the Park and Ride facilities near the highway loop and get a free tram ticket.
