Cozy, family owned cottage!! Our cottage is in a very family friendly location.
This cottage is nestled on a private drive on Lake Mitchell. It has been recently renovated and expanded. All craftsmanship was done by hand and meticulously constructed to accommodate family getaways (beds for up to eight guests.
Lake Mitchell is a large lake with a firm sandy bottom and is shallow near shoreline for the little ones to play safely. It also connects to Lake Cadillac via a canal. Pontoon and fishing boats work best for Lake Mitchell.
Lake Mitchell is a lake for all the Michigan seasons. Enjoy the spring and summer with swimming, fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, boating and campfires. There is a large deck lakeside with over 260 square feet of additional outdoor living space. Absolutely gorgeous location for Fall color tours! It's also the perfect time to relax by the outdoor fire, watch the stars and take in the beauty of the lake. In the winter have a blast Skiing and snowmobiling. or just relax by with indoor gas fireplace or playing games.
Public access is available nearby to launch your own water craft and you can tie off on our private dock. Don't have your own pontoon or fishing boat, rent one from a local business.
Close to golfing, biking and running trails, ski resorts and groomed Snowmobile Trails.
Just minutes from Manistee National Forest

Wonderful cottage on a beautiful lake!

I stayed with my two young boys, ages 3 and 5, and had a great time! The lake was shallow enough that they could explore without life jackets, which they loved. The bottom was sandy and the water was warm. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for a great vacation. We had a few good campfires and made sā€™mores and hobo pies! The location was great and we explored some surrounding lakes and Sleeping Bear Dunes. I would definitely recommend this cottage for family vacations!

Our stay here could not have been more perfect !! the cottage is immaculate and charming and has all the conveniences you could possibly need... Beds are comfy with beautiful linens...Lots of dishes and kitchen ware...Sitting right on the lake you have a beautiful view...You have sun most of the day...Janice is a peach !! Fun family get away!

We had such an AWESOME time! Cabin was perfect, had everything we needed for a week of fun. Host was amazing! Even messaged us once we arrived to make sure we got in okay. She made us feel right at home. Great swimming and fishing right outside your door. PERFECT family get away. Will definitely be coming back!

Amazing spot!

We had a great stay on Lake Mitchell for the week. With three kids, this cottage had everything we needed. The lake is shallow by the dock, making swimming and water sports easy. Very well stocked kitchen. I have never stayed in a rental where they give you good knives for cooking/chopping and plenty of pantry space to store what you get from the store. We rented a raft and went out on the Pine River. It was beautiful. We even took our boat over to Lake Cadillac. What a great property and the owners were incredibly easy to work with. Will return again!

Really enjoyed our stay! The cottage was clean and functional for what we needed. The shallow sandy lake bottom was great for our kids. The owner/manager is super helpful. Would highly recommend!

Cute cabin with fantastic location

This cabin was so cute. We loved being on Lake Mitchell. The loft was great for our kids. The kitchen was well stocked (could use some ice trays). The water was sandy bottom and you could walk out forever (it seemed). Overall, great place to stay!

Great Place

The place is amazing. It is right on the lake. Very quiet. Majority of the time, the lake was completely empty even though it was middle of August with beautiful weather. The owners were very responsive to any questions we had. Very clean place. Well stocked. Had everything we need to live comfortably for a week. If you are not used to the well water, it can be hard to adjust to it. Our kids didnt like the water from the faucets. The lake is very shallow and warm, good for young kids. The older kids wanted it little deeper to go swimming. If you go out further to the deeper area (chest deep) there is a lot of seaweeds which my kids didnt like. There is a nice beach area by the state park that is great for swimming and making sandcastles. Overall a great place.

We had a good time on Lake Mitchell. The cottage is a good size for 6-7 people. The lake is shallow so our grand kids could play in the water.

Absolutely Awesome!

We just loved this place as did my daughter and 2 very young children. Plenty of room for all to sleep especially with the loft! My grandchildren loved the dock and being able to walk down the steps into the shallow sandy water. We would definitely stay here again!!

Great getaway on a beautiful lake

An amazing vacation for our family. The house and location was perfect for swimming & boating. The home had everything you would need & the owners were amazing to interact with. I would highly recommend this rental property.
