Who doesn't like to get away and head to the river for some R & R? Homosassa is known for it's fishing, scallop season, manatees and especially the springs. Guests are absolutely sure to enjoy a memorable vacation experience in this beautiful fully-furnished two-bedroom and two and half bathroom vacation rental. Our comfortable vacation rental is fully-furnished. Equipped with a working washer and dryer, you will never have to worry about running out of clean clothes. Prepare your families favorite meals in our fully-equipped kitchen. Our 47 foot dock (only 24 foot is available to dock guest boat) is ready for you tie your boat up and clean your catch as you enjoy the view. Don't let your family vacation be anything less than exceptional. Allow us to give you the best experience of your life!

Wonderful Hosts and Property

We had a great time staying at the old sassa house. The property was well maintained and is in a very convenient location for boating out to the river. Our hosts were wonderful and responsive. Highly recommend!

Old sassa river house

Wounderful home, clean, host was very easy to contact. We had a great time and stay. I will reccomend for my friends and family, and any one else that stays in Crystal River or Homasassa.

Accommodations were great. Ice Machine in the boat house was a must for our scalloping trip. Dock is in great shape and held our 22 ft pontoon just fine.

Just what we needed

Property was very clean and check in was simple. The owners were very helpful and good communication. Peaceful neighborhood and great location. The only issue was that we had to go home. Would love to go back for another vacation!

What a great house in a great location! Easily fit my 24 ft boat on the dock, the house is new and in gret condition . the owners are friendly and informative! highly recomended. I will be back for sure.

Perfect in every way

Our stay could not have been any better. The home was clean and cozy. The owners were very responsive. Aside from the perfect location and super clean home the ice machine was the greatest thing! Not having to lug bags of ice made it so easy to just add ice to the cooler on the boat. Having a washer and dryer was another attribute. Fish cleaning station was nice also for the many fish caught and cleaned. Nothing negative pops into my mind except we had to go home and back to work 😂.

Great Place for Family Fun

We travel to this area 3-4 times a year and have stayed in many areas and many homes over the last 10 yrs. The house has a great layout and very clean. Beds are comfortable and plenty of parking. 3 kayaks and a lifejacket. We unfortunately didn't get to use them this trip due to the rain. You will need to bring blow dryer, kc cups for coffee, and soaps. We did purchase 2 fishing poles from the local walmart and left them for future renters. All in all would rent this unit again. Homosassa Stilt House

The house was nice but we had two major issues: We had our mail forwarded to the house address but the house had no mailbox so our mail was returned. We changed the forwarding to General Delivery but in the process we lost some packages and crucial mail. We should have been advised of this issue in advance. The street in front of our rental property has big potholes plus a big drainage problem and when it rains, a hugh puddle forms hiding the potholes. Car and tires picked up a lot of mud. Also to call it a "river house" is misleading because the house is on a canal with river access. The river photo is deceptive.

Peter & Jackie, we are sorry you feel that way about your stay with us. No we don't have a mailbox at the home because it is a rental house, if you guys would have asked me before your visit I could have let you know this but I did direct you to the local post office and whom to speak with about getting a PO Box once you checked in. Yes there is a pot hole in the road but like I told you when you checked in, the road is a private owned road and they are going to be putting a new sewer line down our road this year and once that is done the road will be repaired, we also have a neighbor building a house and the big trucks coming in and out hasn't helped. Yes our house is on a canal and you can see that in the picture of our boat dock as well as by looking at the map. Everyone there in Old Homosassa calls their homes a River House, which our home is 3 blocks from the river. After you guys booked you asked to extend your stay through the first few days of April so your family could come down, I could have charged you the price for April but I was generous and charged you the Winter rate, thought we were pretty fair to you guys.

Favorite scallop

We go scalloping every summer for a week and have done so for the last 12 or more years. We have always settled on Homosassa on all the communities that we have scalloped up. This particular house has been our favorite so far. We plan on renting here again in the future. The icemaker is absolutely fantastic to have. The ease of getting out to the main waterway was great. The boat launch was very convenient. The cookware was fantastic as I do a lot of cooking on our vacations. I was very appreciative of the great cookware

Quick Scalloping Getaway

Perfect for our group of 4 adults. Well equipped with all the necessities in the kitchen as well as the toys and the ice machine was a great plus. We have marked this spot for a return visit!

We have been coming to Homosassa for years and recently been given the opportunity to purchase a home there. We are about 45 minutes away from the river and couldn't ask for a better location to buy or spend good quality family time..
