Perfect for a small family or couple, the home offers serene lake views, stylish interiors, and a private jetty just steps away, ideal for exploring the village's famous canals by boat. The tastefully designed living space includes a smart TV, air conditioning, and a fully equipped open kitchen for cozy home-cooked meals. Unwind on the spacious terrace with a barbeque or soak up the sun on the deckchairs while enjoying picturesque surroundings. It also offers a washing machine, bicycle storage, and even party games for family fun. Start your morning with fresh pastries from Molen Bakery just 600 meters away, then explore the charming thatched-roof houses of Giethoorn by bike or boat. Don't miss the scenic Weerribben-Wieden National Park for canoeing, hiking, and birdwatching. Dining is a delight here, try Restaurant Fratelli for Italian cuisine or enjoy a waterfront meal at De Lindenhof, a Michelin-starred restaurant offering exquisite Dutch dishes. Boat rentals are available right on the park, making it easy to drift through the tranquil waterways at your leisure.

Note: There is a washing machine in our chalet. So we expect the tenants to wash the towels themselves when necessary. Detergent is then available.

Nice vacation home, poor communication

The good: The home is well maintained, fairly close to the tourist area in Giethoorn, and has all of the dishes, pans, etc. needed for preparing meals. We were able to spend a lot of time in Geithoorn. The boat tour is with the price. The bad: After multiple attempts to contact the property manager via phone and email, and Belvilla by text, we heard nothing about the check-in process. We drove out to the house and fortunately the gate to the park was open. We wandered around trying to find where to check-in. A man stopped us and asked what we needed. My wife, who speaks fluent Dutch, spoke with the man. He asked which unit we were staying in, and we told him we didn’t know. We showed him our reservation and the name and contact information we had. He called the contact person from his phone. Initially the person said there was no reservation for our checkin date, but when the man who was helping us provided all of the info from our reservation the person on the phone gave us the code to get the keys to the house, along with the house number. We never heard anything more from the property manager. We booked and this through VRBO from the U.S. Had we not spoken Dutch and been very familiar with the Netherlands this would have been a very stressful situation. For that reason I do not recommend that English speaking people book this location. We had a great time, but the lack of communication was a big negative. The property had a bike for our use; the key for it was not found.

Idyllisches Häuschen in Top-Lage! Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in diesem gut ausgestatteten Häuschen direkt am Wasser. Die Lage ist herrlich ruhig und trotzdem ist man zu Fuß ruckzuck bei den touristischen Highlights. Ein besonderes Plus: Man kann in der Nähe ein Boot mieten und direkt am Haus anlegen! Ein kleiner Hinweis für Geräuschempfindliche: Das Haus ist recht hellhörig, aber der Charme der Unterkunft macht das locker wieder wett.

tolle lage des hauses, nahe an giethoorn village, ausstattung könnte ein kleines bißchen aufgewertet werden, ABER das ist jammern auf hohem niveau. es ist wirklich schön gestaltet, um ein paar tage dort zu verweilen. die beiden schlafzimmer sind bisken klein, aber letztlich schläft man da auch nur drin. küche ausreichend (bis auf spülmaschine ;-) und ein paar haken zum jacken aufhängen wären noch eine top investition. würde das häuschen jederzeit wieder buchen. hat uns gefallen
