The unit was smaller than what we expected or with the pictures look like. Two of the bedrooms bedrooms don't have any room for suitcases. The beds were very comfortable but the furniture in the whole place is too large for the size of the unit. The view was incredible.

Perfect location!

We loved this spot. The view was incredible and we walked everywhere- from hikes to restaurants to George Street. We’ll be back!

A Great Place

The view of the harbour makes this place truly unique. Everything is very comfortable and the location is very convenient to downtown and the major sights. One drawback is that the parking is very tight, so if you are renting a car, the smaller the better.

Excellent spot to stay when visiting St John’s and the Avalon Peninsula

Cozy well equipped cottage with outstanding location overlooking the St John’s harbour. Very comfortable beds. Great base for walking tours of the town and Signal Hill Historic Park. Highly recommend

Perfect location

What an amazing find for our stay in St. John’s! The view was breathtaking, the beds were so comfortable, and we were close to everything we needed. Would definitely come back!

Outstanding Stay

The home was a wonderful location to head out on hikes and exploring the city. The beds were so cozy, everyone slept so well. I would highly recommend this location. Three generations had a wonderful family vacation.

Great views and location

Location was great. Walked to restaurants, historical sites and Hop On hop off bus. Perfect accommodation for two couples as bedrooms and bathrooms are on different floors. Loved watching the ships come and go in the harbour.

Lovely clean place with a fantastic view of the harbor. We thoroughly enjoyed watching all the activity in the port while having cocktails on the deck. Very comfy beds and well stocked place. Thank you!

Fantastic location!

Lovely place in a fantastic location! We were here for 4 days of solid fog and loved it regardless. The sound of the foghorn across the harbor was mystical, it was an easy walk to restaurants and bars on Water street, and we loved looking out over the harbor! Beds are very comfortable though oversized for the space.

Perfect cottage. Very clean, gorgeous view. Close to downtown St. John's easy walk. We loved our stay and the rooms were perfect. Only one complaint if you could call it that, the sun was so strong in the dining area and there were no window coverings, so it was extremely hot. Not a big deal. We will definately book again.

Morrison Family Vacation

The location is great. We all enjoyed watching the boats and harbour activity. The deck was lovely for drinks on the warm summer evenings we had while there. The walk into the downtown is enjoyable. Having our own parking spot was appreciated. The cottage is well equipped.

The battery is the place to stay, we love the action in the harbour and the view can’t be beat! Egg down is a lovely place to stay ,it has lots of room for four of us. We have stayed at Rochelle’s properties many times and have always found them comfortable with all the amenities we need however I feel as though it’s time to perhaps refresh Egg Down a little bit. It is still comfortable but getting a little tired. While there are two big beautiful decks there are hardly any chairs to enjoy them and no tables. Two very basic chairs per deck made it difficult to really sit out. The kitchen has lots of dishes and pots but only one small frying pan that we had to really search for and perhaps a few more cooking items would be helpful,maybe some oil and a few spices , the basics were lacking. Rochelle was very accommodating to me as I had to make a couple of changes in my booking dates and we have always loved staying in batter bluffs accommodations and will continue to recommend them ..my comments are small things that are easily rectified and wouldn’t sway me from staying there but I feel that I should be honest so that the hosts are aware of any issues. The parking can be tricky to manoeuvre into but there is parking so that’s a plus and it’s a small trade off for the view. The battery is the perfect place to stay in our opinion ,close to downtown and signal hill and restaurants. There is a great little cafe a block away.

Beautiful Battery Cottage

Egg Down Cottage was perfect for our family trip. With the bedrooms on two levels we had plenty of space for our luggage and the kitchen and dining area was well suited to our basic cooking needs. We loved watching the ships from the upper level deck and walking to many shops and restaurants. We would stay here again! Absolutely would recommend any of Rochelle's properties. Also, the neighbors next door are absolutely DELIGHTFUL and very kind.

Egg Down Cottage NFLD

We had an awesome time in St Johns' and the eastern area of Newfoundland Egg Down cottage was a GREAT location to watch the ships come and go in the St John's harbor, this made our morning coffee and evening cocktails very enjoyable. Egg Down Cottage was close to downtown and all the other locations that we wanted to see in the area. Also, the beds/mattresses, wow ...... we all had a Great sleep on them.

Excellent - couldn't be better.

Great cottage for multi-generational family. I travelled with my 90+ yr old Mother, who was able to access everything on one floor, while my sister and I slept downstairs. The Cottage was well detailed, providing things we forgot we needed. Pictures are exact wysiwyg and more. Beds, linens, towels, etc. all were excellent. Rochelle was incredible before we even booked, answering several questions and conserns we needed just right - and in the end everything was perfect, like staying at a friends. Location is amazing. Definitely, would recommend and hope to have an opportunity to visit again

The Battery

Wicked spot. I’m from Harbour Grace but living in Ontario. I brought 3 people from Ontario who have never been in Newfoundland before. They couldn’t believe it. I could stay in Harbour Grace whenever I want but I will be staying in the Battery every time I’m home now. Great place watching the crab boats and ships going in and out of the narrows all day and night. I could hardly sleep it was so great to watch. Great accommodations with a nice Deck and large windows to see the harbour every minute you are awake. Great neighbours. I will definitely be back. Thanks.

Review

The reservation online was difficult. It was my third, and last attempt, when it finally worked (I’m not new at this!) Everything else was great and we would recommend it. A few specifics: Sharp knives appreciated Nice soaps and towels We were there for thanksgiving and there was no roasting pan or meat thermometer - can’t fault you for that mind you, just an observation. Was great to see some things left in cupboards, like foil and plastic wrap, tea, etc Great facility!
