Come explore what Southern Illinois has to offer for your next family getaway! The "GATE HOUSE AT THE LAKE" has it all! 3 bedrooms with 1 king bed (master), 1 queen bed (2nd bedroom), 2 queen beds (brand new 3rd bedroom), 2 pull out queen sleepersofas (family room), 1.5 baths, Beautiful great room with screened in back porch, Dock with electricity, Beautiful Lake Views facing the main lake channel, Fire Pit, Wifi, Outdoor Grill, garage, Washer/Dryer, Flat Screen TV's/DVD player, Direct TV including the Sports Package, Fully stocked (just bring food and toiletries), all new furniture. The home is on one level with only one step to get into the home. The land is flat to the dock with no steps!!!!

The house has been freshly painted, brand new A/C, new kitchen cabinets and countertop, and new tile on the patio. New front exterior and new third bedroom are now complete in 2021!!!!!!!!!

There is dedicated internet for each of our guest homes!!!! 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up and also a second line that is shared between our 3 homes that is an additional 6 mbps down and 1 mbps up!!!

We also rent the house directly next door which has 3 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, and sleeps 8 also (vrbo 710693)!!! And we have another home just down the street with 4 bedrooms and 2 baths (vrbo 9134691ha)! Ask about renting multiple homes for a discount!!!! All of our homes are located at the mid point of the lake. See the attached photo showing the location of all our rental homes at the lake.

Boat rentals are available around the lake. Check out https://lakeofegyptpontoonrentals.com and tell them Roman sent you!!!

Macks Marina and Egyptian Hills Marina also have boat rentals and you can launch your boat from both of them and also Pyramid Acres for a small fee.

We do provide two kayaks and two paddleboards for each home. Please bring your own life vests as we do not provide those.

We do require a $100 Damage Deposit. This will be returned to you immediately upon our cleaning team reporting no damage, no excess cleaning, and no excess trash.

Overall great place. Just a note for the owners, it looks like rain water is flowing over and out of the gutters in the corner up by the house and keeping the deck wet there. Loved being so close to the lake and having use of the kayaks. Air worked great. We really enjoyed our weekend there.

Inadequate towels, garbage towels, tv inoperable; repairman never came and repaired the TV as we were told by owner. Very disappointing. Good location, plenty space.

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the location and the spaciousness of the property. We do want to address a few of your concerns. The TV has been checked and is functioning properly, and it appears the issue may have been related to operation rather than the equipment itself. We’re always happy to assist guests during their stay if any questions come up. All towels and linens were replaced at the start of this season. While they may not be luxury-brand, they are clean, well-maintained, and generally considered appropriate and comfortable for a lake property stay. We appreciate you sharing your experience and will continue working to provide a solid and enjoyable stay for our guests.

the house could use a very good DEEP cleaning. !!.Bacon grease in a coffee cup in the cabinet!!. Floors were not clean!!Screens on the patio need repair!!!. garbage can outside had not been emptied since the last guest, which left a terrible smell !! .No mechanical issues, everything operated as it should. .Loved the view from the porch ,and inside views looking out. Beds were comfortable. Had to hand wash silverware before using!! Did not have any Dish Towels!! Would come back if these issues are taken care of !!

We take cleanliness very seriously, and what you described does not reflect the standard we aim to provide. We will be addressing these issues directly with our cleaning team to ensure a more thorough deep clean moving forward, including kitchen items, floors, and outdoor areas. The patio screens and other maintenance items will also be reviewed promptly. Regarding the outdoor trash, it is serviced on a weekly schedule in line with local collection services, rather than after each guest. That said, we understand how this may have impacted your experience and will look at ways to better manage this between stays. For future visits, we always encourage guests to reach out during their stay if anything is not up to expectations. We do have on-site staff available who can quickly resolve most issues. Also, for reference, additional washcloths and similar items are stored in the drawers. We appreciate your honest feedback and would love the opportunity to provide you with a much-improved experience next time.

Good and quick communication, especially for a holiday weekend. Setting and location were lovely and I bet it’s really nice in the summer. House was big and spacious - perfect for a big group. Everything was clean, if a little basic. There were a couple areas that needed a little maintenance.

The house was nice and served our purpose. Everyone had a place to sleep and the living room is spacious. Kitchen is a bit small, but I was there to relax, not be a short order cook lol! The view is beautiful and the kids had fun paddling around on the provided kayaks and paddleboards.

THE HOST WAS ATTENTATIVE. THE HOUSE ON THE SUFACE APPEARED TO BE CLEAN UNTIL I GOT IN THE SHOWER. THE LINER AND CURTAIN HAD PINK SLIME AND STAINED WITH SOAP SCUM AND STUFF. I NOTIFIED THE HOST AND A NEW CURTAIN ARRIVED WITHIN HOURS. THE HEAT DID NOT WORK IN ONE BEDROOMS AND THE BABY MONITOR ALERT KEPT GOING OFF THE TEMP WAS 60 DEGREES. THE BASEBOARD HEATERS WERE A CONCERN WITH FURNITURE SETTING TOO CLOSE TO THEM. UPON CHECK OUT WHEN THE LINENS WERE TAKEN OFF THE BEDS THE PILLOWS WERE NASTY! STAINED AND VERY WORN. I SHOULD HAVE CHECKED THEM WHEN I DISCOVERED THE SHOWER SITUATION..... I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY FOR FUTURE RESERVATIONS AND I FEEL AN ADJUSTMENT FOR OUR STAY IN IS ORDER.

We do want to note that our team worked hard to accommodate your arrival not only early, but an entire day earlier than originally scheduled. Because of this, our cleaners were on a very tight turnaround to ensure the home was ready for your check-in as quickly as possible. When you notified us about the shower curtain, we responded immediately. A brand-new curtain and liner were installed within the hour through our on-site maintenance team, as guest comfort is always a priority. Regarding the heating concerns, after your departure we inspected the system and confirmed that all heat sources—including the secondary baseboard heaters—are functioning properly. We have not experienced any heating issues in the 10 years we have been successfully renting this home. We also take your comments about the pillows seriously. Had we been made aware of that concern during your stay, we would have gladly accommodated you right away, just as we did with the shower curtain. All pillows have since been replaced to ensure the highest standard for future guests. We strive to provide a clean, comfortable, and well-maintained experience, and we regret that aspects of your stay did not meet expectations. Thank you again for bringing these matters to our attention so we could address them promptly.

Nice place

This is a nice place to stay is a little worn. But overall clean, great view, plenty of room. Kayaks are shared with 3 other properties but is enough for everyone. We had a great experience.

Million dollar lake view, on active cove in July, nice neighbors. Their team is outstanding starting with Leon and receptionist-our small issues promptly fixed. Large older home with all you need.

The house was very dusty. Dishes needed to wash prior to using and the floors where really dirty.The 1/2 bathroom door needs to be fixed and the linen closet in the full bath you need to be 6 feet tall to open it from the very top.

Lovely Lake View and Access

This lakeside home was a nice get away. Star/Sky watching, gorgeous lake, Fern Clyffe State Park has trails, including wooded trail circling lake and walks to a natural waterfall. Enjoyed the quiet and wildlife.

This was a beautiful and very clean property. There were some very soft spots on the decking leading to the stairs on the patio. Wood was rotting and primary bathroom closet door was broken (track issue). Loved my stay at this beautiful and extremely clean place with the best views and access to the lake despite any of those issues, I would stay here again! Beds were very comfy and clean. Communication with property manager was awesome I grew up on this lake, there is not one bad thing about it other than I had to go back up north.
