Fresh interior update with space for the entire family or send them down to the pool or beach while you relax with a book and look out at the ocean.

Large private condominium apartment at the resort condominium complex on the beach in sunny Kihei, Maui, Hawaii. 3 bedrooms 3 bathroom. Master bedroom has its own private view deck. Bedrooms each have a queen bed, and a queen size sofa sleeper in the living room. Large living area, dining area, kitchen with breakfast bar. Extra-large private view deck looking out towards ocean. Beach chairs, pool/beach towels, full size appliances including air conditioning and washer dryer. Really, just hit the grocery store and you are set for the week!

General Info: The Maui Sunset is located on over 5 acres of oceanfront at Kihei which is considered one of the best locations on the Valley Isle. Kihei is noted for its year-round sunshine, balmy trade winds, and soothing evening air. It is one of the driest and sunniest areas on the entire island, averaging only 10 inches a year! World famous swimming and snorkeling beaches are minutes away at one of the many sandy safe beaches at Kihei and nearby Wailea. Just a short distance (6 miles) from five championship 18-hole resort golf courses at Wailea and Makena. The two buildings frame and protect a large recreational area that is carefully attended and landscaped. The 60-foot swimming pool with its broad decks and abundance of pool furniture invites you to improve on your tan. Except for the big storm, knocking out power to this part of Maui our last evening. Te facilities were better than described, as there were beach towels and chairs, and games and puzzles. We’d enter it again. Wish the mtg offfice had longer opening hours to facilitate registering our rental car.

Fantastic trip with friends

The unit was great, good location right on the beach with a park adjacent. We are all dog people and miss our pets when away, we were able to get our fix everyday with all the dogs that visit the park. Would visit again.

Amazing views, great beach!

We had a great week at sunset beach! The beach is wonderful and the grounds are lovely. The condo has one of the best views in the whole complex. We saw whales from the lanai and turtles on the beach, which were some of the highlights. Cons:

Nice Stay for large family

The property and grounds were great for our family. The condo was quite outdated but did the trick just fine. The view was fantastic. Dryer & AC were broken but fixed quickly and communication was good. Rooms were small to put kids with parents but we made it work. Location was great.

Aloha, Thank you for staying with us at the Maui Sunset. We do provide pictures of the kitchens and bathrooms as they are a bit dated. The size of the condo and the views are rare and provide the best value for families. Upgrades are done often, new couches this month! Hope you will stay with us again.

Good stay overall

Good experience overall. Pro: plenty of parking, quiet location, beds were comfy, it was nice having a kitchen to cook in, AC helped keep us cool at night, washing machine available in unit. Con: 4 hour timer on AC (had to get up in middle of night to turn on again), AC was loud in 2 of the rooms, some dishes weren’t clean when we arrived.

Room cleanliness was not great. The floors were so dirty. We had a 1 year old with out group who was covered in dirt after crawling on the floors for 10 minutes. His hands/legs and outfit were filthy! The 4th bed is a pull out sofa; we tried to make the bed the first evening and the mattress was covered in hair and sand. It was not usable. We had to call for a deep clean, and that mattress was not cleaned well. The kitchen was very difficult to cook in; no cutting boards and all kitchen supplies were very old, knives were dull etc. we did appreciate the coffee pot and coffee left in the kitchen. The elevator was scary: the floor was terrifying, felt like it was going to fall out of the bottom of the elevator. No cart/luggage cart available to bring luggage/groceries form the parking lot to the condo on the 4th floor. Now, the good. The view and location of this condo are spectacular! Very affordable. We loved watching the waves from the deck. The beach was a short walk from the condo and we enjoyed walking in the mornings/evenings. We also loved watching all the dogs that come to play in the park! The pool and hot tub were very nice, plenty of lounge chairs to go around. Only complaint there is that there is no restroom nearby, so you know people are peeing in the pool. The condo is very close to restaurants and grocery stores, and close driving distance to many other beaches. Bedrooms were very spacious, and the AC units worked very well.

Ours dropped lots of water on the deck floor. With a hope and prayer I will be back. Located close to shopping and restaurants.

The view from this condo can't be beat!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: If you've visited Maui before, you know how difficult it is to find a 3-bedroom condo with a great ocean view. This was perfect for us (3 couples). It was great that everyone had personal space and a bathroom. The condo is in good condition. Folks who mention that it could use some updating are not wrong, but I have really mixed feelings about that because updated condos tend to be more expensive and this is currently one of the best values on Maui for what you get. You're close to Safeway, conveniently located for snorkeling in both South and West Maui, and just a short drive from Costco and the airport. My one tip for visitors would be to check the closets in the bedrooms when you arrive. Useful things like brooms, fans, beach chairs, etc. are divided between the three bedrooms.

This condo was very well appointed. There wasn’t anything we needed that wasn’t already there. The condo was clean, the beds comfortable and the washer and dryer were large sized! There were plenty of beach necessities included (chairs, umbrella, boogie boards, cooler, etc......). The only thing I might suggest is the pullout beds in the rooms are more appropriate for younger people (12 and under)! The grounds of the Maui Sunset are very well kept. All the resort amenities were clean and organized! We would absolutely stay here again!

Lovely stay

We enjoyed the proximity to the beach, the view was phenomenal, the pool and hot tub were a wonderful amenity, and everything provided in the condo was accurate to the description provided. The location was close to so much in Kihei — go try the cinnamon roll place down the street *chef’s kiss* One suggestion someone in our group made was for them to get high top bar tables for the balcony so you can catch the view without the balcony guard rail in the way. They provide a starter kit of toiletries and “paper products” which was unclear if that meant we got one roll of toilet paper for a week and then needed to provide for ourselves. We did buy some just in case which we didn’t need and left there so I would suggest to anyone to wait to buy that type of thing until you absolutely need it. Walmart and Safeway aren’t far. There was a nice community of people we met at the pool/hot tub that are there yearly. Great way to get suggestions on stuff to do.

Tired property

The grounds, view and location are great. The photos provided make the interior look better than it is. The carpet and sofa are stained in places, there are areas with peeling wallpaper, there is evidence of water damageon some walls near ceiling. The mirror in the dining room is broken near the floor and held together with black tape. The condo was not clean upon arrival. The floors were not vacuumed or mopped. Counters didnt look particularly clean. We had to request another cleaning. They cleaned the next day and did a very good job but we shouldn't have had to ask. One balcony was totally blocked off with plastic because they were doing exterior work rendering it useless. The view from the main balcony was amazing.

Unforgettable Oceanfront Views

Family of 8 enjoyed the location and the unforgettable ocean views from corner unit: the lanai offered beautiful ocean views. The property’s general condition (3+): the unit can apply simple fixes to freshen the dated and worn condition of the furniture via slipcovers on the living room furniture and even pillows. The 2 loveseats in bedrooms need to be replaced as they had a musty odor. The kitchen supplies were adequate, however, should replace the plastic cutting board due to health hazards. Property’s location (5)..was superior due to proximity to shopping and restaurants in Kihei. The park was a major asset along with lovely beachfront access, pool, tennis courts, BBQ drill area and pickleball courts. The property was clean (4) upon arrival. There was an issue with the refrigerator which was addressed quickly with little inconvenience to our family. The property management company was very professional (5). Check in/check out instructions were clear, maintenance issues were addressed in a timely and professional manner, guests were greeted with a warm smile which was appreciated. Yes...we would recommend this property to a friend but strongly recommend furniture upgrades. Our family enjoyed the unit and the memories will be cherished for a lifetime. Thank you!

All said, relaxing, inspiring and would visit again.

The location of the unit was incredible, the views, layout, lanai all what we were hoping for and we truly enjoyed our week's stay. Thank you for having beach chairs and an umbrella. I will say the grounds were well maintained and the landscape and pool teams were friendly and on top of everything. Our opportunity has to do with guest reception and a person representing (you) who has very little "customer service" in her bones- truly very abrasive and uncaring. The other opportunity was basic cleanliness. Dust on the wall art, under the beds (like a throw blanket), the drawers, ceiling fans, every corner and baseboard, glass cabinets (not sure the contents have ever been washed). would have appreciated a Swiffer or something similar as well as Ajax and a sponge. Notes moving forward, the coffee pot is not a match for the coffee maker and to "work" the coffee maker, you needed to put one of the trivets under the pot during the brew process. Also, the ironing board is MIA. We feel the renovation you are completing (flooring) enhances the property and adding a Swiffer or similar would assist with sand and basic cleanup. You do have a terrific setup and again, the views were both relaxing and inspiring. Your 3-bedroom/3-bath unit was perfect, spacious and quiet. Our comments regarding the cleanliness is something the cleaning team should be aware of. Others that gathered this week at the Maui Sunset pretty much felt the same.

This is a lovely condo and we love Maui Sunset. The twin beds in the bedrooms were subpar and if adults were expected to sleep on them it would be uncomfy. It worked fine, but wasnt great. I would suggest some black out curtains for the bedrooms esp the ones on the hallway.

Great Kihei Location!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The condo's here are very nice, maybe a little dated, but the location is perfect, the property has lots of nice amenities, the pool is awesome.
