Great for 2 Families

We had a wonderful time during our stay. The Sandbanks was very close and so were all amenities. The owners communicated with us accurately and friendly. We would recommend this to all families with children.

Beautiful property near Sandbanks

We had a wonderful week at this property, which is secluded on a small street, close to the Sandbanks provincial park. Were very grateful for the park permits included, which helped us avoid the lines up. The local wine left for us was a nice touch. Overall, our group enjoyed our stay.

Scenic, quiet and comfortable space for friends and family get away.

We were so happy to stay at Warren’s place for a girls weekend / winery trip. We were very well hosted, knew what to expect and loved the spacious home for our comfort. The back yard and patio space wEre a highlight, and the fire pit with hot tub was a hit with our guests. Thank you for the comfortable stay. We will stay again.

Spacious accommodations for our group of 12. Recent renovations are very nice. Well equipped kitchen. Owner quick to respond to questions. Located close to wineries, breweries and shopping. A great rental house for large group!

Nice property

This was an great location and huge house. The owner was great to communicate with and brought us extra linens right away/garbage bags when we couldn’t find any. The house could use some updating and a bit better of a clean. Overall we had a great stay and it was a good size for 13 people.

Girls weekend away

The property was beautiful. The rooms were as shown. We loved the hot tub. We couldn't connect to the wifi but that was ok (country living)! The kitchen was well supplied. We would definitely recommend this property.

Spacious and a beautiful place to stay.

We all loved the space in this place. Fully furnished and well managed. Owner was respectful, responsible and responsive to the needs. Unfortunately we were not able to use the lake as this place was not waterfront and couldn’t use the passes for the beach as it was very windy and cold however we really enjoyed the hot tubs. Overall a beautiful experience.

Our stay at Summer Laughlin Cottage

This was a very good stay, we were close to the venue where our daughter was getting married. We had a varied assortment of guests including family and friends. We enjoyed the hottub and various local "critters" including squirrels, chipmunks and birds. Two fridges were very handy to hold all our food and bevvies. Lots of beds for everyone. Thanks for the Review, The wood beside the spa is for burning some of the wood might have some nails so use caution, the front yard is now completed it is hard to book landscapers during a guest stay so it was completed after you left, the view from the front of the house is of West Lake.

Beautiful place (in need of a little more love)

Great location. Parc passes and free access to kayaks were a huge plus. Property not always equipped for larger groups (chairs, kitchenware). Would need better upkeep and updating (make sure appliances are running smoothly). Internet connection did not work

Enjoyed the County

It was just what we needed. We have travelled with the group before but not since before the Pandemic and some can no longer travel out of Country. The facility was roomy and well stocked; We enjoyed the outside as much as the inside. My Husband I lived in The County for 9 years and if was good to explore our old haunts. One suggestion would be safety maps for the tubs/shower, and at least one bathroom with a safety grab bar. Thanks to the hosts for a lovely stay. JW

Overall stay was enjoyable spacious and comfortable.

We recommend the washrooms to be upgraded adding a shower stall to the washroom attached to the Master bedroom. Directions to Garbage disposal was mislead and we were unable to dspose the Garbage, which made us to go to sandbanks provincial Park at a additional cost to us. There were no complimentary bottles of wine as mentioned in one of your information sheets.

House was generally as shown in pictures but in a fairly run down state. The AC did not work and it was close to 30 Celsius during our stay. Owner was fairly responsive and seemed like a nice guy but promised to send someone in to fix the AC but it never happened.

Thank you for your review. We had installed a brand new NEST thermostat this season for the comfort of our guests and the first use of this system needed to get the bugs out. The air conditioning was fixed and ran better than expected all summer. This was a 4 day rental during a weekend and the technician was at the property the next business day faster than we expected.

Know before you Go

Overall our stay at this Sandbanks property was enjoyable. We had a large group of ladies stay here to enjoy wine country for 3 nights. The location, included Sandbanks car passes, and hot tub were huge bonuses. On the other hand we found the cleanliness of the property did not meet our expectations. As well, the property lacked some common amenities we have seen in other vacation rentals - such as no hand soap provided in the bathrooms, no paper towel, and limited cookware and linens. I would recommend this spot to large groups looking to take advantage of a great location and spacious accommodations but would caution renters that this property may not suit families or those wishing to cook much at home.

Wonderful Way to Relax

Our family and friends will remember the two weeks we spent here for a long time and we hope to make it a regular part of our summers. The house was a beautiful country home. Everything was super comfy (the living room furniture sucked you in and you didn't want to get up). Building a fire inside in the beautiful stone fireplace while watching the sun set through the view in the living room windows was the perfect way to end out the day. My children loved the hot tub and running around the yard playing hide and seek. The beach passes and discounts for boat and water sport rentals allowed us to really enjoy our time out on the water. The hosts are super busy people but they always responded to all our questions as soon as possible and addressed any issues. Our only sour moment of the trip was finding out that there were no other weeks available this summer for us to rent!!

Need Improvement

it was nice and quite location close to Lake. So breeze is nice. Everything was fairly considerable except the fact that. Poor management of garbage. Owner left map wch has poor explanation and not from Google map. Has some street name 5 km away from location.wch I was not familiar as visitor. I went as describe in map that is close to their water sports facility. Man was after us assuming we are coming from different planet to throw garbage. Tried to call both numbers of owner. Of course, no answer. After text I received msg saying that, there are no complain in 10 years. So, behaving like I am fool but luckily me and all my friends own place in Toronto so, we know how garbage system works. Except the fact they need to improve map for garbage and little facilities to improve and need cleanliness, we can consider to spend time but not enjoy vacation completly.

Enjoy the Sandbanks - Convenient Location

For large groups looking for a conveniently-located rental near the Sandbanks take a look at this option. Within less than 10 minutes you can be on one of several popular beach locations, plus you get two vehicle passes. You can drop off and pick up easily if anyone wants to stay behind at the house. Easily accommodates 4 vehicles on property if you need. You know how they say you get what you pay for? Considering the daily/weekly rental price, it's good value. The house itself, the amenities, as well as furnishings are a bit dated, and while one would love to see a newly modernized kitchen, and new beds, it would drive up the cost of the rental. I looked at similarly sized places with a lakefront dock and modern amenities and they were 50-100% higher in cost. Owners were very responsive when we reported an appliance failure (they replaced it as soon as they could). Our rental also came with 4 hour use of a pontoon boat, as well as unlimited rental of kayaks at nearby West Lake Watersports. This was great value. Property is very secluded so no worries about nearby parties nor congestion: yet, it's a 5' drive to the beaches, located very close to Wellington & Picton. If you're looking for modern, fully refurbished interiors with new kitchen and fancy bathrooms this is not the place for you. If you need to have a large family gathering and no one is picky about where they sleep, this is perfect for you! Most importantly, our family reunion was a success due to this rental!

Lots of space for everyone - but one tripping hazard

We rented this house for a family reunion. 4 siblings in our 60's, plus spouses, plus some adult "children" plus one newborn. There was lots of room for sleeping. There are essentially two master bedrooms (the original and an addition at the back) plus three other bedrooms. The sofa beds were not very comfortable (we had more that 10 staying) - people just slept on the sofas themselves or on the sofas in the living room. So - lots of room. And the living room handled everyone for trivia night. The kitchen doesn't look that big, but 3 or 4 were regularly in it without too much problem. The outdoor space was big enough for everyone as well. Lots of chairs, lots of shade. The hot tub was a nice bonus. But the one big issue we had with the property was on the patio. It was on a slight step down (one brick height) and it is very hard to see the change in elevation. Most of us tripped on it - the mother of the newborn actually fell. Fortunately she wasn't holding be baby. After that we put up a wall of beer cans to warn people and I recommend others do the same The cleanliness was good, not great. It really felt like it needed a deep clean. We had three issues - a leaking faucet, a very slow coffee maker and a dryer that didn't dry. Warren was very quick to respond (he replaced the faucet and coffee maker - but the dryer had to wait until after we left). The location is great - very close to Sandbanks. And the park passes and the pontoon boat rental were great.
