Private, heated Pool--just opened as of April 23rd 2025! Open until mid October- and year round hot tub, about a mile to downtown Saugatuck. Exciting changes coming in 2023: facelift to interior with new paint, carpeting, and sleeping accommodations for up to 10!

We have a relaxed Cancellation Policy to ease the mindset of booking. We have always had a high standard for cleaning and sanitation. We are following CDC guidelines to ensure guest safety.

It's not everyday you find a sanctuary with its own crest but when you do, it's a clear indication that everything about this contemporary lodge is meant to create a fun and relaxing environment. Lake Trail Lodge (LTL) is the ultimate summer getaway. The only thing missing is great memories waiting to be made.

Lake Trail Lodge

Tucked in its own enclave of lofty greenery, the dark shake siding exterior is accented with bright coral shutters. Inside, the lodge theme takes off when you first note the vaulted living room and towering stone fireplace. Playful accents depicting homage to woodland creatures contribute to the theme of lightheartedness and welcome.

The kitchen is outfitted with lemon-yellow Viking appliances (and a retro Big Chill fridge), offering enough room for meal preparation, and pocket doors to close off the "mess hall". In the open dining room, the extra long table offers plenty of seating and views of the fire pit and pool, which "wets" the appetite-- not for food, but a dip!

Backyard Oasis

The professionally landscaped, arboretum-like setting will draw and keep you outdoors. Numerous places to lounge throughout the backyard make it easy to find a quiet spot by yourself or to gather with friends & family for bbq, games, and drinks. Enjoy a cool breeze on the screened-in porch, and find yourself around the fire pit in the evening. Be sure to experience the outdoor shower.. and did we mention the pool?!

You can walk down the path off the property to take you to Silver Lake for great views of the Kalamazoo river byways, and enjoy private beach access. Outdoor amenities include: a private basketball hoop with 3/4 court for games of HORSE or 3 on 3, bags game, and 4 adult bicycles for local exploring.

Sleeping

The main floor primary bedroom has a King bed and en-suite bathroom with stand in shower (on demand water heater affords everyone long showers). A Queen pullout Mitchell Gold sofa allows for 2 additional guests in the primary. The screened-in porch also is accessible from the master.
Another first floor bedroom features a number of sleeping options-- a queen bed, plus a Queen-over- Queen bunk bed.
The romantic second floor bedroom boasts a private deck with cafe seating for morning coffee and bird watching, plus an en-suite bathroom, and queen bed. Each bedroom has a flat screen smart TVs.

Another Amazing Stay

We highly recommend staying at Lake Trail Lodge. This is our second year coming in late July. The house is beautiful and has everything we need. The pool and hot tub are a huge plus and the location is perfect. We will book again!

Summer Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The location is barely outside of town in a lush wooded paradise. The kitchen is stocked nicely with quality cookware and amenities. This property has a lot to offer. The bikes were nice to have also. Property team is great to work with and was quick to respond to questions.

Best house ever!!

We had such a great time staying in this home. It was super clean and the space fit our group perfectly. We all enjoyed the pool especially the grandkids. We spent so much time at the house because of the pool. There is also alot to do in the area for kids and adults. This house was very well supplied with the essentials and some extra things. Really hope to be able to stay here again. We all felt it was the best house we have rented so far.

Saugatuck Family vacation

Loved this property. The backyard is a perfect retreat. The pool, the porch, the hot tub, just the right amount of sun and shade made our vacation delightful. Holland is only 15 minutes away and has a much better grocery store and a lot more shops. But Saugatuck is nice for a stroll, shopping and dinner. I would have given this house a 5 if it werenā€™t for the trouble checking out due to the street closure. But Chad was communicative and did his best even offering to help carry stuff to our cars.

Beautiful home

Our family had a wonderful time staying here. The pool, hot tub, yard, fire pit, screened in porch and all of the amenities were perfect! The kitchen was well stocked. The town of Saugatuck was very close by and the restaurants were great also. We went to Oval beach and Holland beach they were very close to the house. Holland beach was a little challenging to carry all of our stuff to the beach with 5 kiddos, but still very nice! Our only disappointment was trying to find a place to fish, without doing a charter trip. Too many get motion sick. Silver lake close to the property was not easy to get to, and no where to sit on the beach there. Actually there was not a beach area. It all looked like private property. Next time we will have to research where to fish and where to take the kiddos fishing. The pool at the house was wonderful and the kids forgot about fishing as they all had fun swimming. We had a wonderful time staying here. Our stay was perfect. Thanks for opening up your home to our family.

Absolutely amazing get away!

We definitely recommend staying at Lake Trail Lodge. I was looking for a rental house relatively nearby, for 2 weeks in July, since we had to cancel a few vacations this year. I was so happy to have found Lake Trail Lodge. Even prior to our stay, Brian reached out with information and answered any questions we had. He even recommended places in town for cakes as we were staying over my daughters 11th birthday. Upon arrival everything was even better than we had expected! The house was so warm and inviting, meticulously cleaned and perfectly decorated. They have thought of everything you need and made it readily available. We spent all of our days outside by the beautiful pool, lounging and enjoying the wonderfully landscaped surroundings. In the evening we would make sā€™mores by the fire pit and play games in the screened in porch. There is nothing you could ask for that they have not already thought of and provided at this property. Chadd, who is the onsite manager, was extremely helpful with everything from procuring fire wood, to restaurant recommendations, to recommending fishing spots. Everything was perfect, and this was one of the best properties all around that we ever rented. My daughter still talks daily about how much she misses this house - we will definitely be coming back!

We wanted a house w/ a pool in the Douglas / Saugatuck area for our family of 5. A WONDERFUL house and property with everything a family needs for an amazing vacation. Check in and out was so very easy and everyone was so great to work with for any of our questions or needs. This was our 2nd time renting this house and safe to say we will be back again next year! Beautiful house with amazing pool and outdoor space

We stayed at this house with our three small children. The house is beautiful, well laid out and very comfortable. The pool and outdoor space are even more amazing with beautiful landscaping and total privacy. We used the screened in porch for all of our meals. They offer a lot of special touches that add to the experience (warm blankets, smores, pool floaties, etc). We had a question as soon as we arrived and our main contact was at the house within a few minutes to help us. He was responsive and helpful our entire stay. We had so much fun at this house and would love to come back again!

Perfect Getaway!

This home is wonderful! The outdoor pool is large, clean and has the perfect amount of sun through the day. The hot tub is in a lovely spot in the yard. The extra details like pool floats/toys, football, bags, basketball, fire pit (with sā€™mores fixings waiting for us!), bikes, croquet, large pool towels, and the hammock made our whole family never want to leave. The indoor amenities are just as wonderful. It was impeccably clean when we arrived. The beds are comfortable, kitchen very well appointed, extra blankets/towels, great laundry area, cleaning products, and small touches like a guidebook to the home, area, restaurants, etc. which really show pride in ownership. Weā€™ll definitely be back!

From the relaxing music we walked into, the surprise sā€™mores package on the table, the relaxing secluded backyard with pool and hot tub that are the perfect size and temp, to all the little extra amenities that made our vacation absolutely perfect! The owners and property manager are super nice and responsive also. We will definitely be planning another vacation here!

Inviting home

This home is beautifully designed. The couch was so comfy, the fireplace was lovely and overall just a perfect home. We had thanksgiving here and all the kitchen essentials we needed were there. One small note, the oven is not standard size, so if you are cooking a big meal be prepared. Really enjoyed our time in this stunning home. No details were overlooked!

Wonderful, memory-filled vacation

Thanks to this amazing home, my family had an amazing week together. Perfectly appointed down to every detail. We used the pool daily, and we cooked out most nights too given how well-stocked the kitchen is. All aspects of the experience were amazing. Wonderful quiet weekend away.

This lovely and well appointed lodge is the perfect space to rest and recharge. Everything is very well appointed, and the neighborhood is the perfect combination of near to town, but secluded and peaceful. Everyone loved our time away, especially the fireplace and the lovely hot tub.

Fabulous retreat

We had an excellent stay with our family! It was perfect in every way. The home/property were beautiful and very well maintained. The treats for the outdoor fire pit were a lovely touch. Winter Wonderland

My family spent 5 memorable nights at this beautiful home during the New Year's holiday. It is perfect for a cozy family gathering with the gorgeous stone fireplace and hot tub. As other reviews have mentioned, the owners have thought of everything to make your stay enjoyable. It is warm, comfortable and inviting. We cooked many meals in the well-equipped kitchen. The beds are incredibly comfortable. The house is tucked back in the woods and offers privacy and lovely surroundings. We look forward to returning for a summer stay when we can also enjoy the pool. We highly recommend Lake Trail Lodge!

Lake Trail Lodge

My husband and I enjoyed this beautiful home in the most picturesque, scenic view of everything Fall. Though we werenā€™t able to spend time in their beautiful yard due to rain, this was this perfect place for relaxation. The property was well maintained and we canā€™t wait to go back! Gina

Want some beach time and donā€™t feel like driving to Oval Beach? Our shared path to Silver Lake Beach is a fun alternative for the day- and only steps from the house

Design. Comfort. Service. One of our owners holds a degree from Parson's School of Design NYC. He uses that to infuse an aesthetically pleasing environment. The other mandates that all furniture has a good "sit" and beds deliver a comfy sleep. Linens are fresh and crisp. And both leverage an incredible team to ensure quality and cleanliness before, during, and after your stay.
