This is undeniably the only vacation rental of its kind on the Upper Rogue River, a true gem! Situated on 1.5 acres with beautiful Rogue River frontage, this gorgeous home was recently remodeled with the vacationer in mind. 5 bedrooms, 3 full baths and 2,740 square feet, there’s ample room for all your family and friends to enjoy! The main level offers an open layout, custom kitchen with large island and two sinks, abundant windows, natural light and beautiful river views. This level has a full master suite plus 2nd bedroom and 2nd full bath. A huge deck spans the whole length of the home; it’s the perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine, BBQ, or simply enjoy the river as it meanders by. Downstairs is designed for another layer of entertainment and to enhance the usability of the home: a kitchenette/wet bar to use as desired, 2nd living room, game room, 3 additional bedrooms, full bath and laundry. Of course the home is also equipped with high speed internet, WiFi and multiple smart TV's. The home easily sleeps 10 and the versatile floor plan is perfect for small gatherings, large groups or multiple families. Once outside you won’t want to leave. The huge yard is perfect for games and the splendor of the river makes an unbeatable backdrop for this outdoor oasis. This house was a great place to stay for a long weekend trip to Crater Lake! The house is more spacious than the photos appear and the view of the river from the back porch is a huge plus. Kitchen has everything you need to feed a large group. Would highly recommend staying here!

Overall, the kitchen area and great room were nicely sized. There were ample chairs for dining. A couple of lamps in living room area would have made reading easier. The AC worked well, as did all appliances. There was adequate pots, pans, plates, dishes, cups, drinking glasses and dinnerware, but there were no small bowls and the wine glasses were a mixed bunch of different shapes and sizes. A knife sharpener would have been helpful. There was adequate paper products and bath towels for our group of ten. The deck is very nice, roofed, with afternoon shade. The two deck tables with chairs were perfect. The bedrooms are small … as are the bathrooms. Several of the beds were uncomfortable. There was not a bunk bed as promoted, instead there was a trundle bed, making it difficult to use the upper bed. Parking is good. With the remains of two tree stumps at the entry it is not very attractive … and would look so much better if removed replanted. We enjoyed the view from the deck, and the wildlife that visited; does with fawns, turkey hens with chicks and Canadian geese. The neighborhood is quiet, but there is a little traffic noise on the road above the house,

Thank you for staying Gale and for your feedback, but please keep in mind this is a vacation home and setup to function as such. We do our best to balance comfort, safety and cleanliness, that means we go without some things: lamps in the living room get broken, and there is ample lighting throughout the home (it may surprise you to learn how destructive some guests can be), plantings for curb appeal out front would be great, but they would need to be watered regularly which isn't practical or possible. We've found beds are personal preference and it's difficult to please everyone, but there is a nice mix of softer to firmer. And please note that the bunk vs trundle issue is a VRBO problem. Their property data input form does not provide an option for a trundle, only a bunk, queen, king, etc. Because a trundle is two twins, it most closely matches a bunk and at least informs guests that two twins are available. If VRBO would update their input form we would happily update the listing. Hopefully this provides a little insight to why the home is setup the way it is. We've stayed at dozens of vacation rentals in our travels and we're confident our home is extremely well stocked and equipped compared to the vast majority of other vacation rentals. Peaceful and beautiful

What a great house! We are a family of 10 visiting the area for the first time. The house is spacious, the beds are comfortable. We booked all meals and the kitchen was great. The views are beautiful and the deck overlooking the river were perfect. Deer and geese roaming the yard. Kids enjoyed playing in the river, we also played a lot of corn hole. Great stay.

Great spot for reunion with friends

8 friends who have been together for 45 years met here. It was a perfectly lovely house. Great accommodations. Very clean. Very convenient.

Absolutely beautiful property and location. House is incredibly well stocked with plates, glasses, silverware etc. Drawers are labeled so putting stuff away properly is easy. There are a number of activities to do, including fishing on the river, foosball tables, ping pong and even a spike ball set. All our grandchildren, ages 7 to 15 had a ball. In fact, all three generations of our family loved this rental!!!

Wildlife Treasure

Our family spent a week in this beautiful property. It was well stocked and very spacious. The view was magnificent and the Rogue River was very soothing. We were greeted everyday by deer and geese. Relaxing on the large deck with a view of the river was the highlight of our stay. We would definitely like to return.

Family time!

We had 3 generations joining up for a week on the river. The house accommodated all of our needs very well. When the older folks were ready for bed upstairs, the kids went downstairs and played games and watched movies. We used the BBQ and ate out on the deck, played Mexican Train dominoes at the dining room table and simply enjoyed our time together! The house is great!

Beautiful views of the river!

We had an easy check in and nice stay! It was so peaceful sitting on the deck watching the river, geese, turkey and deer. And the kitchen has every dish and utensil you could need! We really appreciate that! It does have plenty of space to socialize! The water pressure is very low (and it seemed to have air in the lines). Main downside was the neighbors smoke all the time (they even have their own plants) and the landmines the geese leave in the yard that aren't cleaned up at all. Makes it hard to walk to the river. Beautiful stay overall!

Wonderful Riverside Retreat

My wife and I along with two other couples go away for my birthday every year. I get the place and they do the cooking. The house was wonderful. The view from the upstairs living room/kitchen area is amazing. We never turned on the television set. Just sat on the couch and looked out at the river. Deer, turkeys, and geese every day. It felt like we were alone, but we were very close to good restaurants, wineries, and a lot of attractions. Good fishing nearby and Crater Lake is only a little over an hour away. Our only issue was getting in when we first got there. Had a bit of trouble with the keypad, but finally figured out how to get in. Great beds and good communication. Thanks for a great stay.

Wonderful location for a family reunion

We recently stayed at Shady Cove and really loved our experience. The location is breathtakingly beautiful and waking up to the beautiful river and lush green views was stunning. The house was very well stocked and everything in the kitchen was labeled which was also great. Plenty of towels if you know they're in the hall closet! My only negative is that for the price point, I would expect more comfortable beds and hotel-style linens. But this was definitely not a deal breaker. We loved the ample seating on the deck and enjoyed all of our meals out there. Every night there would be deer in our front yard and our kids loved chasing the geese and wading in the river. From here we visited family in Medford, did a boat tour in Grants Pass and visited Crater Lake. Perfect location and can't wait to come back!

Perfect homebase

We thoroughly enjoyed this home, especially the beautiful view of the river. The great room has a wall of windows, the back deck is roomy, and the kitchen is nicely updated and has tons of counter space including a large island. Perfect for a family gathering. Clean, comfortable, plenty of room. Only two things to mention that weren’t perfect: The water pressure was very low. Don’t know if that is typical or not. Also, 2 downstairs bedrooms are connected with a pocket door, and one bedroom does not have a window. Both rooms have individual hallway egress. For sleeping, they are fine, just small and basic.

I did not want to leave!

This house and it’s views are 100% on point. It’s spacious. The location is great. The kitchen is open and makes it so easy and amazing to host breakfast and dinner for our crew. The patio is perfect to sit and watch the river go by and enjoy a few drinks. I have zero complaints. *Not to future renters. If your traveling with a car trailer the steep driveway will not allow for the trailer to be parked at the property!!! Luke thank you for being so great to work with! I hope to be able to stay next year on one of our three trips we make each year with our race crew and foundation!!! #TeamNoOneFightsAlone #MyMalereeMaeFoundation

Hi Timothy, Thank you for staying, we're glad you enjoyed the home and property! While no RV or tent camping/staying is allowed, there usually aren't any access issues for boats, trailers, etc. The key is to approach the driveway from the west/southwest coming up Rogue River Dr. You can then enter easily, circle around the house and back up in front of the detached garage. If you stay again next year hopefully this will make for easier access with your trailer. Thanks again!

Going Rogue!

We loved staying along the Rogue river. You can see the river from the upstairs kitchen and living room. The kitchen had all the basics. We bought food at Costco and Fred Meyer before arriving. Alcoholic beverages at a liquor store. The deck was a lovely place to hang out and eat dinner. We also played cards at the dining room table. The long grassy yard to the river was visited frequently by deer. We did two river trips. The first one above the house and the second one we floated passed the house. Eagle Point was nearby for 4th of July parade and activities & indoor pickleball. We also played pickleball in Ashland in a park along the creek. Thank you so much for sharing your home. Our whole group are hoping to come back and enjoy the area again soon.
