The perfect mountain getaway that can comfortably accommodate up to 8 people! Located atop White Oak Mountain with views of the valley below and the Tryon International Equestrian Center off in the distance, along with many other attractions and things to do!
When you want to feel like you are disconnecting (to some degree) from the world...you will find the perfect balance here! The home has an elegant, spacious, yet mountain feel. With an open floor plan, deck and covered porch, it's a great place to entertain! Upstairs you will find vaulted ceilings, a great room with soaring windows on 2 walls and a centered fireplace creating warmth and ambiance. A large deck allows for an outdoor space with wonderful views. Two master bedrooms with en-suites are located on this floor along with another 1/2 bath. The large dining table will accommodate everyone. A well-stocked kitchen with gas stove has everything you would need to cook a special dinner. Down a spiral staircase you will find another sitting area, computer nook, and 2 more bedrooms with a shared bathroom. Hardwood floors throughout the home .

While, you will feel remote and 'away from it all', in actuality the home is located only 5 miles from the interstate! A strong wireless signal will give you access to the Internet and the opportunity to stream Hulu, Netflix, Amazon, etc. or watch TV via an antenna and get basic stations (no cable).

This home has many unique qualities to it but a couple that we love are that fact that it uses a cistern for it's water supply. And the roads leading up to the top of White Oak Mountain are all paved and easily drive-able. (And you pass a gorgeous waterfall along the way!)

The home is professionally cleaned. Linens, towels and the essentials to get you started (toilet paper, paper towels, soap & shampoo) are all provided for you!

NOTE: This is a quiet community and we ask that you respect the neighbors and keep noise and outdoor lights to a minimum after 10:00pm.

BEAUTIFUL home on the mountain top!

This home was perfect for our family getaway! It was immaculately clean, well stocked and very comfortable. We could tell they have put a lot of thought into making their guests feel welcome and added so many helpful extras. We will be returning to this home!

Great views and wonderful owner

We really enjoyed our stay. Laura, the owner, was very helpful and graciously shared information before our stay, then checked in with us during our trip to make sure we had all we needed. The listing is a great representation of the property - it comes with everything you could need. There’s also a great space owned by the HOA within walking distance with panoramic views and a field for kids to run around that really enhanced the overall quality of this property. Would stay here again.

Belated Christmas in North Carolina and the Biltmore

The luxury rustic cabin was perfect for our family getting together for a belated Christmas. Kitchen and Deck area great for preparing meals, open concept great for hanging out and enjoying time together. Beautiful view and home. Thank you for your hospitality.

A wonderful mountain getaway!

We stayed at Flyin' High in July 2024 and it was the exact mountain top retreat my family and I were looking for. The house has an amazing balcony with great views and comfortable interiors for large family dinners. There are several great sunset spots and the house is an easy drive to many lovely hiking spots, tubing, kayaking, and other fun summer activities. Laura was a wonderful host - kind and extremely helpful!

Talk about a view!

What a wonderful and wonderfully memorable holiday weekend trip! Cannot beat the views. We also appreciated the double master bedroom setup on the main floor and the additional den area as well as the jack and jill bathroom setup between the two bedrooms downstairs. While you may not think the views cannot get any better than from the deck, take the quarter mile walk further up the mountain to the community park area for so many breathtaking views.

Beautiful views and home

Very beautiful property and views. House has all the amenities needed and all of the rooms were very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Advise getting to the house for the first time in daylight so that you can navigate and learn the mountain roads. The little park up the street that is offered to the association members was so peaceful. We enjoyed exploring and swinging over looking the valley below. What a treasure.

Beautiful cabin perfect for relaxing and enjoying company!

We traveled to the area with our Equestrian show team to complete at near by FENCE. The location was perfect and the drive up to the mountain was gorgeous. With 5 adults and 4 kids the space was perfect, everyone had privacy yet ample common space to enjoy each other's company. The cabin is well stocked with kitchen supplies, books and games. The deck is the perfect place to gather or just sit back and listen to nature. Beautifully decorated and clean. Melissa has been attentive and quick to respond. We will definitely return for our future trips to the area.

Perfect escape!

This home is even more beautiful, cozy and truly had everything we needed for our first (cautiously planned) getaway during COVID. We were two couples and had plenty of space to be together and have privacy. Will bring others next time! The owners were incredibly responsive with recommendations in the area especially given limitations at the moment (some restaurants have random hours now understandably). We were perfectly located to explore the area’s vineyards, natural forests, waterfalls, and hiking trails then come back each evening to full comfortable relaxation. It felt like a gift to stay in this wonderful home. There is also a nearby overlook, walking from the house, that rivals any other view. Thank you Melissa!

Outstanding View

I can't say enough good things about our stay. The owner, Laura, was *very* communicative throughout the whole process, quick to answer a few questions we had, gave us great restaurant recommendations and check-in was a breeze. The view was breath-taking. We loved watching the weather come across the valley, saw several beautiful rainbows and spent a LOT of time on the deck just enjoying the view. The location was perfect as we wanted to revisit Saluda, less than a 30 minute drive away. We also explored Tryon, Rutherfordton, Landrum and, of course, Asheville. So many great places to see and lots to do. I would highly recommend Flyin' High and we will be back!

Owner/host very helpful and stayed in communication with us during our stay. Home and views were wonderful. Drive up the mountain to home a little difficult-very twisting. We went out during the day and stayed in at night. Felt like that was prudent as we are all Seniors.

Amazing house!

This was one for the books, for sure! Our family of 5 drove from Miami Lakes, Florida to the Mountains, and even though the pictures are what sold us on this beautiful home, the pictures still do it no justice! The views, from what feel to be as close as possible to heaven, are breathtaking to say the least. The calm and serenity the house gives you are a must on everyone’s bucket list. We’ve been planning this family vacation since late 2019, and because of Covid, we needed to postpone it, but I think we can all say that it was well worth the wait. This house has everything you will need for your stay, the only thing needed is food, and we always made sure to come up the mountain fully stocked. The cleanliness in the house, was amazing. Let’s not forget that whenever you have any questions or concerns, you simply call or text Laura, and she replies very quickly to solve any issues or concerns. My family and I give this house a 10 out of 10, and we are convinced that we will stay here again in the future. The memories that were made on this vacation will be spoken of for a very long time. We have already recommend the house to friends interested and will continue to speak highly of this dreamy house and views! Thank you Laura, for your amazing hospitality. The Perez Family! This house has the most magnificent mountain view I’ve ever had from a rental deck! The house is clean and very up to date and the owner is a great commutator and gives great tips for your stay! Would definitely recommend!

Flyin High is a beautiful home with views that are simply breathtaking. No issues with the home, Laura has everything you will need in her home. We spent some quality time together as a Family and we even got up early on Sunday to enjoy the beautiful sunrise together. The ride up to the home is not for anyone scared of heights, narrow roads, etc——be prepared to focus on the drive to make it up to this beautiful home. Thanks for your top notch mountain retreat.

Perfect Mountain Getaway!

This was the perfect house to accommodate our group of six for our annual mountain getaway. The house is beautiful and the kitchen well-stocked. We enjoyed the thoughtful extra touches like books to read, puzzles to work and games to play. As great as the house is, nothing could beat the spectacular view from the front porch. We enjoyed the porch at night, also, sitting around the fire pit and enjoying the night sky. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short because of Hurricane Zeta. Only in the year 2020 would you ever have to worry about losing power (and water) in the mountains of North Carolina from a hurricane that made landfall in Louisiana! I must say that Laura was incredible in communicating with us throughout our stay. I have rented many vacation homes in the past, but never have I encountered a more helpful owner. We hope to return to Flyin’ High again...when a hurricane is not in the forecast!

Relaxing, Wonderful Girls Getaway!

The views off the deck are incredible and the fire pit is a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine or roast marshmallows! The house has a nice open, layout on main floor with plenty of windows and spots to gather as a small group. The house was well cleaned and the kitchen well equipped for cooking our own meals, which we did. Owner, Laura, was very pleasant to coordinate with and made our stay easy, accommodating, and wonderful! She is very responsive and attentive! Note: For anyone not as familiar or comfortable with driving on steep mountain roads, be prepared for a couple of hairpin turns. It wasn’t too bad (and there’s a beautiful waterfall on way up), but consider road conditions if traveling in winter months as I’d recommend an AWD SUV just in case!

Rustic Luxury Mountain Getaway

We couldn’t have picked a better house to celebrate our son’s 16th birthday with family and friends. The Rustic Luxury Mountain Getaway is everything the name suggests. The pictures of this gorgeous home speak truth! The owner, Laura, was generous with her time in sharing details about the house and the area. She was tremendously responsive to every question we had leading up to and during our stay. We made lots of memories that weekend thanks to the wonderful accommodations Laura provided.

Great Stay on White Oak Mountain

We really enjoyed our trip to this beautiful Columbus property. The home was exactly as described with lots of trails and activities nearby. The drive up to the home was paved and though there were hairpin turns, there were no gravel roads to have to deal with. Melissa immediately responded to all of our questions and provided excellent suggestions for hikes and other things to do in the area. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked. Our favorite place to gather was around the gas fire pit on the beautiful deck, but there was also plenty of comfy seating in the living room for watching movies or chatting. We would love to return to this lovely home!

Amazing property!

We rented this beautiful home for our annual girlfriends trip to the mountains and fell in love with it! The house was decorated beautifully and had everything and more of what we needed. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the house was sparkling clean and well kept. We enjoyed the cozy layout of the home for tv and for conversation. The owner was so accommodating and accessible and helped in every way she could to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The view was breathtaking and there was a beautiful waterfall on the way up the mountain to the home. I would recommend this home to anyone who needs a getaway from the world!

Great mountain cabin experience

The cabin is wonderful. It has everything you need. There are good quality kitchen utensils. The long kitchen table is great for families. The only thing to consider it the drive to get to the cabin, once you reach the mountain. It is definitely better to get there during daylight. There are a lot of twists and turns before you reach the cabin so make sure you know how to maneuver a car! The host, Melissa as mentioned in the previous comments is absolutely the best. She is very quick to respond and very, very helpful. We would definitely recommend this cabin to others, if you want a true luxury, mountain experience.

Wonderful weekend!

We had such a great time on the top of the mountain! This cabin is so beautifully decorated and the pictures on the listing don’t do it justice! The bedrooms are so spacious and comfortable, the kitchen is perfectly stocked with quality cookware and dishes, and the living areas are wonderful. We enjoyed an all-adult weekend with family, and would caution families with children because of the spiral staircase. Communication with the owner was wonderful and we will be recommending this cabin to our friends in the future!

We love everything outdoors and are so happy to share our home in the mountains of North Carolina with you. We live full time in Williamsburg, VA with our dog, Lexi (who's a mere 12 pounds, but runs the show!)

We love this home for many reasons. While you are there, you feel like you are away from everything and sitting on top of the world, but in fact you are just 5 miles from highway 26! The peace and serenity, the wild life, the views, all make it a special place. And we think the layout of the master bedrooms upstairs and 2 more along with another sitting room downstairs make it a great getaway for families.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

This home has many unique qualities to it but a couple that we love are that fact that it uses a cistern for it's water supply.
And also the roads leading up to the top of White Oak Mountain are all paved and easily drive-able. (And you pass a gorgeous waterfall along the way!)
