Workum is an old and lively town on the edge of the IJsselmeer. There are many galleries, various restaurants, and charming terraces. In the town center, next to the Merk, is the Jopie Huisman Museum. Here you can admire his beautiful paintings. Workum also has much to offer shoppers. The people of Workum organize numerous activities throughout the year. Try pottery, blacksmithing, or painting.

In this quiet, rural area, you can truly enjoy peace and quiet. You can regularly spot deer and birds of prey in the fields. In and around Workum, you can enjoy water sports to your heart's content, such as surfing, sailing, kitesurfing, canoeing, and, of course, swimming.
