“Holden You '' has recently been updated with new paint & carpet, enclosed loft to make it quite a cozy bedroom, new deck and screened in porch for all your outdoor dining experiences. Walking into this home you will be met with a cheerful open concept layout boasting nautical décor. The chef in your family will love making tasty meals in the well-equipped updated kitchen. Enjoy your home cooked meals in the new screened in porch listening to the waves crashing. The living room offers an abundance of natural lighting with picture perfect views of the sparking Atlantic Ocean with comfortable furnishings allowing for the best family game night. Take a break from the white sands and lounge by your very own private pool! You will appreciate the convenience of the enclosed outdoor shower making the transition from the beach to inside easy!

There are 5 large bedrooms that allow you to just fall into fresh, pre-made beds with crisp linens providing comfort for up to 12 people, pleasing coastal décor and wall-mounted Smart TVs in each room. What once was the 2nd floor open loft style 5th bedroom has recently been renovated into a truly private bedroom. Downstairs there is a hall and a jack and jill bath, and there is a private bath in the upstairs bedroom.

Relax after a long day rocking your worries away with your favorite beverage in hand while enjoying the mesmerizing sunsets Holden Beach offers. Don't wait to see what all “Holden You” has to offer!

This property is located at 1143 Ocean Blvd West.

This is a PET FREE property.

Swimming pools are open each year from April 15 thru October 15. Pool heating is not available for this home. Pools are cleaned prior to arrival, and also cleaned mid-stay for 7 night rentals.

Note: The guest will be responsible for the propane used with the grill.

Excellent Family Vacation Home

Beautiful view. Wonderful location on beach with added benefit of lighted and heated pool. Lovely, clean house with comfortable furniture. Rental agents are quick to fix any problems that may arise. A “Must Visit Again Rental”.

Holden You did not disappoint

Great floor plan & size for 4 adults & two 7 year olds. Pictures were accurate. Kitchen was well stocked. Great walkway to beach with cold/hot shower rinse off. Public walkway directly beside the home which was surprisingly used by few. Only suggestion would be replace highly used, rusted & broken pool lounge chairs & clean up around the pool & carport area. Area was great for finding shells & shark teeth. Would stay there again.

Great experience!

Overall great experience. The house was clean and updated, it worked very well for our large group. The only 2 concerns were 1) it wasn't clear from the listing, but towels were not included. However the property management group worked hard to get towels delivered to us as quickly as possible. 2) The outdoor propane grill is dangerous. There is no way to adjust the propane going from tank to grill and my husband lost some arm hair. We probably would have grilled more if the grill was safe and functional. Otherwise everything was very nice! The heated pool was a big hit with the kids!

Hi Mandy, thanks for being our guest and for your feedback. We apologize for the confusion on the linens. We have several options on linens, with the standard at most of our properties being that only bed linens are provided, bath linens and beds made are an option that a guest can choose. We discovered after receiving your feedback that the guest grill had an adjustable regulator that had been tampered with by a previous guest and adjusted too high. The regulator is being replaced with a non-adjustable regulator today so that this will not occur again. Thank you again for your feedback and 5-Stars. Nice location, but poor quality, overpriced

We have stayed at many VRBOs over the years, at a variety of beaches and have never had an experience like this one. When we arrived at the home at checkin time, the cleaning crew was still there (we were not early.). We were forced to sit outside for almost an hour past checkin time until the house was ready. The outside area (pool, parking, lower sitting area) had not been cleaned at all. There was trash, beach toys, an overturned dirty rug, and many things left behind and strewn about in the outside area. The house itself was clean. Many of the deck boards needed replaced and has nails sticking out of them. Additionally, the walkway to the beach was unkept and and had many weeds growing throughout it. The pool area landscaping was also very unkept. Lastly, one of the beds was completely broken and the mattress was laying halfway on the floor. It was 2 day before they were able to replace the bed frame. Positives - the location and access to the beach. I would not recommend this home for the price, the quality was not near comparable to other places we have stayed. I have never left a negative review on any stay; however, this one is deserving of one unfortunately. I spent multiple days trying to get everything lined out and getting the management company to make it right, when I should’ve been enjoying a week at the beach. In the end, they decided to offer me a 250 refund which is not even a half of the price per night.

It was a great property the walk is kinda long to the beach from the house but it’s not too bad. The house did only come w 2 towels and 2 wash rags per bedroom so you did have to wash them daily to have a clean one for the next day. The front room furniture was great. If you don’t like sharing a bathroom w other guest this prob isn’t the house for you the master room is connected w a bathroom and another bedroom and it’s pretty small not a lot of space. It is close to the end of the island so it’s pretty far away from everything it’s definitely not in walking distance to anything. But overall we really enjoyed this house.

Second year in a row at this location. New renovations were outstanding. Like I said last year, the only thing wrong with this house is that I don’t own it. Only negative thing I can say is the cleaning crew need to dust the ceiling fans

Holden beach is our new favorite beach. It's laid back, friendly, and not overly crowded.

Loved the house. Plenty of space for everyone! The grand kids loved the heated pool.

Great beach house

This house is a perfect getaway for a group! Plenty of space, great view. The heated pool was fabulous and being able to walk right out to the beach and back via private walkway was so easy with children. Finding the boardwalk shower was already warmed was super convenient as well.

Big Beach

The beach in this area was nice and flat— no huge drop offs. The house accomodated 3 family’s nicely with bathrooms and TVs in each bedroom— the screened in porch was nice since it rained a lot during our stay

We had a Bundt pan, but no can opener!

Enjoying our stay had nothing to do with this rental. My husband and I have had many good experiences with VRBO. We always stay in top notch places. This wasn’t one of them. I was not overly concerned with the poor review I read before I booked this home. Not enough seats in the living room or a need for a paint job didn’t bother me. Not having adequate room to eat dinner was the problem. While there was a table outdoors, the bench was wobbly and not good for little kids or old women. We ate outside twice, but because of wind we had to eat inside. There was not enough room for twelve. While informed that the kitchen was stocked with standard items, I was told to bring any special Items I might need. I don’t consider a can opener, liquid measuring cups or wooden spoon special items. Pans not big enough to cook for 12. Kitchen utensils are so cheap you couldn’t stir anything or flip a pancake because then we’re too flexible. There are ants in the kitchen cabinets. They brought us ant traps, but needs sprayed. Perhaps this house should be meant for 8. The upstairs bedroom was too noisy. This was stated in previous reviews, but was worse than expected. Walls were open at the top. This room would best be served as a second living space. Dishwasher was not installed properly. Fell forward every time you opened it. Needs to be anchored. Management intended to fix it, but not during our week. The pool was nice and the leather couch was comfortable, not worth the other problems. Last and probably most important problem is the condition of the walkway to the beach. It’s deplorable . Thank goodness the management company came and nailed some planks. The walkway needs to be replaced before someone trips and falls. Beware of this problem.

Not Quite as Advertised

Despite renovations this house definitely shows it's age. Many issues regarding upkeep and cleanliness. Below is a list of issues we experienced during our family visit.Definitely not worth the money! Holden Beach Vacation Home Issues • Light bulbs Out o 2 in Master Bath o 1 in Kitchen • Water Damage Stains o MBR Ceiling o Guest BR ceiling down right • Mirrors Film o MBR o Guest BR back left • Kitchen sink faucet handle loose • Stainless Steel appliances o Refrigerator: Film; rust spots; dirty o Dishwasher: Film • MRB cracks in ceiling • Deck Door: push button knob/lock: rusted and hard to open • Deck walkway to beach: Significant safety issue; warped boards; uneven • Ceiling Fan in Living Room: Visible accumulation of dust on blades • Master Bed Headboard: Several vertical boards loose • MBR: Dirt green plastic chair next to dresser • Bedrooms: blinds damaged • Bathrooms Down: Mold issues • Dead bugs in MBR • Washer/Dryer in MBR closet; privacy?? • Jack & Jill BR in MBR; privacy??

Thank you for staying with us. Had we known of any issues or concerns with the property we would have gladly had our housekeeping team re-clean the property. This is a very popular property in our rental portfolio. The items that you have referenced are being addressed. The green chair is one that a guest brought in from the outside. There are a number of things that the owner had planned on getting handled this past year but will be completed for 2022 along with painting the interior. Lack of manpower resources and material availability in our market caused maintenance items to be delayed. Thank you for bringing these items to our attention.

Had to call housekeeping when we got there house was not clean. Several chairs were broken, tv upstairs never worked, attic door would not stay closed, cabinet doors were lose, almost falling off in areas, not enough hot water for our group. Needed a vacuum in the house, we found three fishing hooks on the deck below we had three children with us so I had to sweep the entire deck for safety.

House is old and in need of interior paint . house sleeps 12 but commons area will only seat 6 In serious need of at least 2 more comfortable chairs Dining chairs were rickety and one broken Blinds in one of bedrooms on the street side were broken and very old It seems like for what they charge some updates could be made It was not newly renovated. The side porch had trash in it and cigarette butts left. The pool area also had trash left and someone elses pool toys

Great for family vacation

This was the 1st for our family vacation, & we loved this house! There was plenty of room for all 12 to sleep & the pool was great for the times we weren’t at the beach. Communication with Proactive was amazing especially with the pandemic happening now. We would definitely book this property again!

Holden You Review

The house was perfect for our needs. The pool is small, but works for small children. It was great to walk straight out to the beach with NO stairs to navigate. We liked having 4 bedrooms on the same floor. The upstairs bathroom floor was a little "iffy." We had an electrical issue ... "single phasing"... We called Proactive and they were at the house within 20 minutes. Some kind of generator was brought in to keep full electric to the house for a day or so. The lights were beginning to flicker the night before the electric company came to fix the problem. It took the electric company a few hours to fix it and only had the electric off for about 45 minutes total. We would definitely stay at Holden You again.
