A luxury log cabin with open living areas designed to host family groups. With water views and direct lake access with the swim dock, take one of our paddleboards or kayaks out on the water. Enjoy sunset views from the screened porch, the dock or the deck. Watch the geese in the morning over a cup of coffee from one of the decks. Host a big family lunch on the large dining room table. Play games in the finished basement - perfect for big and little kids alike!

The Daring Horseman is located on year-long deep water on the north end of Lake Nottely, near the Nottely Boat Club and Marina and Davenport Mountain. We're an equal 20 min drive to downtown Blueridge or Blairsville. With nearby hiking trails, wineries, fishing and the water in your backyard you can experience the North Georgia Mountains. Grab a book and sit quietly, we frequently see deer, geese and ducks, or light the firepit and have social hour with your group. Lighting fast fiber optic internet, YouTube TV and Samsung TV and the game cupboard for rainy days plus toddler toys and childlocked kitchen cabinets. Minutes from the Cozy Cove marina, you can rent a motorboat to cruise the lake, or take one of our kayaks & paddleboards out on the lake. Covered dock for you to bring your own boat.

The enormous open floor plan features an inviting main family room furnished by a professional interior designer with high-end furnishings, a huge stone fireplace and soaring two-story picture windows framing the lake & mountains. A large dining table seats sixteen and the kitchen with island is sized and well stocked for several chefs wanting to join in on the preparation. Three of the five bedrooms feature on-suite baths and all have designer linens.

In an ideal North Georgia mountain location, the lakelife life awaits you. Daring Horseman is set up to provide one of the most memorable vacations of your life.

Family Vacation

Sandi and Moose were great host. Great size home on the lake for our family, with 3 master bedrooms and plenty of other spaces with beds, bath and social spaces. This home was very accommodating and pleasant to stay in.

Great week - responsive, friendly host, spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed home. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor spaces - open-air deck with a nice view, large screened-in porch, plenty of outdoor seating in a variety of locations, dock with boat slip, and 2 paddle boards available! This home is conveniently located, close to the Nottely Boat Club and Marina for easy access to pontoons for rent, also very close to big water on the lake - the Nottely rope swing nearby is fun as well (access by boat). Tons of space in this lovely home! When the toy shows up?

Wonderful weekend at the lake!

We rented Daring Horseman to celebrate a 50th wedding anniversary. The house was absolutely beautiful and was stocked with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. From comfortable beds and linens to kitchen accessories to lake toys and floats, we had EVERYTHING we needed! I highly recommend this house on beautiful lake Nottley!

Best on Nottely

This is our 3rd stay in this home on Nottely. The house fits our group of 12 easily and is well appointed with everything you could need - we used the paddle board, kayak, hammock, the boat tube, and more! The screened in porch was a perfect spot to watch the sunset. Already planning our return trip.

Family wedding

We spent the weekend in Blairsville for a family wedding. There were 10 in our party and the house was perfect. The beds were comfortable and we all slept great. Make sure you bring toilet paper with you and anything you might want to eat. Town is about 25 minutes away.

West Family Lake Weekend #4

This property was perfect for our family of 13. We love Lake Nottely and plan an annual trip to hangout and have fun. It is also very convenient to the Nottely Marina where we get our pontoon boat rental. We enjoyed the home very much. The dock was great. The kitchen had everything we needed. We also used the fire pit outside.

Great vacation home!

We had a surprise engagement celebration and it couldn’t have worked out better. The house and area was perfect. The house had everything we needed plus some. It was super clean. We enjoyed our time on the lake in the kayaks that were provided and enjoyed the porches. The kids enjoyed playing in the lower level with the provided toys, games, and other activities. A++!

Family Retreat

We had a great time in this special place. The kids enjoyed swimming off the dock and using the great floats and life vests provided. The bedrooms were perfect and the downstairs playroom great for the little ones. This property has the best stocked kitchen ever. Ever. The screened-in porch was so nice, as was the deck. We loved the firepit as well. It was clean and everything was fresh and ready for us when we got there.

Awesome vacation!!

We loved everything about the house the location, everything. So much room for my family of 15. Everyone loved this property so so much. The location is fantastic. My grandkids loved the kayaks and fishing. And we all loved sitting by the fire pit. I’d definitely recommend this house and I’d definitely go back there. Sandi, the owner, was wonderful to work with. We had zero issues Fantastic get away. We loved every second

The kitchen had everything we needed and more. Even though it rained almost every day we had plenty to do. Fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming. Golfing nearby. Very comfortable beds. The 2nd refrigerator downstairs was an essential for our group. We will be back!!!!

Wonderful for family gathering.

The house was perfect for our family of 12. Plenty to do with the paddle boards and water toys. The kids enjoyed swimming and fishing from the dock. We rented a boat from the marina which is right around the corner. Huge dining table was great for family board games and loved the screen porch for rainy day reading. Plenty of room for all the spread out. All descriptions and communication were on point. Would definitely return.

The perfect house!

We had such a wonderful vacation in the Blue Ridge mountains. Your beautiful home was the highlight of our trip. The kitchen is equipped with everything, the house is tastefully decorated and the beds are super comfortable. There are so many places to hang out both indoors and out. Lake Nottely was amazing - the kids caught four 20 lb stripers with our fishing guide Jeremy who picked us up on the dock! The house was huge with plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy the amazing views. The house was clean, well stocked with essentials and the owners were great to work with. Thank you for sharing your home! I would highly recommend it to anyone. We will be coming back again next year!

Quarantine-catation!

Traveled from South Florida with 2 kids (6 & 2). Absolutely fantastic vacation, we were able to get drive up groceries at Walmart in Blue Ridge, we were able to stay at our cabin and have a fantastic time without having to travel out. Perfect social distancing vacation! Rented a boat from the Nottely boat club which is .5 miles away, they offered fantastic service. This house comes with everything you will need, life jackets, kayaks, paddle boards, a beautiful fire pit w fire wood And the best stocked spice pantry of any rental I have been to. Even had laundry detergent for use and plenty of beach towels clean and ready to go. Owner was an absolute delight to work with. We will definitely be coming back!

No trash pickup the entire week. Cans were already full from the previous week. No response until 3 days after we had returned home. There were scorpions inside the house. One person bitten—slightly. Both refrigerators contained items from previous occupants.

Lake Life is Fabulous

Every summer my family, cousins, uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews go on vacation together. We often struggle to find the house that meets all of our needs. This house is that house. We have toddlers, teens, middle aged and elderly. We cook every meal and need a variety of activities. This house has communal space for reading, card games, jigsaw puzzling, kayaking, swimming, fire pit nights. The kitchen is equipped for anything you can cook and plenty of forks for everyone! It is beautifully appointed and yet very comfortable. The cove of Lake Nottelly this house is on is quiet and beautiful with mountain views from the dock. The owners of this property are communicative and responsive. We love staying at The Daring Horseman!

Perfect location and comfortable home

We loved this house! Perfect location so close to the marina and wide area of the lake with little traffic. The home has so many great amenities— they leave all spices available for you to use which is a great help. The pantry is not open so count on counter space for food. The rooms had awesome beds for small kids to sleep with parents. Two huge masters upstairs with three beds. The other room upstairs is perfect for two kids. The walk down to the lake was easy and not as steep as other rentals. This is a great place for a family get together! Our only drawback was lack of drapes/shades in the bedrooms and the two beds in the basement that are out in the open facing the windows without drapes to shut out light. We would love to return next year and know you will also love this house.

Amazing!

We thoroughly enjoyed a weekend family reunion in this stunning location. The views over the lake, combined with a wood-burning fireplace provided the perfect setting. Large seating area, fully-furnished kitchen, and play area for children downstairs made it very practical for our large group. The very large table was a personal highlight, allowing us to all eat together and enjoy unhurried conversation over meals. With chilly evenings, we even made use of the outdoor fire pit, allowing children to swim yet warm up by the fire. The weather was not quite warm enough for us to utilize the large screened in porch, but that provides another exceptional living space. Children also really enjoyed the SUPs and kayaks, allowing them a bit of lake fun even in early March! Would we come again? Definitely!

The Daring Horseman - one of the best ever lake vacation spots.

I would give more than 5 stars if I could. There are so many extra amenities with this beautiful, amazing home that are not even listed. Comfort creatures, everything you would ever need in the kitchen - with our family and kids in and out of the lake - we cooked every day. Had s’mores at the fire pit - just bring your fixings! Lots of life vests in case your forget one (although we all each have our own). Lake “toys” for kids of all ages. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for private spaces. We almost never turned on a tv! Sandi is a top notch communicator and so accommodating, which made our 2 week stay even easier and stress free! Thanks, Sandi. We all hated to leave and everyone said the home and perfect weather made it so hard to do so.

Family "Cabin Christmas" - Wonderful 7 night stay!

For the past 8 years our family rents a north Georgia property to gather together and spend quality time as a family around the holidays. Over the years our family has grown to include many grand children, and every year we search for a larger property. This property was perfect! The open floorpan was great for our group and all rooms are very spacious. Weather was warm enough a couple days to enjoy the screen porch (owner provides many blanket/throws for inside and out). Cooks in the family commented on a well equipped kitchen and good size grill. Large bedrooms and comfy beds and bedding, Decor and furnishings were beautiful and comfortable. Fire pit was enjoyed and has a nice level area for a good size group to enjoy. Cozy! While I can see this being a great lake house to rent in the summer, it was equally a great north Georgia winter home! Blue Ridge, McCaysville and Blairsville all close enough to visit as well as the many hiking trails. The owner has nice detailed maps at the property. They thought of everything!!! Owner quickly answered any questions we had prior to booking and also leading up to our arrival. Once at the property, we did not have anything that needed to be addressed as information was at the property for any questions that came up. We would definitely consider renting this home again. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I love water and my husband loves the mountains, so this home is the perfect mix for both of us. As busy professionals living in the city, we needed a quiet place to get away when time allows and it needed to be large to accomodate our extended families. This home is tucked way off a residential road, nestled in the forest on 1.5 acres with a slope to the water - we couldn't have asked for a more perfect solution. We've travelled extensively our whole lives and lived in multiple cities so we've set the home up to be ready for visitors at a moment's notice, with games and water toys. Just bring your clothes and a bag of groceries!
