Come enjoy the beauty of Emerald Isle in our BEACHFRONT duplex, the Rustic Peacock East (or West or book BOTH)!

Located at the highly sought after area of the island called the Point.

We totally made over both sides of this property in 2018 (East and West) including a new saltwater pool (shared between east and west sides of duplex), quartz counter tops, bedding, appliances, paint, and flooring throughout. SEE the NEW PHOTOS!

NEW in 2024!!! We have built a boardwalk all the way to the beach. Now it is even easier getting all of your beach gear out to the water.

You will love the private walkway to the beach, deck overlooking a private pool (shared by both sides of duplex), ceiling fans in every room, covered parking, Wi-Fi, and Smart TVs in every room.

NEWLY ADDED enclosed outdoor shower with hot and cold water and NEW area to play cornhole. (Added in 2021)

Spend your days on the largest section of the beach right out your door or relax in the private pool for a change before retiring into the spacious and beachy comforts that the “Rustic Peacock” has to offer.

Being at the Point offers the option to play on the beach, picking up shells or walk around the inlet and explore the Sound.

Emerald Isle faces south so you have unobstructed views of the SUNRISE AND SUNSET from your upper and lower decks!

Watching dolphins swim and play in the surf is another favorite pastime.

The Rustic Peacock, East is ideal for families, guys’ retreats, or ladies’ getaways… Rent this duplex (5 BR, 3 BA) or both sides (10 BR, 6 BA) and bring whole family! Call to book both together. Not enough time!

Our adult children and my grandchildren enjoyed our stay here. There were 7 adults and 2 children and there was plenty of room for us to feel comfortable inside and outside. The pool was a nice way to end a full day at the beach. We would love to make this trip again.

Great House

We really enjoyed our family vacation at the rustic peacock. It was exactly as advertised and well stocked with kitchen and dining necessities. The walk to the beach is the only drawback to this property. The kids and grandkids handled it fine, but it was a little much for Gramma and Papa. Once at the beach, it was beautiful and quiet with only a few scattered families. Restaurants and shops are plentiful and all of our meals were excellent. We also enjoyed a trip to the Aquarium. Overall, we were very pleased and would not hesitate to stay there again.

Family Beach Time

Property is just like the photos online. The distance over the sand dunes was a bit challenging but well worth it. Beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. Would definitely go back.

Ah The Point

The location is one of the best on Emerald Isle. It is at the point and places you just steps away from the best area to collect shells. There is little to no drive through traffic due to the location. As other reviews have pointed out, it is a bit of a walk to the water, but this is made up for with the pool. Even in mid-May my family totally enjoyed the pool. Though it is down at the Point it is an easy and short drive up Coast Guard Rd to all that Emerald Isle has to offer in dinning and activities. The house itself was spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with small appliances and utensils. The layout of the rooms and beds worked out well for us. There isn't a tub, but my granddaughter (15 mos old) quickly took to taking a shower and it wasn't an issue. We definately would stay again.

Absolutely perfect place!

The home was just a perfect place to stay at in Emerald Isle! The home was inviting, beautiful views of the ocean and beach area was secluded. The only thing that was difficult was the walk out to the water at the beach over the dunes and wide beach from the dredging! We will definitely stay here again!

2020 Emerald Isle Vacation

The property was very nice. Kitchen fully equiped. There are 3 bathrooms, all with showers. Not one tub on the east side. Which is okay, if you don't have little kids that have to be bathed by parents. We needed a tub. The swimming pool was very nice to relax in after a day on the beach. We loved the beach being away from all the hustle and bussel of a crowd. However, getting to and from the beach was a very exhausting ordeal. There are 3 large sets of dunes to go up and down and then you get to the long walk from the dunes to the water. Walking on the sand from the dunes to the water was not bad at all. However, the trek from the walk way to the flat sand / land was very hard with all of our beach gear and children. Don't get me wrong... we had a great vacation, we will probably choose something with a little more ease to get to and from the beach. Plus somthing that has a tub to bathe our babies in.

Lifelong memories

Our family which included my husband and I, our two children and their spouses and our 3 grandchildren stayed at The Rustic Peacock for a wonderful week filled with lifelong memories. The house was exactly as advertised, clean, pool for kids ( and adults ), beach access, beautiful view... I could go on and on. I recommend it to anyone. Thanks to owners.

NC getaway

Great vacation house my only real issue was the distance from house to beach. Even though house on beach was very difficult walk up and down soft sand hills . House itself lovely, fully stocked with all immenities needed.

Beautiful house, fantastic beach

We truly enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Peacock. It was everything that was described in the listing, but the beach and dunes are beyond description! We enjoyed the sunrises and even the severe storm one night, with the sound of wind and rain and crashing surf. So awesome! The beds are super comfy, and how nice to have linens supplied (a rare find in this area). The kitchen is well appointed with everything we needed. We would love to return to the Rustic Peacock!

Wonderful Rental on an Uncrowded Beach

The Rustic Peacock was clean, accessible, stocked with every conceivable kitchen impliment, and nice linens, on an uncrowded beach about 100 yards from "The Point" (where the White Oak River enters the Atlantic). There were six adults and five children in our party and we had a wonderful time. The owners were most accommodating and communitive with us and we were not disappointed with anything about this rental unit, its location or its pool. We highly recommend it.

Great spot for a family get together

Amazing Week!!! What a relaxing vacation!

The house was clean. The kitchen was well stocked with plates, glasses, silverware..etc.. for a large crowd. Also, had plenty of towels and washcloths. We loved the location! The beach was wonderful and not crowded. The weather was perfect. The house accommodated 8 adults and 1 toddler very well.

Immaculate Beach and great home!

The beach was breathtaking. Very clean, private, wide- just gorgeous. The house was very spacious and accommodated two families with children easily! We will definitely be back! LeAnn was an awesome host as well- very responsive and helpful! We had a wonderful time.

This property and the property owners were great! I would highly recommend this property!

This property was very nice, well kept, clean and was in a private location that was convenient to local attractions and restaurants. The owners are very courteous, accommodating and professional. During our stay one of the electrical outlets in our bathroom was not functioning. When we called the property manager to report the issue, he was there in minutes, literally, to remedy the issue. The view is amazing and our toddler loved the pool. Unfortunately our trip was cut short by Hurricane Florence. However, following the hurricane, the owners promptly issued our pro-rated refund check and deposit. I would highly recommend this property as a future vacation destination!

What a lovely getaway!

My friends and family enjoyed a relaxing week at the Rustic Peacock. The soothing grays and blues of the interior of the home matched the peace and quiet that can only be found near the point. When the tides were too rough for my children, we found the pool tucked behind the dunes (which acted as a fantastic wind break) an attractive place to splash around in. This was my first encounter with a salt water pool, and my skin and eyes were happy with the alternate to chlorine! The kitchen was VERY well-appointed, with some extra amenities like an electric griddle (worked perfectly for blueberry pancakes), and a cheese slicer that helped for appetizers during our long happy hour--we took our time making group meals at night. There was even a sharp knife in the kitchen (which is very rare to find in rentals). I would advise future renters that the beach is much deeper near the point, so if you are unsteady on your feet and can't walk long distances this might not be the best bet to get easily to the ocean's edge. Also, I'd advise running the dishwasher and/or clothes washer either during periods when everyone is outside, or after showers at night, because the water pressure in the showers and sinks decreases when those larger appliances are in use. The beds were very comfortable, and I found myself waking up easily every morning without an alarm clock needed. I highly recommend the Rustic Peacock to anyone looking.
