Removed from the resort beachfront crowds, the 2 acre Banyan Tree simply overflows with peace and Hawaiiana. Giant Banyan, Monkeypod and Jacaranda trees create perfect shady spots to lounge or sun lovers can enjoy spectacular ocean and mountain views while hanging out around the large pool.

We are just a mile to the quaint cowboy town of Makawao and a 15 drive down to Paia, both of which are brimming with restaurant choices and boutiques. Paia is also home to some of the best beaches on the island.

For those whose taste leans a bit more adventurous than beach days, upcountry Maui is also known for its hiking and mountain biking. Between Poli Poli, Haleakala National Park, and the Makawao Forest Reserve, you will have more than enough exploration options for your trip.

Furnished in traditional island style furniture, the living room, formal dining room, and bedrooms will give you the flavor of old Hawaii. Alongside the flavor of old Hawaii, you will have the conveniences of modern Hawaii with high speed internet, a laundry room, and a fully equipped kitchen.

This was a great place with tons of space. We had 9 people from three different families so having the individual cabins and space for showers and sleep was perfect - but the common area to gather was perfect! The kitchen is fully stocked and the ping pong table was a hit. We gathered for breakfast every morning outside and enjoyed the grounds. I would recommend taking the short walk or drive into town to visit the cute shops and local restaurants. We enjoyed the morning breakfast spots!

We had an amazing vacation here. We had 4 generations ranging from 4 months to 81 years and everyone had a great time. There was room to spread out and room to all gather together. Having the private pool and spa was perfect. Host was available when we needed her and the B and B was well stocked. We also loved the Maui feel of the accommodations and being out of the busier parts of Maui. I highly recommend this venue for larger groups!

What a special property. The location is perfect. We rented it for a work training and it was excellent since everyone has their own room/bathroom but we were able to meet in the large living room for evening presentations/discussions. The host was responsive with questions. It was very clean and check-in was easy. I hope to return again for both this meeting and with family for vacation.

50th anniversary family trip

This is a beautiful property that easily and comfortably accommodated our family of 12. The large main house was perfect for gathering, with a spacious living room and well stocked kitchen. The grounds were gorgeous where the little ones loved running and playing, and a large pool and hot tub were great for relaxing in the evenings. The owners were wonderfully kind and accommodating, making check-in and check-out smooth and stress free. This was the perfect place for our family vacation, and we would absolutely stay here again.

Rooms were clean. Timely response by host.Couple of times locked ourself out of our rooms. Host showed up in minutes and had them unlocked for us. Kitchen was clean and spacious for a group of 13 adults.Plenty of fans provided. Air conditioning in the bedrooms would have made this a luxurious place for large groups.Overall a very good experience.

Family reunion

We spent 3 nights on the property. There were 16 in our group so took up the whole property which was nice. The house had everything we needed. The host was easy to communicate with and very friendly!We loved using the pool everyday and enjoyed having coffee outside with the beautiful views.

Paradise for a large family reunion with children

There is absolutely nothing we could think of that was missing from our week at Banyon Tree! The property is beautiful, lovingly maintained, and made this our best trip to Hawaii ever!! Actually, our best-ever family vacation! Plenty of room for swimming, playing Capture the Flag, enjoying family dinners, playing card and table games, and just hanging out. We enjoyed seeing the turtles at Ho’okepa Beach, playing in the river at Íao State Park, and shopping local markets. Comfortable island breezes topped off our trip to Maui. Thank you, Helena, for your responsiveness throughout the reservation process and during our stay! Our international family reunion was unique and remarkable because of you and Banyon Tree!

16 of us stayed at this beautiful property. Two Families, 12 children total. We have nothing bad to say. All of our expectations were met. The listing is true and accurate. Communication with the property manager was always prompt and efficient.We would definitely stay her again.

Stunning property

We had an amazing stay with our friends/family the week of our wedding! The property is gorgeous and everyone had plenty of space to spread out! We really enjoyed the hot tub and views and being able to walk to Makawao town for brunch. Helaina was so friendly when we met her at check-in. Would highly recommend this place for a big group!

Great Family Getaway

A wonderful historic property with plenty of room for active kids - We enjoyed catching up with each other while the kids played soccer & ping pong. Everyone enjoyed the pool. A great base from which to explore beaches & the local towns. Helaina was welcoming & available if we needed anything. It was a much more authentic experience than staying in a resort or condo. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing

A great place for a family vacation! We had a large family vacation planned and this was the perfect spot! Historic, Peaceful, Lush gardens & Beautiful views

Property had an old Hawaii feel, entire home was very clean and stocked with everything you would need at a home away from home. Property manager was very kind and responsive to anything we needed. Work Retreat Paradise!

Helaina's banyan tree paradise was the perfect place for our annual work retreat, and a great vacation spot for large groups! It met all our needs-- clean, spacious property with plenty of rooms for individuals and couples, kitchen stockful of supplies to cook our meals, large communal living space to hold our informal work meeting, and a beautiful pool and outdoor space to relax in. Great location only 15 minutes from the airport and walking distance to downtown Makawao and a local tequila distillery. Highly recommend!

A very special family holiday

After months of searching for a spot and planning a family Christmas/New Year vacation for me and my extended family, including 4 toddlers, we settled on the this property on Maui. Simply put, it was perfect for all of us. Beautiful compound on a stunning piece of property with hosts who jumped through hoops to be sure we were happy and comfortable. The 10 days we spent on Maui will forever be a special memory for me and my family and we hope to stay at the at this beautiful B&B again someday. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Families and friends trip

4 families total 14 people stayed at this place and we all had an amazing time!! Communication with the owner went great and she was always responsive. One family couldn’t come to the trip but she worked out a refund for us by closing off one of the rooms. She even bought a new rice cooker for us!! Thank you so much for the great hospitality.

Maui oasis

The property was even better than pictured as the wide variety of flowers and vegetation was fantastic. There were lime and banana trees, multiple varieties of plumeria and other trees. The accommodations were perfect for our party of 9, each couple/person had their own room with bath. The home and cottages were spacious, clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend!

Wonderful place to stay

We were a family of 13 and this property was perfect for our Hawaiian vacay! Lots of lush greenery and flowers, open space for the kids to play, pool and hot tub that we all enjoyed and the main house was large enough for us all to gather in. The kitchen was large and spacious and had everything we needed to make meals. And the location was excellent! Centrally located to all the sites and beaches on Maui and 20 minutes from the airport. Our host, Helaina, was lovely and very responsive to any questions or needs that we had. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others without reservation!
