San Clemente Modern Beach House

Surprising and inaccurate at best. We have been hosting for 11 plus years and never was there a complaint or issue about a suppose "odor" or "smell" in the unit. For one, the unit is one of the newer buildings in the neighborhood having been built in 2010. The furnishings/sheets are constantly and regularly changed to new. We would not be in the Top 10 list of "guest favorite" in San Clemente if we did not run these vacation rentals properly. We also just had a long term (2 months) tenant prior to this guest and as per custom, we just had the carpets and rugs and couches, deep cleaned and shampooed. We also immediately had other guests check in after them and not one guest ever mentioned anything about a smell or uncleanliness. Interestingly enough, they did mention that her daughter competes in equestrian events in the next town (reason for renting our unit), they did opt for $1500 damage coverage which was completely and promptly returned/refunded to them in full after they checked out, and our housekeepers found things in order. Everything is displayed in photos, and they know exactly what they are renting. Of course they would complain of something hard to prove (i.e. smell) and unseen. These seems to be a projection and gaslighting over something which they thought I might complain about after they check out.
