Great cabin

Close to Asheville, Catawba Falls, and Black Mountain. Cabin was perfect for us, everyone had their own bedroom/bathroom and privacy. The little yard was perfect for our little dog. Hot tub was clean and easy to use. Took post-hike dips and enjoyed the sunsets and fireflies. WiFi worked great. Well kept neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Felt safe yet secluded. Great stay!

Beautiful Seclusion

The location is beautiful and secluded. The paved roads to the house are nice. The house is clean and had everything we needed. The hot tub is large and exceptionally clean. Good location to explore Black Mountain or Asheville. Thanks for the stay.

We LOVED it

The house was great! Clean and well organized, and the directions to get there were excellent. We didn't have any issues with cell coverage. Yes, the basement bathroom had low water pressure but it wasn't an issue.

Long Weekend

Fantastic location, views and privacy. Inside is spacious and well furnished. Only area that could genuinely use some attention is the noticeably low water pressure and temperature in the sinks and showers. Otherwise, great spot!

Cute cabin

Cute cabin, secluded with great views. Hot tub is great and Iā€™m sure fire pit would have been nice though there were no propane tanks left for us (all empty). Dishes could have been cleaner. Mattresses are terrible - this is my biggest complaint. There is barely any water pressure anywhere besides downstairs shower and no hot water anywhere else either - this took a cold shower upstairs to figure out. Not sure if this can be helped or not but knowing ahead of time would have been appreciated. Overall, besides the terrible sleep on those mattresses, it was a cute place to stay though because of that experience Iā€™m not sure itā€™s worth the money.

Beautiful but a few FYI

The drive to the property is paved (gated) and the house is beautiful. It was so nice having a welcome bag with a note and a few things for us. The house is very clean. There were a few issues...1. There are no lights down the steep steps so we used our phones at night (which is very challenging with groceries) 2. The communication from the rental property was good about the guy coming to fix the hot tub. However, Wednesday a hot tub maintenance person came (every Wednesday) and luckily I knew this on because I read all the paperwork before we left, which is not on VRBO, and no heads up on what time they were coming. Then we had a random person come and spray for bugs that we had no clue was coming and I hope that the spray was pet friendly because we brought our dog. I just wish we could have prepared Cooper, our dog has anxiety so it was hard to get him to calm down after he left. 3. The information that the rental company sends on what is at the house and in the kitchen is not accurate, no casserole dishes, which I specifically brought food for to make certain dishes that we could not make, and was stated that was there and was not (1 measuring cup was a cup and the other I had no clue) so I would advise to bring your own cookware. 4. We could not figure the smart TVs out but I believe it was because the connection between the cables and internet were not sync and we tried everything, someone needs to check them out (you can't even cast on none of the TVs on the main floor just downstairs). TV down stairs is way easier to work. But for the upstairs to get regular channels you have to change your inputs ( I think HDMI 1) which is not hard. The previous people logged in on Netflix so we logged them out and made sure we were logged out before we left. Also, I wish we knew how strick the community rules were before we got this place like the quite hours and that they would rather you not use the hot tub after certain hours because they don't want you to be noisy, stuff like that. Which we weren't. There were others but that one stood out. I get not being noisy but to say I can't use the private hot tub on the property that is at the house after certain hours like they do for hotels....just sayin. So, I called about it and they say they rather you not after 9pm but if you do, to be as quiet as possible. I get not be obnoxiously loud, or partys etc. It was just off-putting. But other than that the house is nice and it's a beautiful location.

The most perfect cabin!

We absolutely loved this cabin! It was my husband and 1 year old. Beautiful views and the fire pit and hot tub were so relaxing at night. Loved rocking on the back porch in the mornings. Fireplace was super easy to use as well by a switch on the wall, no work to have to actually make a fire yourself. Of note (not worth a bad review) the water pressure is low and water temp didnā€™t get too hot, which is understandable since itā€™s from a well. The refrigerator water tastes weird so we drank out of the sink. And the cabin is a solid 25-28 minutes from town on very curvy and steep roads/hills. But the drive was still beautiful and enjoyable. I get carsick so I had to drive every time. Would 100% recommend and stay again!

I love Black Mountain cabin. The rental company was great about dealing with any issues. The view from the deck is so relaxing and beautiful. The property was clean. It is just overall and amazing and romantic place to stay and I would probably return again.

House was great once we got there. Got lost twice on the way. May want to let people know about the roads. Water pressure was very low throughout and kitchen was super small. Otherwise we loved it!

Great Stay

This was a wonderful house and I can't wait to go back. Secluded, cozy, and amazing views. Loved every bit of the house. Plus, 30 minutes to Asheville and closer to the wonderful town of Black Mountain. This is a great place and I will be back.

Beautiful cabin!!

The cabin was beautiful!! The pictures donā€™t really capture how big and beautiful the cabin was. It was well furnished with everything we needed and extremely clean. The view was good, not incredible but still good. The hot tub was clean and plenty big for 4 people. The downside of the location is that it is 47 mins from anything! 47 mins on long windy roads! The house was a little difficult to find at first. Parking was fine, we just had once car but could easily fit two more if we had to. Watch for the stairs at night leading to the house. They do have lights but we could not figure out how to get them to come on so had to use flashlights to see the path and stairs to the door. Checkout was easy and Greybeard was easy to work with. The community is gated so you need a code to get in. Late one night our code didnā€™t work, I called the 1800 number not expecting anyone to answer that late, they did and was able to get us a new code. I do recommend this place and would love to stay here again. It can easily sleep 8 people if the owners allow.

Great stay but...

The house was beautiful and a number of supplies were added that one might not expect. The appliances were above average however; the fireplaces would not work according to directions given, the outside torches were unusable because they not filed and had no wicks, there was an extra propane tank for the fire pit but we had replace the empty one ourselves...thank goodness my companion knew how to exchange them himself! and there was quiet a bit of dust and spider webs throughout. All of these issues would not keep us from using Graybeard Rentals again but we might think twice before spending this amount for an extended weekend again! On the upside, the power went out on the mountain our first night and we were able to maintain our evening plans thanks to the backup generator and the quick response from the call line. Chris, the handyman, came up the dark mountain quickly and explained the whole outage to us quickly and was very pleasant!

Beautiful Mountain Escape

This was a beautiful property with gorgeous mountain views. The roads were paved and made for easy access to this somewhat remote cabin away from it all, which is exactly what we were looking for in a getaway. We loved the outdoor areas and spent a good deal of time on the porch in the rocking chairs, the hot tub, by the fire pit, etc. where we enjoyed the beautiful views. We got to see more wildlife than expected, a pleasant surprise. The management company was very responsive to any issues.

You will be in a mountain cabin far away from town so depending on your preference that is either really great or really bad. My wife and I loved it! The home itself could use some updating as far as the appliances but as far as the view you can not beat it!!
