A building filled with character and charm built in 1877, one of only a few that survived the hurricane of the 1900's. The unique twist of the building is what we fondly refer to as "character". Located on the square, a private brick paved courtyard with large oak trees to unwind or simply enjoy the quiet that our small town has to offer. Shops are within walking distance or just minutes drive from eating establishments. The 2 bedrooms share a Hollywood bath (each bedroom has it's own vanity and toilet but share a claw foot tub/shower enclosure). The first bedroom has a queen and a twin. The second, has 2 full size beds. In addition, there's a hall half bath. The kitchen is fully equipped with the basics for meal preparation along with breakfast cereal, coffee and tea. Washer and dryer available for guest use. Minimal parking in the rear or free street parking in the front. No parking or blocking of the side or back alley. Free WiFi, Netflix and TV with 50+ local channels, DVD player

No smoking or pets.

DO NOT stay here!! UNLESS want to be awakened intermittently from 11 PM to 7 AM by loud rambling trains that blow their whistles all night long right by your house where youā€™re staying. Oh itā€™s super cute and clean inside. So what?! I didnā€™t go there to look at the cute living room all night long or to be ignored by the owner when I asked for a refund a second time then VRBO management told me they also reached out to her several times and she never answered them either. DO NOT stay here!!! Unless you want pay money to be sleep-deprived, and risk a ā€œforcedā€ all-nighter, or you can sleep through periodic freight trains all night. The owner said I was harsh- so is staying here. So harshā€” So deceptive to leave out such a critical aspect of the location in the description!

Such a great place to stay, eat, shop, visit museums. The location is perfect for all these things. The home itself is so charming and comfortable, nicely decorated and has everything you could need. Our host, Donna was very accommodating to our wishes and needs. I will definitely book this home again when in the area.

The host was most welcoming and the house was very clean. We loved being next door to the Farm-to-Table restaurant. We had what we needed, along with extra blankets and local menus. The patio is super cute, too.

High School Friends (40 years of friendship)

We had such a great time! . Donna has created the perfect comfortable, classy spot. We stayed here for two nights and drove to Round Top. We ate next door at 22 North Holland. Everything was clean and comfortable. We will be back for sure!

Girls trip

The property was comfortable and has more than enough room for sleeping and relaxing. The living/dining/kitchen is huge. Kitchen is well stocked with dishes/utensils/pots, and pans. Loved the large island and the claw foot tub/shower. We arrived on the coldest day of the year and there are plenty of extra blankets for the beds.

Market Day on the Square

We had a group of ladies stay for the weekend during one of Bellville's market day weekends. This was our second time to stay here, and we will definitely come back again. The house is amazing and very comfortable, the host is warm and helpful, and the location is perfect. Highly recommend!

Perfect Girlsā€™ Weekend!

Holland House was the perfect setting for a wonderful time with my daughters and granddaughter. The location was ideal for shopping and dining on the square. We could just step outside and walk. Bellville has terrific shops and restaurants, but isnā€™t overrun with other tourists, so we were never bothered by noise. Also, we loved sitting in the back courtyard listening to the birds and watching the cat. There was also a park nearby for my five year old granddaughter. The house itself is charming and comfortable. I really enjoyed the big bathtub! We would definitely stay here again!

I was born and raised in Bellville and proud to call it home. Brad and I live off site and are proud parents of our daughter who is a recent Aggie graduate.

The building was originally home to a newspaper that had been moved from where the library currently stands. Through the years it has been a bar, antique store and many restaurants. Built in 1877, it has lots of history. Brad and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in the early 90's when it was a quaint, romantic restaurant called Holland House. When I purchased it, the floor and walls had many license plates covering holes. Some of the holes in the floor, we were told were bullet holes from the days when it was a bar. The 1936 plate which is hanging by the front door was taken from the floor and restored. The sign above the dining table was made with the flooring from the back rooms of the building in which the lumber is a mixture of species, textures and patterns.
