Welcome to Sealodge F9! This charming oceanfront apartment is a fantastic value in the sought-after Princeville community on Kauaiā€™s north shore. Youā€™ll love the incredible viewsā€”watch for whales from your lanai or enjoy the oceanfront scenery without even getting out of bed! A few things to note before you dive in:
ā€¢ The top-floor location offers breathtaking, unobstructed ocean views. Please be aware that there are no elevators and you will need to use stairs to reach this third-floor condo.
ā€¢ While Sealodge F9 has not seen recent updates, it's a clean and comfortable space, and provides a more budget friendly option for guests wanting a great oceanfront view.
ā€¢ Like many places on Kauai, there is no air conditioning. However, the ceiling fans, floor fans, and refreshing trade winds usually keep things comfortable. If youā€™re not used to the heat or prefer AC, you may want to explore other options.

Sealodge F9 is the only top floor condo in the building! Perfect for your honeymoon or other romantic getaway, it offers privacy, panoramic and unobstructed oceanfront views, and welcoming comfort inside, all at affordable rates. This one bedroom/one bathroom gem shares no common walls, so all you hear is the surf. From your private lanai you can view the changing colors of ocean and sky at both sunrise and sunset.

In the living room, you'll find comfortable furnishings and a Hawaiian punee (twin size day bed in the alcove of the picture window). You can use the punee if you need additional sleeping space for a child, or to relax at nap time as you watch for dolphins or whales while the tradewinds play softly over you. There's a dining area with seating for 4, full kitchen, and washer and dryer. There are yet more oceanfront views from the bedroom, with its comfortable queen bed and adjacent full bathroom. In the bathroom, the tub/shower and commode area are private, while the vanity area with sink and mirror remain open to the bedroom, allowing two people to get ready for the day simultaneously. Sleeps 3. Additional amenities include smart TV with DVD player, phone with free local calling, free WiFi. The complex includes an oceanfront swimming pool, and a barbecue area (grills are charcoal and BYOB - bring your own briquettes).

Our Kauai vacation rentals at Sealodge are located at the end of a small quiet side road, with no through traffic, that ends at a dramatic ocean bluff. These Princeville condos face the ocean on their lanai side. A short, rather strenuous, hike brings you to the secluded Sealodge Beach. Shopping and dining are conveniently close, with the Princeville shopping center just a mile and a half away. The charming town of Hanalei, and the world famous Hanalei beaches, are a brief ten minute drive. Our Princeville vacation rentals at Sealodge are comfortable, quiet, and island casual.

As with most homes on Kauai, this vacation rental is NOT air conditioned.

This is an upstairs condo so you need to be able to go up and down stairs. There are no elevators.

Although this home has internet, the speed and reliability cannot be guaranteed due to the remote location and the service being provided by a third-party.

Itā€™s a great place to just chill! As my daughter would say, it had a great retro Hawaiian vibe. The decorations were trendy and colorfulā€¦like we were in a real Hawaiian house. I had knee replacement surgery about 1.5 years ago, and made it around just fine. If you do have knee problems though, just be aware that youā€™ll have to navigate stairs and a low commode, so maybe inquire. Loved the scene from the balcony.

Yes, as many reviewers have mentioned, the place is a bit dated, but OMG the views out of EVERY window are stunning and MORE than make up for any aging. The place was very clean and well equipped and everything was very handy.

We loved the view and the location, about 10 mins from Hanalei Bay. Things to note: thereā€™s no beach walking distance of the unit. The condo is perched high on bluffs, and while thereā€™s supposedly a trail leading from the property down to the beach, we found it slippery and dangerous. Also, I found the communication with the property management, Kauai Kahuna, to be frustrating. We were asked if we needed anything, but almost everything was met with a version of ā€œNo, buy it yourself.ā€ For example, shampoo, conditioner and sugar were not provided. The snorkeling gear provided was faulty, and while we were provided with replacements, it was nearly a 2 business day wait with no specific arrival time to plan our snorkeling around, so we spent 25 to rent snorkels. The VRBO's Cleaning rules upon checkout were quite strict, i.e. "Your 30 cleaning fee includes the laundering of 2 sets of towels, for anything other than that, launder yourself or be charged a cleaning fee." So the last night of our stay, I had to stay up while the washer and dryer ran our beach towels, since that fell outside of the "covered" 2 sets of bath towels. We also had to take out the trash ourselves. Not sure what the cleaning fee really covers at that point. While we liked this unit, we'll likely try another management company next time.

Condo was very clean. Everything needed except spoons, as soon as I noticed managing they brought a whole new set of silverware. Check-in and communication with management was great. Three floors was a bit of a climb, though the view was wonderful.

Great views. We ate breakfast every morning on the deck as well as sat there every evening. Bright and spacious with two places to sleep in such a way that two people can each be in their own space. The building is next to the pool & near everything we wanted to do on the north shore. I loved that all the windows were open when we arrived so it was cool and not stuffy. The kitchen and bathroom windows have views of the mountains, while the others have views of the sea. There was a fresh wrapped sponge and a full paper towel roll by the kitchen sink & plenty of TP in the bathroom. It was also great to have a washing machine, especially the rinse and spin cycle. We didn't use the dryer; on plastic hangers everything dried overnight with the good ventilation. I liked being on the top floor too as no one could walk by it felt very private. Beautiful grounds too.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The views are incredible from this property. The interior is dated and run down. The kitchen, bathroom, and mattress are in bad shape. We have stayed in other Sealodge properties that were dated as well, but they were not this run down. If not for the view, I would give this property a very poor rating.

Wonderfully peaceful. Amazing views of ocean and mountains. Appreciated all the amenities, including beach chairs, snorkels, towels and in-unit washer and dryer. The bathroom and kitchen are dated, but fully functional. We are an adventurous couple and need a comfortable and functional place to stay. Not looking for 5-star resort, but got 5-star resort views. Sunrises were amazing.

80th birthday celebration

We have been staying at F9 for over 30 years. We were renting from the original owner before it was leased through a property. It is a perfect location with views of the sea and surf and the sounds lull you sleep at night. I was pleased to see that they had replaced the lanai flooring with a synthetic that didnā€™t give you splinters in your feet. The apartment was clean but old and dated. The same dim bathroom lights and bathtub non-slip stickers (or whatā€™s left of them) are still here after 30 years! We had to put a small area rug with a rubber backing in the tub, so we wouldnā€™t slip. We are seniors but very active so going up and down to the third floor is not a big deal. We have stayed at other third floor properties in Sea Lodge but sitting on the lanai in F9 is the best because the wind doesnā€™t blow the paper umbrella out of your mai tai!This location is perfect. It needs a little TLC upgrade.

Great location but pretty old interior and lacking in supplies

The pros: Great location! You get to stay right by the ocean and although there is no AC, cracking open the windows at night gives you all the fresh air you need to get a great nights rest.The cons: This isn't our first time staying at Sea Lodge and we love that area but this particular unit inside is really old and really lacks supplies. When we first open the doors, there were two very big wasps flying around and when we called the property manager to take care of it, they first wanted us to take care of the issue ourselves. We pushed back and to their credit they ended up taking care of it by sending someone out. The property really lacks supplies. There were only 3 spoons and 2 very very tiny bars of soap that we went through quickly and when we asked for more, the property manager told us to go buy our own. I don't expect for the management to just renovate the property because it's very expensive but there are so many things that would be very inexpensive for them to replace out of courtesy and enjoyment for the person staying with very very little out of pocket expense for them.Summary: This isn't our first time staying at a property at Sea Lodge and have always enjoyed staying in the area and will most likely be back again. But compared to the other units we stayed at, this unit is quite outdated and not stocked well.

Sorry, the burners on the stove are funky. One doesnā€™t work. The kitchen and pantry area could use a deep clean. FYI, the kitchen floor is spongy and the linoleum is coming up in a few spots. Hard to maintain in a damp environment. Still loved our stay.

Amazing Condo

Located in a great area. We enjoyed listening to the waves every night while we slept. The lanai has an amazing view. We sat out there every morning to watch the sunrise and every night to star gaze. We watched whales and surfers from the balcony. We were worried about no AC but it ended up being just fine with the windows open and ocean breeze. Although itā€™s an older unit, the property is well maintained and provided all of the amenities we were looking for. We had a great time!

We enjoyed every morning out on the balcony watching the sunrise & then sunset every night. A couple times we saw dolphins You can see a huge waterfall on the mountain out the kitchen window Yes it is warm without AC but all the windows open & fans going it was fine. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves was perfect!

Biggest problem was not being able to get Kauai Kahuna to respond or even answer the phone to help us with a problem. There were 5 remote controls for the TV and no instruction on which to use. Went 3 and a half days trying to figure out how to get volume on the TV. Never did get any help. They wouldn't even answer the emergency number we were given. Called it 5 times.

Iā€™ll begin by saying we love Sealodge and that area. F9 unit has a spectacular view. We saw whales almost every day and fabulous birds. It really is a wonderful place. Unfortunately, after a few days( we rented F9 for 2 weeks) you begin to notice things. The unit really needs some new paint and some TLC. The plumbing fixtures worried me every time I went to have a shower or brush my teeth. The beds are soft. The screens have holes. The washer and dryer are sort of in the dining room with you. But then thereā€™s the view! I waffled back and forth between loving the place and being a bit disappointed. Iā€™d definitely rent in the Sealodge complex again, but I do not think I would ever rent F9 again.

Nice stay cut short by serious fall

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Have rented at Sea Lodge before, though not this unit. This unit was bit dated but more than adequate. Lovely lanai views. All that we needed was at hand short a can opener. Unfortunately on third day I took a bad fall on trail up from beach. Had to be flown out on helicopter. Spent four days in hospital with broken pelvis. My wife spent one more night there before checking out to be closer to hospital. Only beef with management company was no response to wifeā€™s call and e-mail informing them of what had happened. No expectation of refund but some show of concern would have been nice. Oh the beach was lovely. Would stay at Sea Lodge again but this unit wouldnā€™t be first choice .

Spectacular Views

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Spectacular views! The unit was a bit dated and bathroom had poor lighting
