Locally-crafted, custom luxury log home, spacious 1800 square foot of living space on (one bedroom on each floor with a bath) for plenty of privacy for all. set in the heart of the Hocking Hills. 5-10 minutes from ALL leading attractions and State Parks. The Frontier Cabin is located off a secluded township road, on a wooded hillside lot. Our Summit Lodge next door incase you have a large group you could consider booking both.

We welcome family gatherings and mature groups of friends seeking quiet enjoyment of the beauty the Hocking Hills offers. If you have a guest that is disabled or mobility challenged, they may have trouble negotiating the staircases. Please ask questions and consider photographs for more information.(If you are looking for a place to have a party, please don't book with us.)

We decorate "over the top" with Christmas trees, Christmas bedspreads, centerpieces, Christmas dishes and many other small touches that make the cabin totally about Christmas. Jesus is the Reason for the Season. Decorations are up from Thanksgiving through end of January. - Bedroom/Bathroom 1: luxurious master suite with Queen bed, dresser, and nightstands. The attached bathroom has a tub and shower.
- Bedroom/Bathroom 2: Queen bed with chest and nightstand. Full bath.
- Bedroom 3: Queen bed with dresser and nightstand. Full bath attached
- Sleeping area in Game Room has a full-size bed and shares the bath with bedroom #3.

- 1200+ square feet of covered decks to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

- Covered Rear deck: Accessible from the dining room, the back deck has a large covered hot tub, table and stools for outdoor dining, yard games.
- Ground level: Outside the lower level a fire pit with plenty of seating. Deck has a picnic table. There is also plenty of flat parking.

One night stays may be available if 1 open night remains between other reservations. Please ask if this is not available to book. Limited guests (to avoid parties) on these one night stays. Note our policy on parties.

Pricing Explained: Frontier Cabin accommodates up to 8 guests. The base rate covers 2 guests, with each additional guest costing $33 per person, per night. This pricing structure ensures fairness for smaller groups. Children 6 months and under do not count toward the guest total.

Host was great with communication. Before booking they were quick to be back with me with my questions as it was a last minute booking because of a last minute cancellation with another booking. The cancellation wasnā€™t owner fault; Cut Above benefitted from it. Very nice stay, beautiful location. Already looking at other properties for future.

The cabin was in a great location, clean and very well stocked with kitchen and bath supplies. The hosts were very communicative. But...I know the cabin was not rented the day before our Friday arrival (host offered to add Thursday to our stay for reduced ; we did not). The host then offered to let us check in early on Friday (11 am vs 4 pm) for an extra 150! Every hotel in the world will let you check in early if your room is ready. I thought the 150 charge was ridiculous and this left a bad taste in my mouth re this host. Also, the offer to check out late on Sunday for additional hundreds of was excessive. I felt they were nickel and diming me.

A beautiful cabin and short drive to area attractions

We had the most wonderful stay at the Frontier Cabin. From the moment we booked, our host Evelyn was fantastic. Their communication was prompt, friendly, and they offered several helpful local recommendations that made our trip even better. The cabin itself was exactly what we were looking for. It was immaculately clean upon arrival, and every room was sparkling. The space was far more spacious than we expected, with a great open layout that was perfect for relaxing. Their entire cabin was filled with a warm, inviting atmosphere, and is very close to area sites and attractions. We will book with them again....Thank you!!

This cabin is very close to old manā€™s cave and other points of interest. The cabin has lots of games. Very relaxing. Just some points no TV in bed rooms. It makes sense but if youā€™re used to that just be aware. The hot tub was relaxing. If you have any back issues be aware only one room on first floor. The stairs are very steep. It was a great place for our weekend.

Great Location, Beautiful Property, but there were a few things...

First, the location of the property is great. It's secluded and about 10 minutes or less from most of the things you probably have on your list of things to do in the Hocking Hills area. The house itself is clean and the property is well kept. While the listing does state that it is a first level walk-in, it must be stated that the flight of stairs to the first level are STEEP!! To the point that we were traveling with my in-laws and after the first day, they didn't come upstairs anymore. The kitchen, hot-tub, living room, other living spaces are all upstairs. We accommodated them by shifting things to the lower level. There is a bedroom down there were they slept and a game-room area with a futon and TV were we hung out, but it was unfortunate that we didn't feel like we could experience the whole house with them. The pricing structure of this rental is different than most. It is explained in the bottom paragraph ALL the way to the end of the listing. YOU WILL NOT PAY THE QUOTED PRICE YOU SEE LISTED!! By the time I secured this listing for 5 people, it was more than double the initial per night price with the additional per person/night fees, host fees, etc. This is fine, if you are prepared going into it. I gave Evelyn the owner some constructive feedback about the booking process, the number and type of communications she sends out, the harsh tone of the house rules, and the role it plays on the guest experience. She basically blew it off, which is what I expected.

Annual girls trip

This was our second year getting this house and again it was beautiful, clean, relaxing. The host is amazing! I HIGHLY Recommend this home to everyone. My daughter is 8 and loves the home also. It is definitely a little piece of heaven, we will be back next year for our yearly girls trip

Mid-May Hocking Hills Vacation

The cabin was comfortable and very clean (cleanest rental we've ever stayed in). Well-stocked kitchen. Enjoyed the 6 person hot tub daily, and also used the (very nice) grill. Location was excellent! Many of the hikes we wanted to do were within 10 to 15 minutes of the cabin. Would definitely recommend!

Great Cabin! Clean, Interesting & Great Location

We had a great time in Hocking and loved the cabin. There were 4 of us and it was very comfortable, clean and had all the amenities we could want. I appreciated the clear instructions for everything and it was pretty low stress. Everything was clean, new feeling, and the layout was really fun (steep / ladder-like stairs, lots of wood details, modern bathrooms).

Amazing property!

We stayed in the Frontier Cabin, and it was absolutely beautiful. The views were breathtaking, and the privacy made it feel like a true getaway. The kids had an amazing time and enjoyed everything the cabin had to offer. The cabin was immaculately clean, spacious, and had a wonderful layout. The hot tub was a favorite, especially under the stars. The architecture and art throughout the home were stunning and added so much character. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms were roomy and spotless. What really stood out were the games and activities available inside ā€” weā€™ve never stayed in a cabin that had so much to offer for both kids and adults. The three decks were perfect for relaxing, and the twinkling lights in the woods added such a magical touch. If I could come back here every week, I definitely would. Highly recommend this place for families or anyone looking to unwind in a beautiful, peaceful setting.

My husband, daughter (5), and I stayed at the cabin Nov. 1 - 5 and had a wonderful time. Old Man's Cave was only 8 minutes away. The owners were great about warning us that there is NO SERVICE and your GPS really doesn't work anywhere around there, so we could plan in advance at the house to get on the WIFI and screenshot directions prior to leaving to explore trails or head into Logan. The hot tub was our favorite thing to do in the morning and night. The cabin was cozy & clean. We enjoyed the fireplace and hung in the basement to play board games or foosball. We made a fire one night and it is really peaceful and secluded there. The lights were a nice surprise. There was a nice gas grill to use and the kitchen had everything we needed (even a crock pot for a roast we left in all day while we went out hiking)! The only thing to warn about are the steep stairs to each floor. The cabin was absolutely perfect in every other way though. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend to others!

We are mother and Daughter; Evelyn and Catherine. We moved to the Hocking Hills in 2006 and have enjoyed the area very much. We started a vacation rental business in 2014 with a one bedroom cabin in the loft of our barn on our lake front property, called Lake Logan Loft. It has been such a wonderful experience over 3 years that we decided to sell our rental business in another part of the state and invest in really special residences that we could share with you! Welcome to our Cut Above Cabins, in the Hocking Hills. We have 2 Lodges and 1 cabin in secluded wooded areas on several acres each. We also have ChĆ¢teau Lake Logan which is an adult only couples retreat. We hope you will choose to stay with us when you plan our vacation to this special area known as the Hocking Hills Region.

The large kitchen with a dishwasher and refrigerator makes cooking easy and fun. The covered hot tub (8 person) is a favorite. (new in 2024)
