Lake James Escape | Double-Decker Dock, Sunset Deck, Fire Pit

Summer`s last warm days are still here, but fall is right around the corner, and it`s spectacular. Snag one of our last September stays for lake swims and dock lounging, or book ahead for peak October color, crisp mornings on the deck, and cozy nights around the fire pit. Either way, the lake is your backyard.

Peak leaf season hits Lake James in mid-to-late October. Prime fall weekends go quickly, so book early!

Spend quality time with family and friends and soak in endless lake and mountain views from this 4BR/3BA home, located inside a gated community on Lake James. Enjoy plenty of space to spread out: two large wraparound decks (upper and lower) with grills and seating that are perfect for foliage views come October, a back yard with a fire pit, and a private double-decker dock with lounging space on both levels. A boat isn`t included, but you can rent one from a nearby marina and tie it up right at the dock for the length of your stay.

Our lot includes a beach cove with a path down to a picnic table and hammocks, plus a sandy area for relaxing by the water. We provide 3 kayaks and 2 paddle boards for guest use. Lake James also offers endless ways to explore, including swimming, fishing, boating, hiking, and mountain biking, with 30% of the shoreline protected as State Park land.

About the home:
The main level features the master bedroom and bath with patio doors out to the lake-view deck, a second bedroom with a king bed, a large hall bath, and an open great room with kitchen, dining area, and living room with vaulted ceilings and a gas fireplace. New oversized doors lead out to the deck with expanded dining and seating.
The lower level offers a large den with smart TV, a bedroom with a king bed and new patio doors to the lower deck, and a third bedroom with a queen and bunk bed. There`s a large hall bath and a laundry area off the bunk room. The home includes internet and 3 TVs throughout.

Nearby, the towns of Marion and Morganton offer shopping, dining, and entertainment for when you want to venture beyond the lake.

Please note: Boat trailers are not permitted in the driveway. If you`re bringing a boat, you`ll need off-site parking — your host can provide a nearby location and cost details.
