This is a 2 bedroom house located in the City limits of Breaux Bridge, La. It is near I-10 interstate which is great for travelers. This is also a great vacation spot to stop and see the Cajun Culture in the Crawfish Capital of the World. This property is approx 1000 square feet. It has a open concept as you can see from the pictures. There are 2 queen size beds, one in each room with a walk-in closet. The setting is in a quiet neighborhood and the house is about 5 block from the down town area. There is many Cajun restaurants with Cajun music locally in the area. Many tourist places to visit as well as canoeing or kayaking in the Bayou. There is swamp tours and many beautiful Catholic Churches to see. The Cajun food is incredible. Once you've eating Cajun food there is no going back.

Jekyll & Hyde

Easy check in and access around 6:30 pm. We showed up unloaded and was excited for some local cuisine. Ordered dinner for carry out and ate at the property ( Due to Covid - 19 restrictions) Had dinner cleaned up and relaxed in the main room. Took dog for a walk in the neighborhood which was nice. Returned back and started to relax. Wife started to turn down the bed for the night then discovered two dead cockroaches on the floor next to the bed. She flushed them down the toilet then told me what she found. I did not think anything about it. Then she looked behind the bed ,there were at least 7 more dead COCKROACHES behind the bed! After that was discovered we looked around the house and found what seemed to be a dozen plus more from under the curtains, under end tables, on the fireplace, under beds etc. We were not going to continue our stay. After having a talk with the owner prior to this NASTY discovery she stated how much cleaning she did on the floor and house prior to our arrival. I would also like to mention that the mirrors and glass had a hazy film on them. She also stated to have had it treated a week ago for infestation. We contacted the owner after our discovery of all the DEAD COCKROACHES (well over a dozen) at 10:20 PM and she was very understanding and was cooperative with the situation even offered a refund and apology. As we where packing up our things to leave the owner was staged at the intersection on the corner of the house waiting for our departure. As we left the property the owner drove into the driveway on the property. When we were travailing to find a place to stay the owner called me and was BELLIGERENT on the phone screaming "how we took advantage of her and we would not get a refund." She was so belligerent I could not get a word in. She was so loud my wife could hear her screaming in the phone from the passenger seat! After several attempts to reach out to resolve the issues she neglected to respond. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with ANY travel accommodations ever! We where their for only 4.5 hrs. It was a shame because we were looking to have a great time and was accused as being fraudulent due to their neglect. She will respond saying I'm crazy or she has video proof of cleanliness, but that is not the case. The property is also listed under 2 different numbers with different prices. Property # 1784896 and Property # 1386532 BEWARE!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONE

I travel 4-5 times a year and use VRBO at least 2 times. Never have I had such a horrible experience. Went down for my Mom's funeral. Due to a mix up in days paid and my credit card being hit twice for two different amounts). When she called (the night I got in) I asked that it wait until morning for me to contact VRBO and my bank she said fine. At 7:12 the next morning she called SCREAMING. And when I say SCREAMING, I mean SCREAMING. So, loud my granddaughter woke up (and the phone was not on speaker) and ran to the next room to tell her Mom that someone was yelling at Grandma. The whole family heard her screaming. She screamed for 3 minutes and 4 seconds according to my phone. The only words I got in was "can this wait a couple of hours" and that set her off again screaming, then she hung up. She called right back and yelled "If this is not taken care of in 30 minutes I'll turn the water off". And hung up. Only to call right back to say "if you have more than 5 people in there, I'll kick you to the street"..... and this went on and on. She also said she was not going to give me my deposit back which was a very large amount. I WILL fight this one. When we left we left the place cleaner than we got it. All dishes washes, floors cleaned, and we even washed and dried the towels. FYI: We took pictures of the place before we walked out the door (time and dated) so that we could prove how we left the place. Sad when you are at your Mom's funeral and have to worry about proving what you did because you're scared she will call screaming again or refuse to give you the deposit back. The place was dirty, we had to wash some of the dishes BEFORE we used them, the dishwasher was horrible and didn't work (she said it floods), the TV didn't work (said it wasn't connected), one of the windows in the bedroom was broken and had freezer tape on it, under the bed is trash/dirt and a dead cockroach, the garbage can was almost full so we had no room for our garbage..... and I could go on. I did some asking around town about this lady and no one had anything good to say and said she "goes off" like that all the time and no one who stays there ever goes back. All this during my Mom's funeral and she knew why I was there and she did not care... even said so. So, between the screaming and the place being dirty, STAY AWAY!

Comfortable, no frills home

Everything was here. Air conditioning, driveway, bedrooms, etc. But it isn’t a special place. It has the anonymity of a hotel. No real personality or accents of the owner aside from the carpentry which looks like it was done by the home owner.

Lovely spot for exploring Cajun culture and food

We chose to stay a few days in Breaux Bridge knowing almost nothing about the area and we are so glad we did. Robbie’s house is a perfect base for visiting the town and the local environment and to experience local food, music and the beauty of Bayou Teche and Lake Martin. Unfortunately we had been in a car accident on our way from Texas and spent one full day trying to deal with that. Robbie and Brian were very sympathetic and helpful.

Great place to stay in Cajun Country

This is our second time staying at this Breaux Bridge home. We love staying here for several reasons: nice, quiet neighborhood, accessible to wonderful eating areas and attractions and it is like being home. The owners are very helpful and recommended great eating places. Definitely will stay here again.

A relaxing home in Breaux Bridge

My husband, daughter and I stayed a few nights at the end of August and enjoyed relaxing in this home after a day of experiencing Louisiana. Robbie was very friendly answering my questions and through the reservation process. His home is clean and well stocked with linens and towels. Good location in a quiet neighborhood. We found many suggestions for places to see in the area. Check out Cajun Country Swamp tours on Lake Martin and Sydnie Mae's on Main St. We recommend this property when you visit Breaux Bridge

Nice & Quiet!

Breaux Bridge Treasure

This home in Breaux Bridge was very clean and welcoming. My siblings and I have been on our father’s genealogy which landed us in the Breaux Bridge, the Crayfish Capital. We will be returning and hope to use this same VRBO in the future.
