CASA ALEGRIA - OUR SPECTACULAR PARADISE!

A beautiful luxury home that is just a 5 minute walk to the beach and 10 minutes to the start of the famous 5th Ave in Playa Del Carmen . This is a 2300 Sq ft 2 storey, three master bedroom, 3 Ā½ bath, private home with a unique, modern Mexican architectural style; colonial interiors and beautiful contemporary furnishings. All rooms have independent air-conditioning and ceiling fans with remote control.

On the main floor you will find a large living room and dining area. There is a spacious state of the art kitchen with all stainless steel appliances, microwave and fresh water cooler. This kitchen is fantastic for entertaining. There is a gas grill on the patio if you prefer to cook outside and you can eat at the patio table and then relax close to the HEATED pool on the rattan couch and chairs.

On the main floor is one bedroom with two single beds, (which can be converted to a king-size bed), and a beautiful marble and granite ensuite.

As you access the upstairs you will find a reading area with a futon to accommodate extra guests. From there you enter either of two master bedroom suites, each suite has a king-size bed and beautiful granite and marble ensuite. Each of the master bedrooms has a private balcony with furniture for relaxing, while enjoying a refreshing margarita.

Amazing house!

This house is perfect for a nice get away. The location is great and the pool is right outside! Our favorite part was the amazing patio. We enjoyed having coffee and sundowners outside. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful home and location

Home is perfect for three couples, or a family with children. Three beautiful bedrooms each with private full bathrooms, one couch pullout for a child In an open area if required, beautiful finishes, heated pool right off the patio. Cluster of seven private homes all owned by family and friends who were all very welcoming. We virtually had the pool to ourselves for the entire two weeks. Maid service wonderful, concierge service fabulous, grounds and pool maintained daily, walking distance to amazing restaurants and shopping but also fully equipped for cooking at home including barbecue. We would definitely rent again! Owner is a wonderfully detailed person who has everything in order. It really was paradise.

Beautiful Respite in Playa Del Carmen

The property was every bit as nice as advertised. Other than initially trying to find the place at night when you have no knowledge of the area/community, we couldn't have been more pleased with the area and accommodation. The home has a great communal living space in the kitchen/dining room/living room. The 3 bedroom suites were all lovely. There is a great patio with outside furniture for lounging and a dining table for Ā±10. It shares a pool with 6 other homes, but we had it to ourselves. The property is very well furnished, we never found ourselves wishing for something that wasn't there, either in the kitchen or with extra linens, beach towels, etc. The property is very walkable to Quinta Anenida (5th Avenue). We did it on almost a daily basis as we found it easier than driving or getting a taxi. Mark, the property host, is a wealth of knowledge about the area and extremely responsive. He does a superb job of welcoming you and providing all the information about the property and area you might need or want. He made the experience most enjoyable. When we wind up in this part of the world again, I sincerely hope Casa Alegria will be available for us.

Perfect holiday

Beautiful house, great pool and neighbors. Did scuba diving and snorkling out of the Reef Marina right across the street. Great dive center. This house is located right on the Hard Rock golf course. A tough but amazing course. The house is close to town and all amenities. Perfect family vacation. Will definitely be back next year. We always book early, this house is very popular.

Incredible, spacious home filled with so many ā€œextrasā€ in a safe part of town.

Poor Mark. I asked him SO many questions prior to our departure, and not only did he reply to every single one, but he did so promptly and in a respectful manner, always ending his reply with, ā€œdo you have any more questions?ā€ Why yes, yes I did! The information Mark and Yvonne provide their guests upon booking is extremely detailed and thorough, from directions to their home as well as information guests may need about the house during their stay, to the names and locations of recommended restaurants and excursions nearby. Some of my questions related to safety in and around Playacar, and though they both assured me it was safe, I still felt a little anxious... until we arrived in Playacar and drove through the secured gates. Any anxiety that possibly remained was alleviated as soon as we walked into their gorgeous home. I say home, not house, because Casa Alegria truly feels like a home from the moment you walk in. We have rented several condos over the years, and this is the first one that truly has a welcoming feel to it, most likely due to all the local, decorative touches throughout. The home is spacious, the kitchen is FULLY stocked, there are enough bathrooms for everyone, and it comes with everything you may need for a trip to the beach: a cooler, freezer packs, beach towels, and an umbrella! Upon the suggestion of the hosts, our family of 4 had planned an excursion to Xel-ha one day in the middle of our stay. (Tip: pre-book and pay at least a week before the day you plan on visiting Xel-ha, and youā€™ll save between 10-15% on your tickets). Our family (2 adults, a 15yo and a 12yo) loved absolutely every second of it! So much fun, lots to do (cliff jumping and zip lining were firsts for us!) and the food was delicious! We didnā€™t rent a car during our stay, so upon the recommendation of Mark and Yvonne, as well as assurances that the public method of transportation would be safe, we took a Collectivo to get to Xel-ha. Super easy, quick, and economical. If there are more than a couple of you, and you want the assurance of staying together on the drive back into town, Iā€™d suggest pre-paying the return tickets on the ADO bus in Playa del Carmen a day or two before your adventure. Costs a few dollars more pp than the Collectivo, but for the assurance and convenience, we thought it was worth it. Mark and Yvonne, thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful home, and for being a part of our familyā€™s unforgettable memories.

A beautiful home, well maintained, and close to many great activities

Our stay in this beautiful home was wonderful. The location is great in that it is close to fun activities like xel-ha, xcaret, and fifth avenue, but also close to relaxing options as well. Access to the Reef club meant we could go use their beach front and chairs, or we could choose to lay around in the pool in the backyard. The house was impeccably clean thanks to the twice weekly maid service, and the backyard was well maintained thanks to the grounds crew. Overall, it was a very carefree stay and we look forward to returning as soon as we can.

Fantastic!!

We had the pleasure of enjoying 10 days at Casa Alegria. The house is beautiful and has all the comforts of home however the well maintained pool was our favorite place to spend time. There is lots to see and do in the area. The beach and a shopping plaza are just a short walk away. We also visited 5th ave nightly and tried some of the restaurants that were recommended. Having wi-fi is an added perk and makes it so easy to reach out to Mark or the staff of Playa Paradise if you have any questions. A wonderful vacation was had by all.

Fantastic trip!

What a great trip we had at Casa Alegria! Mark was fantastic at communicating and answering questions for me prior to the trip. Everything was exactly as described. Beautiful house in a gated community. All the amenities we needed. The Reef beach club was a nice perk to have access to. A short 5 minute walk to beach. A short 10 minute walk to downtown Playa also. We loved the pool outside the house. Met great Canadian neighbors! The air conditioning worked great and we always were supplied with water jugs. Very comfortable beds and plenty of room for my family of 7. We took Mark's suggestions and visited Xel-Ha water park. Lots of fun! Could not ask for anything more. Thank you Mark! We will be back!

Christmas in Paradise

Our family enjoyed the Christmas season at this beautiful house with its great location. The property has all of the amenities that we required and if we needed something out of the ordinary a multitude of shops and restaurants are close by. Fantastic vacation Home

What a beautiful home! our group of 6 were more than comfortable, lot's of space, really comfy beds a fantastic pool and very clean. It was very well equipped and the pool was fantastic! we spent most of our time there and wandered in to town for dinner and shopping. The beach is nice and close and the sand is amazing! Loved the neighbors, they were so helpful with direction to shopping and restaurant recommendations. Thank-you Mark for making our vacation perfect! We will be back!

AMAZING !!!!!

This was our 3rd time staying at Mark and Yvonne's beautiful home in Playa del Carmen. We've been spoiled and will never stay anywhere else when vacationing in Mexico. We just love the proximity to 5th avenue shopping and restaurants and the 5 minute stroll to the white sandy beaches. The house itself is lovely & very comfortable, large master suites and a wonderful kitchen to cook in. The bonus was coming back to the house after spending the day at the beach and sitting on the covered deck overlooking the pool and enjoying a cold one. We loved our stay at Casa Alegria. The house and property are beautiful. We loved having a pool in addition to all the comforts of home. Being able to access the beach through both the jungle path and the Reef club was a wonderful perk. We loved the clear water and soft sand. Nightly we would go into town to 5th ave for dinner and felt safe and comfortable doing so. The shopping plaza down the street also has alot of little shops to check out. Mark was very helpful suggesting places to go see or eat at and checking in to make sure everything was good and that we enjoyed our vacation. Patricia and the staff of Playa Paradise were wonderful and able to answer any questions we had. Loved it and will recommend to friends.

Vacation Paradise

Casa Alegria far exceeded our expectations. It was an ideal location for our family vacation which included adult children and young grandchildren. The home is spacious and very well equipped with many unexpected extras. The proximity of the pool just off the patio was a highlight. We enjoyed the short walk to the beautiful beach both via the jungle walk and the Reef Club and the walk to 5th Avenue. There was an added sense of security being in a gated community. The neighbours were very hospitable and helpful in sharing their knowledge of the area. We greatly appreciated Mark's recommendations for shopping, restaurants, etc. and his checking in to make sure everything was okay. It was a fantastic holiday and we would love to return some day!

wonderful house and vacation experience!

What a great rental experience! This house is perfect for a family with kids. Our 3 and 5 year old could not get enough of the pool and we really enjoyed having a house pool as well as access to a resort. The staff that cared for the property were extremely responsive when we had a question or issue. The owner also checked in often to make sure we had all we needed. We felt very well cared for the entire two weeks. Playacar is also very safe and we never had any safety concerns. Wish all rental experiences were this easy!

Beautiful Home away From Home

Absolutely loved the place , amazing layout ! From the exterior structural and amazing pool to interior designing is just beautiful ! Cozy home with great location and awesome pool!!

Casa AlegrĆ­a exceeded our expectations in terms of the number of extras and amenities! Mark, the owner was great and very understanding about our changes in travel plans on multiple occasions! The house was very comfortable with 3 bedrooms for our family. My girls slept on the sofa bed since they're little but one adult wouldn't likely be just as fine on it too! The pool is shared among a few houses but it was mostly our private pool for most of our stay, and the times we did share it, we had a blast learning French from our Belgian neighbors! When we arrived, one of the guest bedrooms' air conditioner was not working but it was fixed by a technician within an hour! There is a washer and dryer, shampoo in the bathrooms and great big fluffy beach towels! The BBQ grill was great for grilling mahi that was caught locally! Overall, Casa AlegrĆ­a was a phenomenal home and I can't wait to go back! As far as distance from 5th street(Quinta Avenida)...it's close, about 0.7 miles. So descriptions of 10-15 minute walk is for those with good overall health/fitness. Anyone with foot, knee, or hip problems will take a little more time, but it's definitely doable. Taxis are ok, but the fares start adding up after a few days. From Casa Alegria it should be no more than approximately 70-100 pesos to as far away as Walmart. We also recommend grocery shopping at Soriana. Way better selection of food and produce. Mark, if you get a hammock and some bikes to use around town, you'll have to beat renters off with a stick!! Thanks again for making our dream vacation a reality!

Perfect Family Vacation!

We rented Casa Alegria for an 11 day stay over the Christmas holidays. It was fabulous. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. The photos do not do it justice. We had plenty of room for our family of 6, with 4 teenagers each having plenty of room to spread out. The pool is beautiful and was a great spot to cool off after a day at the beach. We also enjoyed the ability to share family meals around the large dining room table, or outside on the pool-side patio. The property is also extremely well situated. It is in a very safe neighbourhood (beautiful lush area - great for long walks) and the owners of the neighbouring houses were all extremely friendly and hospitable. Short walk to the beach and within easy walking distance of the more touristic 5th avenue - where we regularly went for dinner and shopping. There is also a great golf course within a 5 minute walk of the house, which made the golfers in our family extremely happy! The nearby beach was, in our opinion, the nicest beach in the Playa del Carmen area. Very wide beach, with much less congestion than other areas. Perfect for relaxing!! The owner Mark was extremely helpful with everything relating to the rental and was always available to answer any questions we had in advance of and during our stay - making the whole experience very easy and pleasant. I would not hesitate recommending this property to any of our family and friends. We hope to return sometime soon!

Perfect Family Vacation!

We rented Casa Alegria for an 11 day stay over the Christmas holidays. It was fabulous. The house is beautiful and very well maintained. The photos do not do it justice. We had plenty of room for our family of 6, with 4 teenagers each having plenty of room to spread out. The pool is beautiful and was a great spot to cool off after a day at the beach. We also enjoyed the ability to share family meals around the large dining room table, or outside on the pool-side patio. The property is also extremely well situated. Paradise!

We had the opportunity to stay in Casa Alegria for one glorious week. Due to a last minute change, only two couples came instead of three. The house was so big it could easily accommodate four couples! Well laid out, stupendous kitchen, fabulous pool. It was all we expected and more. Mark was an attentive host, made sure everything was looked after including our shuttle to and from the airport. The neighbors were very gracious and helpful, educating us on the area and giving great snorkeling tips! We'll be back!
